Mercedes W210: How to Reset/Fix Auto Up Down Windows

- If the windows on your w210 no longer have the auto up and down function then this video will show you how to reset them so that they work. The auto up/down windows did not come on all w210s. Later model cars had them. 1999-2002 had them on all 4. Early 1996 and 1997 may not have had them at all. You can tell if the switch has 2 stages vs 1.

I sold my E55 recently, but as I recall you can just do one window at a time. All the way down, then all the way up. Same with the sunroof, open then close. There is a stability control or something that requires turning the steering wheel lock to lock a couple times as well. And maybe something with seats/headrests? You need to remember these steps any time you disconnect the battery. I never drove mine in the winter (northern Wisconsin) and had to replace the battery because it didn’t survive. The manual says to charge it if not driven for 30 days but I think that requires a battery in good condition. Still the best looking Benz sedan!

1 window at a time is easier- All the way down and hold button for 10 seconds, then all the way up and hold for 10 seconds will reset auto mode- do all 4 windows this way. On sunroof- all the way back, hold for 10 seconds, all the way forward, hold 10 seconds, push up, hold 10 seconds and then pull down, hold for 10 seconds- resets auto mode.

can i suggest that you interior roof liner is such a fantastic finish that you replacate over all the soft touch areas of the interior..... eg bottom of the doors
In my car you leave the windows up and press any window switch UP individually into the first position until you hear a click. That resets it. 2002, European model.
What part of Socal are you in? The other day my drivers side rear window went all the way down fine and only would roll up about 70% of the way . I initially assumed it was the regulator, fuse , or car battery . Any ideas?
