Nice work! It's so cool to see Stephen, a pro welder, providing such a positive review of our welding machine. It appears that we are on the right track! I hope all audiences will also appreciate it. If anyone has any inquiries, I am always available to assist 😀.
We have an australorp hen very similar mannerism as yours. Just wants to hang out all the time and be the centre of attention. Not much of a welding inspector though…
Thanks mate. The testing still goes on, I decided to use it as my main welder and have done since the posting of this video and I have nothing to report other than it still working great.
Just hard to believe how great the inverter welders are these days. I can tell that Stephen, the Little Aussie Rockets love the machine. You just cant beat the cost size and convenient too. Hope your stove business is going well also fella. Good day too. vf
I bought an MIG200 before and I gotta say, I loved how it did MIG stuff. I was totally blown away by how well it did DC TIG too. I wish I could show you a pic, but I can't. Since then, I've been curious to witness the performance of arccaptain's TIG welding machine. Thanks for your video!
With your skills you can produce an excellent weld with a cheap No frills welder I’ve seen your weld’s on your RUclips channel I am amazed with your level of skill Good review .
Hi and thank you from Germany, I have to go all the way to Australia to see a good video about the ARC Captain. Thanks to your video, I am now sure that I have found the right Christmas present. My dream would have been the EVM but it costs 2800 Euros. I am a trained welder myself and can assess your skills very well. Thanks for the Video and have a nice Christmas Holiday. Greetings Marcus. And sorry for my English.
the Bock bock! at the end was cute! Also super appreciate the tips on holding the torch! I started watching the rocket stove videos and now I'm hooked on the welding aspect haha
Just tigged up 2 aluminium tanks...aprox 50ft weld total at about 165 .works fine.Ground cable is about 1/2 the size it should be as is the main power cord. Get used to using a foot pedal guys.Have tigged up aircraft tubes with all kinds of tortch contortions and positions using a knee even on the pedal.
Wow, a whole video about TIG welding, and you didn't stick the electrode once. Though very disconcerting to have the chicken staring at me while I'm eating my chicken and rice.
What timing is this? Just last night I purchased a "Giantz" 250amp DC inverter welder online. I figured that a Tig was above my pay grade and capability and I'd stick with the ark welder. This thing is under 4kg, god only knows what my old 150amp Peerless weighs, it was probably measured in cwt, LOL. I've wanted a welder with grunt for a while now and I hear they strike a great ark. I hope I've made the right decision.
With some materials yes. Stainless steel is the best for fuse welding, and certain grades of aluminium. You can get mild steel to fuse though it's never very satisfactory it really needs the additives that are in the mild steel filler wire to stabilize the weld puddle.
I have been meaning to do an in-depth video on the pulse setting I use, I keep getting distracted with the day job. Thanks for reminding me I do plan on doing something. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks buddy, I am in the talks to do a sponsored video on the same welder, but I am totally new to welding and I think a video on how you have it set up will help me a lot.
What a learnsome lesson how to keep the torch in your hands to be free in your movements. Didn't know that😁. Many thanks for that. What a great machine. Definitely would buy one if I had the money. DC/AC would be more wellcome, but not necessary. Much fun watching this vid. Greetz from Holland, Marcel Knippers.😃
Nice tig torch.. they are not ship with the flex head with built-in trigger , it's a cheap torch with the trigger tie strapped on the torch .. the rest of unit looks good
When I received my welder it had an American style plug 🔌 (at the time of the video this was the first welder to be sent to Australia) so I put a industrial 10 amp plug on the machine and it's been fine, even running on long extension leads. Don't know if that's technically correct or too spec but I haven't had any issues with it running on 10 amp outlets.
I had to watch this video again to make sure you didn't talk about this already! I was wondering what power source you're running What I'd really like to know is - what's the thickest material you've been able to weld with the 110v power plug?
Same here my friend have the alpha but I will tell u from this video this welder did great too I think a tie in my book base on this video and seeing my friend use his , so for the price point I am going to go with this one and I like the digital display on this one too. Hope this comment helps u.
Will you now be going back to you UNIMIG? & if so, could you outline the benefits for you to switching back to the UNIMIG - cheers & looking forward to more videos with some of us curious on getting info on making or buying the aluminum cart you welded up in the Pulse MIG episode.
I'm still running my UniMig, it's T2 torch has a superior duty cycle compared to the standard 26 air cooled that came on the Arccaptain. Both are fantastic welders, one thing the captain does better is they've developed a high frequency start that is 99.9% reliable. Something that the unimig struggles with on occasion is a false start, it's a small thing, but it is something that UniMig could improve on. Something that I would consider if having to buy one of these machines would be spare parts. I know that UniMig is very good at servicing their machines and stocking spare parts. I haven't had to get any spares for the Arc captain but I'm not sure how that would go.
@@LittleAussieRockets Cheers for the reply - I actually replied to this comment & it appears YT deleted it, as they then accused me of breaching community guidelines with SPAM of all things. All I was doing was commenting on which UniMig I was looking to get & that I felt the Arccaptain was similar to the YesWelder, with both being on Amazon.
looks good mate i love your show keep it up, i have a heart pace maker , was told by the cardiologist not to use a stick welder, he say i can use a mig , when i asked him about a plasma cutter he didn't know what it was and a tig he didn't know what it was, what's your thought about this , ive used the plasma cutter since whats youre thinking about this mate , thanks
I'm not a doctor so I really can't comment, but this machine does have a high frequency start which is high voltage and low amps. Kind of like an electric fence on steroids. I couldn't imagine that playing into your favor
@@pkgoldopalhunting Just be careful - HF TIG, especially AC/DC can mess up car key FOBS & more rarely smart phones - my welding instructor has seen happen to a couple of students who forgot to leave they FOBS in their lockers, with this happening to one guy twice.
Yes I have had that happen with other cheap brands, but this one is spot on. It might be different if you are running it on 110 v, being in Australia I don't have the ability to test that. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of this machine and I'm not just saying that, I've been using it as my main welder in my fabrication shop on-site and off site, sometimes 6 days a week and it hasn't let me down.
Thank you ArcCaptain for sending the welder to Australia!

So not getting it in Australia then?
@@ozysniper Yeah, That will take some time.
@@arccaptain-weld any chance you'd send one down?

2:44 is that sped up, normal speed, or edited/cut?
That would be sped up two times I believe, in an attempt to just keep things moving.
