#gijoe, #actionfigures, #hasbro
We cover Scarlett, Agent Helix, Jinx, Lady Jaye, Black Hat, Sherlock, Dawn Moreno, Pale Peony, Obake Obaasan.... versions from all around the world like Glenda or Quarrel or Sparta, obscure characters from little known eras and more. Развлечения
So which ones from this list should they make as a GI Joe Classified?
@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal, Great vid! I have my top 5 as Scarlett, Lady-Jaye, Helix, Jinx, Cover-Girl.
As far as who should be made... I say Pythona! I know, I know, she's Cobra... but I can't wait for Classifieds Pythona. But, I'd say BombStrike aka Bombshell for the Joe's.
I'm just starting the video, but all of them
Lady Jaye (Sunbow version) is my favorite of the Joe ladies, though I'd say Scarlett would objectively be #1 in importance and character development (certainly based on the comic). Something about Lady Jaye though...that husky voice, the attitude, the rough n' tumble look. When I think of what a female GI Joe would look like and act like, I think of Lady Jaye.
Oh yeah, the husky voice was hot.
Scarletts relationship with Snake Eyes and Stalker made her even more bad ass.
Scarlett with Stalker? I thought Scarlett had a relationship with Duke & Snake Eyes?
Stalker was best man at their wedding, where Snake Eyes left Scarlett at the altar (kinda lame) so I guess they are best friends?
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal oh ok. I don't have that issue then
Marissa Fairborne is also in some continuities is the daughter of Flint and Lady Jaye
Okay, yeah not just Flint's illigitimate kid. She has a really big history with many different versions, a fascinating character. I'd love to see @JLSComics do a video on her.
I can't believe they did my boy Salvo like that.
Right? I loved Salvo, He had the most batshit-insane weapon loadout.
The only difference for me is I prefer the Scarlet and Duke romance from the cartoon.
Blasphemy!
I never thought of it, until now, but the original toy of Cover Girl kinda looks like Lois, from Family Guy. lol
Yes, she does, But with a hangover
Great video! You managed to deep dive into the comics and find some really obscure characters! There were 2 other obscure characters, from the toy line, that didn’t get mentioned. Canary Ann was a Lady Jaye repaint, in yellow and red, and was a Funskool Joe exclusive. Also, Atena was another S. American repaint of Scarlett. She had a white leotard, instead of the tan one, that Scarlett wore. Atena was part of the Comandos Em Acao line.
I'm actually quite surprised we didn't get a Canary Ann repaint in classified. But then I guess they over produced two relatively same looking version of Jaye which probably led to lower sells and less interest in the mold. (she is my personal favorite female joe. her and Marissa Fairborne (jaye and flints canonical daughter in transformers))
Damn, that's some good knowledge.
@@Lazrael32 I wouldn’t mind seeing a Canary Ann in Classified, but you’re right. It’ll probably be awhile, before Hasbro would want to reuse that mold.
I agree with your rankings for the most part but I was fond of Dialtone II from watching Resolute and from finding that she was not a replacement for Jack Morelli but his younger sister. That said, a new codename would have helped her. 'Hotline' for example
Agreed, Dial-Tone was pretty cool. “Hotline” might’ve been a good code😮
Agreed, Dial-Tone was pretty cool. “Hotline” might’ve been a good code name, though.
Haha! Hotline is awesome. You know if it was the 80s that totally would have been her name
We need a female explosive expert named Bouncing Betty!! Lol
Awesome content as always!!! Ty for helping me forget about my hangover for a little bit😂
Happy to help!
I like Dialtone she is the sister of the orignal, I prefer bombshell too, she is the sister of Barrelroll and Blackout, I thought was another character name Mayday too, during devil due era
Even from the very beginning of the Sunbow era, Scarlett was portrayed as tough and highly capable-in the very first scene of the first episode of ARAH, we found out the hot-shot pilot of the Skystriker is Scarlett.
Love Love Love Scarlet, Cover Girl, jinx and Lady J - the Javelins doesn't make any sense BUT so satisfying. We ALL Bow to The Baroness.
Quarrel has a great color scheme look.
I can't argue with Scarlett as #1. She deserves to be listed as the main female character in G.I. Joe. However, my personal favorite was Lady Jaye (specifically from the cartoon). I just found her so attractive and sexy. She was a lady, but also a tomboy and her voice was perfect for the character. I also liked Jinx. She was probably the last figure I bought from the original 3 and 3/4 line. I remember really liking the card graphic and figure. Didn't know much about her as I was starting to move away from G.I. Joe into other interest at that time. Thanks for the video.
yeah, I feel like my top four are kinda neck-and-neck, with Scarlett at the top. But I love Jinx, Helix & Lady Jaye. They were ass-kicking women before ass-kicking women became a mocie cliche
My favorite women from the Joe team are Shooter, Stilleto, Lady Jaye, Freestyle, Bombstrike, & Cover Girl
Other favorites are Lt. Daina, Sparta, & Quarrel
All the females are super cool but The Baroness and Jinx will always be tops for me 🎉
I feel like Sherlock would be better if she just had a normal/realistic prosthetic arm
12:15.. most likely didn't use the "Bomshell" name because the Transformers already use it for one of the insecticons
Sherlock sounds exactly the same as Misty Knight - investigator, robot arm
Honestly, if they had such hangups about Salvo design wise, maybe just don’t use the character at all at that point
Yeah, there are so many damn characters, you can really just avoid them. There are hundreds of characters who never get used, For example: Mercer barely is used in the comics and he is one of the cooler ideas for a character
I was PR in the USMC and 'I don't believe in guns' would have gotten me beaten into a pulp. If you don't believe in guns (more accurately, 'I don't believe in USING guns') try not joining the military.
Yeah, it's a weird choice. It's like saying "I don't believe in eating meat" and then going to work for a factory farm
I only have 3 women of GI Joe so far. I have Lady Jaye, Agent Helix and Zarana. They are all good but I love Zarana and Helix. Those mantis blades Helix has are awesome
Glad you’re back brother. Been Jonesing for a list. Great video.
LOVE where you put Agent Helix. I’m completely fascinated with her. Just an amazing job they did building that character.
Big fan of the Shooter figure in classified but hard to place her much higher w/o the lore.
Lady Jaye, Covergirl & Jinx are all kind of interchangeable to me so I wouldn’t quibble with anyone on how they are listed so long as they all are right there together. I MIGHT have bumped LJ to the top of that group just based on her fight with Zarana in the comics, though I generally prefer the Sunbow version due to her voice there.
Anyway, great list and looking forward to the Cobra version too.
Thanks!
Awesome video. Gotta say Helix is a rocking character. Top 5 for sure.
Yes. love Helix. I really think she could take off
Just ignore me going right to Amazon and buying the Lady Snakeeyes statue. LOL
Yes, she's rather perky
Scarlet is bad ass so she’s always gna be my classic first but Doc’s niece is my personal favorite
Yeah, Lady Doc is pretty good.
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Straight arm Scarlett, Stalker n Grunt were my first Joes. So Scarlett and her red beaufont will always have that place lol
Great show man, look forward to the next.
Thanks!
It's funny, I think I may be one of the only ones (from the USA anyway) that was excited to see Classified Glenda. I got the pilot Scarlett figure in the 25th line thinking the blue, white and silver paint was a really cool variant not realizing it was a reference to Glenda (a figure I had never heard of). When they came out with the Shooter Classified figure, I thought it was a gender swap for Fumbles/Trouser Snake from the Robot Chicken episode. As for Helix, I got the Rise of Cobra figure thinking it was maybe some concept art they made for a movie Scarlett but didn't use it so they made a new character from it. Needless to say I was excited to see the Classified Helix. And I'm with you on Jinx though - I don't preorder many of the Classified figures but I made sure to preorder her. As for my top favorite, Scarlett was one of my first crushes as a kid - please note Cheetara was as well so maybe it's more about the one piece leotard? Now as an adult though, Lady Jay's voice from the original cartoon is something else LOL. Love the list, can't wait for the Cobra one.
#1. Tight Ship from Community
I co-sign this as number 1. Hahahaha
Well, if you’re going to count Tight Ship, then you have to count Three Kids as well!
i remember two big reasons to put her on the list.
"A character looked "Alt-Right", so we sex and race changed him to make him/her appease the Alt-Left"
Oooh scary 😲
Thanks for the list bro nice deep dive.
Quick Kick has that GF but she did go on a mission and was pretty badass too.
Okay, I tried to keep it to operators because if I included girlfriends it would go on forever, but I suppose if they kick ass, they could be included
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing more characters from other Joe franchises. I understand they probably wouldn't sell well but i think it's fun to celebrate the history of the brand. i wouldn't be surprised if we got freestyle as a lazy repaint/mold of shooter once the haslab comes out.
They brought a lot of them into the Collector's Club, so it is possible
I think Lady Jaye is my number one as well, though Scarlett is impossible to deny. Also I like Cover Girl and Jinx. Had not have heard of those at the bottom. Some... Choices there.
Yeah, pretty lame
Lady Jaye should be #2, no question.
Lady Jaye is my personal #1, but yeah, being objective, I'd probably put Scarlett #1, and then Lady Jaye or maybe Jinx at #2.
Although I would concur that “Agent” Helix has an incredible look and code name…I don’t feel she belongs in the Joe’ Verse; at least not as a regular.
Her abilities stray too far into the super-hero/ super soldier realm and she is essentially Batgirl/ Black Bat/Orphan - Cassandra Cain.
I assumed Stanley was named for Henry Morton Stanley, the journalist who tracked down the vanished missionary David Livingstone, producing the famous greeting "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?"
I enjoyed the list. Will there be a list for the Cobra ladies?
Yes, almost done with it
You are right that a lot of females like this stuff, because I Am one, and I have loved this stuff since the 80s
Honda Lou, entrepreneur!
well... honestly..my top five would be 1. Scarlet of course. 2. Lady Jaye, 3. Jinx 4. Covergirl because of what Devil's Due Comics did with her. I loved her with Shipwreck in that series. I even loved her team-ups with Shipwreck in the cartoon.5. Now Helix (cause yes I love the character.) Some will say Oh no she is woke.) pffft no she isn't. Stop that.) But I like her. I don't see the issue with her. She is completely original. He has an amazing look. I do enjoy it when she shows up in comics. I did read her solo story with the child trafficker. And she was just badass. I get why some would have her as number two. But I can't put her above Jaye, Covergirl, or Jinx. There is just too much love and history there.
As far as Scarlet goes...I could do a whole video on her if I wanted. There are so many things I love about her. Too many to say. I will say this. Staying with someone you love even when his face is disfigured says a lot about her character. but that's just one of many many things. Actually she is in my top ten favorite Joes of all time as well.
Yeah, that's why I love the Snake Eyes/ Scarlett dynamic rather than Duke/ Scarlett. It is so much more interesting that she is with this guy who basically has no face
Again great vid and again 70% of the characters i didn't know they existed... the gender swap is horrible!!!! they cant spend 5min to think of a new name and background for a character!?... Smoke Jumper, she's an elite sky diver trained by Ace... there that took me 2min, its not that hard!.... what happened to Gung Ho's hat? did you loose it?
Two swaps that I don't really mind are Doc, and Dial Tone. When I saw they swapped Dial Tone in Resolute, at first I was kind of shocked, then kind of shrugged. I mean, it's Dial Tone. The Salvo swap, now that's just bizarre, and really pushing it.
@@seanbeckett4019 No dude!!!... Dial Tone is NOT acceptable!!.... DOC 2 Electric Boogaloo... yeah i'll give it a pass.
I did not know half of these existed either. I think Gung Ho's hat is somewhere in my daughter's Barbie Dream House. Gung Ho forgot his hat
Love these videos
Thanks!
I always thought there was a female Joe codename "Dallas". Because in the episode "Lasers In The Night" the Baroness undercover as Lady Jay called one of the females she interacted with "Dallas", but I guess that was just a regular soldier.
And by the way my #1 is Lady Jaye.
Took a drink each time you said “badass” and I have to shains hilbsrf dhsiii. Slainte!
So you're probably pretty drunk right now? Glad I could contribute
If I remember right I allways put dial tones back pack on somebody like grunt or short stop clutch cause clutch didn't get to drive the jeep a lot but ide put dial tone with like flint and any one else with a green baray like stalker
Another great video, I did not know that there so many female Joes.
Me neither. Thanks!
Lady Jaye is my favorite Joe and Baroness my favorite Cobra. Never heard of Salvo until today. I think she's supposed to be Samoan, so she wouldn't be skinny.
Yeah, I'm good with a Samoan lady, and her being big and buff. I just don't like the gender swap. Justa. come up with a new character
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal I agree with you on that.
A classified figure of BombStrike aka Bombshell would be cool. What is your opinion of the pictures of the upcoming Alpine Classified figure?
Good vid. I agree with most, but I would’ve ranked Dial-Tone a bit higher. She was a good supporting character throughout the IDW era. Not too fancy, just a good team player.
In the comics Shipwreck and Cover Girl were a couple
Fantastic list. Scarlett is my number 1 but i feel like Lady Jaye could be number 1 and Scarlett 2 in general.
Bomb Strike figure came out during the doc series the one I remember. Bomb Strike, Silo, Capt Gridiron they need to put in classified also gotta to admit I I like red heads the the more the better Mayday and Sparta yes please in classified. And I thought dial tone female version was the daughter of the original dial tone
The best version of cover girl is the 4 in long hair red head but I actually like the classified version to
Did Lady Jaye wrong bro. For me, she's up there neck and neck with Scarlett. But really cool list otherwise.
Yeah, I can see that. I know putting Helix second is a hot take
Okay, I get the gender swap hostility in regards to the media perspective but as an 80s kid I was a toy guy not a cartoon kid and especially not a comic book kid. As long as the scale's were compatible all our toys played together. GI Joes flew X-wings and Storm Shadow had adamantium swords that were lightsaber-proof to fight Darth Vader. I would be happy if any of these characters got action figures because that expand my playverse by one more character. I seem to remember you having a kid. Wouldn't you want to expand his playverse with any one of these characters? Love the channel by the way. The ninja ranking video was fantastic and again I would love figures of any of ninja for the same reasons.
Hey, I'm down with a buff Samoan lady action figure, just call her something else. I definitely don't want Hashtag though. I dont think she would be any fun to play with.
But yeah, I like that perspective. Of this list, I most want a Stiletto figure, a Daina/Verona, and a Demon Granny.
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Yeah, that top three most wanted figure list is pretty hard to argue.
In your personal action figure collection playverse you can name the figures anything you want though. I guess I can see the reason Hashtag is such a horrible name, at first glance when I looked at your comment I thought you were taking a dig at "social justice warriors" and "hashtag activism" I forgot there was a character on the list named Hashtag. I'm pretty sure she'd get another speciality in my playverse. Even if "Social Media Influencer" was a role someone in my toy box needed to fulfill, it probably wouldn't be one of the military looking figures. That might be a job for one of those Super 7 Reaction girl figures like Buffy or the girlfriend from Karate Kid or that girl from Parks and Rec.
@@josiahalcorne Truthfully, I'm not big on the "lets be angry at woke shit" genre. Although there are moments when the woke shit is outta control,
Cool video. I had no idea there were so many female Joe characters, but I stopped following around 90’. I didn’t know woke swapping was a thing for GI Joe. Hasbro’s Joes were the leaders as far as I’m concerned in developing female characters, not to mention diverse characters overall. Totally agree - just put 10 minutes of effort creating new woke characters instead destroying old ones. I loved Dialtone. I had three. He was my troop builder when he wasn’t just Dialtone. Back to the lineup of top characters, Covergirl sucked as an actual toy - the sculpt just did not match the file card. Or she was a covergirl for Butch Magazine. My top four would be Scarlet (mentally the strongest of the original Joes, plus the coolest assortment of weapons on the figure), Jinx, Lady Jay, Cover Girl. Agent Helix seems like a great story. And granny ninja with the brick hand back is such an awesome concept, absolutely worthy of an action figure.
Yeah, I think there was a period in Devil's Due/ IDW where they decided to swap genders rather than come up with new characters. I highly recommend reading the Silent Option mini-series with Helix. It's one of the best stories ever in the GI Joe canon. (You can read it online btw, for free)
readallcomics.com/category/g-i-joe-a-real-american-hero-silent-option/
I Love the original trilogy of G.i.Joe Ladies. All of'em top 5 for me. However, Baroness is my #1! Baroness rules above'em all! 😁
Sitterson was the absolute worst thing to happen to GI JOE at IDW. Also..."the female "Dial Tone" from GI JOE:RESOLUTE was bad ass.
Have you considered reviewing some of the Forever Clever G.I. Joe construction sets? They’re … not great, but it seems like that line could benefit from some constructive feedback.
I'm not sure I'm gonna focus on reviews, because so many other channels do it better. Like @BaldyLockz Reviews, 3POA, Artist Shark. I think I'm gonna focus on lore
You forgot Bottom Line.
The female accountant.
Nice. We should keep this going
Scarlett, Raven, Jinx, Leila and Shooter for my top 4. With Scarlett being my number 1 pick. I actually liked the look of MayDay's look from Gi Joe Extreme.
Yeah, I have Raven on my Cobra list, There is a hint that she joins GI Joe at the end, but I dont think we ever see it
Doesn't Duke get shot in the back in issue #1 or is that like 3 or 4
Don't remember that. Wait, original series? I think Hawk gets shot in the back when he's fighting Destro on the back of a HISS
Scarlett is my favorite JOE. Baroness is still the best female character.
POW! I always thought about the reason for there being female Salvo dumb, since it was not only a poor reason but it could've been a lot more interesting. For example, the female Salvo could easily have been Salvo's daughter or at least his sister, or she replaced the old Salvo because maybe he died, was captured, or retired. But, they decided to make it a statement instead.
Yeah, if you want to make a big female samoan character, make one up. I'd be okay with it. But leave alone Salvo. Us bald guys need hero's too
Always been a Covergirl fan
Cover Girl is my top Joe, not just female.
You didn’t list Volga, which is actually a different character than Daina.
BRING IT!!!
Chuckles and Sherlock are both Army CID Special Agents. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Army_Criminal_Investigation_Division
Her *codename* is Glenda?
Right? How is that a codename?
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal is it a reference to something? Is there a famous Argentinian pilot named Glenda?
Is it female Dialtone his daughter?
10:58 😂😂😂
Wheres Tiger Stripe Bikini Zaranna???
In my dreams
🤣@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal
Let's see if Shooter is covered..
YES!
Dial-Tone wasnt supposed to be your basic gender swap. shes the sister of the OG who went missing during a Mission in Brazil and she took over his name. She joined mainly to look for her brother. And Doc, she is the niece of the OG that was KIA..I'm ok with these two. Salvo was just plain pandering
Why you did not mention Zarana character? she is also badass.
She's a cobra/dreadnok. This video is all good guys. I am making a video for the bad girls too
Hash Tag, is that a real thing?
Hashtag is real. Unfortunately
Stanley might be her last name 🤔
No, it's a code name. A badly chosen code name
Aubrey Sitterson got fired for this reason. He hates America but loves wrestling. Where he has found success. Hope he stays there.
The Baroness is the best.
Ohh snap will Smith is gonna slap your face!
great video. love the channel. this was brutal. so many lame characters. and people can give salvo crap all day which she deserves. but at least shes not a snake eyes rip off
True, although I think the male snake Eyes rip off is even shittier. At least Dawn Moreno makes a good cosplay
I'm calling the cops!
No raven?
She's on the Cobra list, although there is a hint that she is going to enlist at the end of the episode, I'm not aware of a time where she shows up again.
Stanley is my first name so yeah everyone I have ever met don't use that name funny my mom never calls me by Stanley
Thought SCARRLET messed with DUKE?
In the cartoon yes, but In the comics it was Snake Eyes, and it was a very prominent part of the ongoing story.
I thought Scarlett was Dukes girl?
Only in the cartoon. Her love story with Snake Eyes is so nuanced and epic in the comics.
Pale Peony aka Margarita Shiro is way higher on my list due to the Storm Shadow series.
Yeah, its a great series. Really well-written, and the art had a cool vibe
#
Glenda was the good witch lol, not a good code name
Lady Jaye would rank below most of the no names. Definitely lower than Dawn. Just never liked her
Blasphemy! 😤😜
Sherlock is a rip-off of Misty Knight from the Marvel Universe. Right down to the robotic arm. The same in Almost every way.
Oh damn, didn't know that. Makes her not as cool
Can't believe how shit the art is from these IDW comics!
Some of the IDW cobra series has some really nice art
So thinking a woman is hot is creepy 🤔
No, talking about how hot your action figures are, mildly creepy, but I'm not above it.
Lol
Yeah the female versions of these characters is so wrong because god forbid a 50 year old man gets his feeling hurt because his favorite character is now a girl. Who cares if other actual little girls get a chance to see themselves in GI Joe.
Lamest response ever. I said a million times I am fine with the character, just change the stupid name. There 450 characters in GI Joe, Create a new one and no one notices
IDW created the absolute worst characters. No wonder they lost all the Hasbro licenses.
True.
