We're told in events, I believe, that Natlan is west of Sumeru's desert... it'd be interesting to see Nilou's World Natlan once 5.0 drops, but unfortunately, that barrier probably makes it impossible.
Not just events but permanent quests too. And we can see the location of 5.0 Natlan in official teasers. Definitely outside the Nilou World barrier unfortunately.

You mentioned certain effects persisting like the withering zones. Fun fact: If you glitch out the game and activate the time freeze glitch (allows you to cross Paimon barrier) then the withering zones still take effect. From lots of out of bounds and below map exploration, I can only surmise that there are a few effects that are never "unloaded" but are always present in the game regardless of the state of the world. "Nilou's world" is just the rest of the game unloading - similar to breaking through the Paimon barrier in Neuvillette's story quest as an example. But yeah, the game do be very inconsistent in what it does. Just wish that damn barrier around wriothesley's ship can disappear

what amazes me is that despite you only meant to just walk upstairs with Nilou, that they jusy kept the entirety of Teyvat. Wouldn’t it have been easier to just cut out Sumeru city and the surrounding landscape or just remove all visual effects?
My guess is that they changed the whole world for this part of a quest, and instead of recreating it. This should explain why there are post 3.2 regions

Hey Moosashi, I've always wanted to ask, why are the trial characters so broken? I know it's something you're not supposed to see but... Then why load them?
1:22 i'm something of a designer myself. before remuria i had a dream fontaine's new area was a deep trench like mariana and maybe even darker than the deepest of the chasm, basically SOMA, and with underwater mechanics that would slow you down and wouldn't allow you to jump because pressure. there was also the feeling of someone scary swimming close by beyond the reach of your light. needless to say it was an Experience

No, it’s a different one. It’s the same he used in the 2.8 event for Traveler-san. I think he said it in one of his livestreams
