That is a really sweet truck. I actually stopped my car last week in town to watch a cabover go by. It's great to see those old classics still working. Thanks for sharing the ride. Stay safe and God bless.
O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 That’s the right response when you see a cabover! I drove about 3 miles, flipped around & went back to the truck stop to catch up with a K100. I had my boys with me & we had a ball getting it on video. Cabovers Rule!Blessings.🥰🤩✌️
Kurt you gave that cabover lots and lots of love. You could start doing videos like this for all different types of trucks. You did an awesome job with the video segments. The different views were great. Thanks Kurt for what you do. Remember it was because of Opie I started following you. God bless and be safe.
Working trucks IS where its at! Couldn't look any better, regardless of how many shiny new parts you put on it. That's the truck in its raw beautiful form.
KURT MY DAD PASSED IN 1996 HE HAD 2 INTERNATIONAL CAB OVERS THEY WERE BEAUTIFUL ! EVERY WEEK END HE DID MAINTENANCE ON THEM ! THEY WERE BEAUTIFUL ! GOD BLESS BEAUTIFUL VIDEO !! OH HE HAD A B MODEL MACK CANDY APPLE RED !! GOSH I MISS THEM DAYS !
Shes a beauty.. 🥰 My first truck ride ever was in 1975, it was a 1973 cabover PETERBILT, hauling a milk tanker for IDFA, my husband worked for them, hauling from Florida to Wisconsin, I was 18, he was 20, what an experience, it got me hooked on trucking, I started driving trucks in 1979, still doing it today, but never driven a cabover. That was cool 😎
You should do a video & team run with Steve Fezchek of Freedom Wisconsin he has a 1984 Peterbilt 362 COE he calls Orwell from the book George Orwells 1984 Steve is a heavy haul dropdeck operator
My first experience driving a cabover i was 13 yrs old 77 Freightliner thanks for all you taught me Daddy Joe miss you Rip it's been 24 yrs since your passing! I still think of you daily!
I drove a 362 Pete COE double bunk 350 Cummins 13 speed 390 rear ends for a year in the late 70’s was good memories. Thanks for bringing them back. Enjoyed the video thanks again ✌️
Hi Kurt. That is a gorgeous truck. I used to drive a 83 Peterbilt 362. It looked just like that one except it was white and had the big glass with 3 wipers. It was a double bunk Meaning the bunk was wider I believe. It had a 350 Cummins and a 13 speed. Ok Kurt here's my story. We pulled in to the Cabazon truck stop near Palm springs California. the one with the big dinosaur's it was dark outside I opened the passenger door stepped out swung around reached out grab the bar and missed it I landed flat on my back. Thank God it was a dirt lot. I stood up shook the dirt off I was just happy I wasn't hurt. And glad no one saw me. Started walking to the truck stop looked over and there were 2 girls in a car laughing their butt off. I was pretty embarrassed.😂😂😂😂 But to this day cabovers have a very special place in my heart. I love the classic trucks. Thanks for the video it brings back memories. Great memories.
"A cabover Pete with a reefer on," song "Convoy" by C.W. McCall, 1975. When I was driving a cabover White Road Commander as an O.O. leased to North American Van Lines Electronics Exhibits fleet. Hauled all over the U.S. and a little in Canada.
Hey Daniel, speaking of C. W. McCall did you catch Kurt's video titled "Learn it now before you have to later". At 6:36 Kurt went through Pisgah. IA and he pointed out the cafe. Thats where C. W. wrote the song "Old Home Filler-Up An' Keep On A-Truckin' Cafe. Takes us way back.
Great video and great cabover I used to drive one 85 to 91 it was the best truck in the fleet well kept we hauled trash trailer the only draw back no power steering and a 8v71 Detroit and 10 speed God bless from GA and stay safe from GA
Very nice cabover, they do ride better stretched, take a long ladder for Opie, but he might like sitting on the dog house, he could see good, and yes you are first on the scene of an accident, good job Kurt.
Got my start riding with my father in a GMC Astro! I only got to ride in it and move it back and forth to load grain! But I got to drive a 1978 K100 Kenworth he drove so any time a cabover is seen you got my attention. Cabovers are cool.
I drove an 82 COE freightliner for a little over a year. It was always hot, loud and I haddda' crawl over the engine cover to hit the sack, couldn't wait to get outa' there. It was the KW 900 18 speed that I found true love.
You're right Schmidt loved the video! I drove for about 10 years when I got out of high school. I drove an 86 KW CO with a double wide sleeper. V8 Cummins with a 13 speed trans. I LOVED that truck! When that truck finally quit they replaced it with a day cab 9000 Ford nose truck with a 230 Cummins and that sir ended my trucking career. I hauled oversized loads on the east coast. Thanks for the memories looking out that windshield again.
The first Big Rig I drove was an International cab-over with no sleeper. We called it a "half-shack". It was ideally suited for the two flat deck trailers we used because it kept the weight down to 110,000 lb. GVW which was the legal limit when hauling three steel coils.
Mr. "Crossed Bones" Shannon has a damn sweet Cabby! Love those 362's! Especially with an N14 Celect Plus Cummins 😎. Another great video Kurt, sure I came for the W9 originally way back on episode 3 or 5 a few years back now, but I honestly stay for you now... Love how much your videos have improved over time! Great job Kurt, be damned proud of yourself eh
Good morning☕️ Happy Saturday. I am playing catch up b4 our son's basketball game 🏀 What a fun ride. I grew up in COEs. Love them. I do not think they will make a come back any time soon unfortunately. Sweet Peterbilt. Thx 4 taking us along. Have a blessed weekend💕
Great Video Kurt! He should be very proud of that 362. I had a 77 352 that I transplanted a CAT 1693 in after the 3406 spun a bearing. Sold it in 2006 and regret it to this Day. Awesome TGP
I drove cabovers for a lot of years. A few years in a Kenworth and many years in an International 9670. Drove one of those GMC fishbowls a few times. Windshield like a greyhound bus.
For 5+ years I drove a '96 362 with 36" sleeper and recessed exhaust. It's still in use in CA. I loved that driving it and have taken it thru most states west of the Miss. I like the two piece windshield better that one piece. This one is a beauty.
Good 'ol Petercar cabinover-I called it a 352 but do see it's a 362-one of the last of 'em. One of them 'ol girls is up here in far North Idaho-even longer wheelbase-enough room for a drop axle-which it has ! Don't get the super long wheelbase-out West here-yes-but ya need 2 counties to turn the dang thing ! Started my driving in a '86 9670 Cornbinder in 1994. Short wheelbase cabinovers made ya look real good getting into & out of real tight spots-but you were also 1st. at the scene of an accident. And we won't even mention the ride.
I drove for JMI Batesville Ark circa 1986 and when I first started it was a single bunk Pete cabover. After awhile they gave me a double bunk Pete and was joking to myself all the fun I would have in there with all the commercial beavers in the truckstops. 10-4.
I remember a day when those rigs were cutting edge. I had a 362, 400 and thought that thing was the lap of luxury. 30yrs later when I retired, the rig I had was like a Rolls Royce compared to that 362.
The cabover style is all we have here in the UK but we have more space above usually 6feet up so it's interesting to see the diffeerent variation. Are you enjoying being a passenger princess 😆 I hope you are enjoying your home time, the home videos are nice to watch as much as the trucking ones have a fab week to you and all the family
Thanks Kurt for sharing your ride in that cabover Pete. As my wife and I watched you climb up into the cab it brought back memories in the early 80’s as I was driving one as well. In 1979 I actually started driving a cabover Mack with a 5 speed transmission. When you said that you would probably fall out of the cab I remember watching young men as well as myself reach out and grab hold of the grab bar and slide down to the ground without using the steps. Of course you have to remember when winter comes you better be careful cause that bar would be icy. Thanks for the videos and pet Opie for us and we love you and your family.
1972 I was driving a Kenworth cabover with a Super 250 Cummins and a ten speed (after a short time driving it It had a Super Something else name!). About a year later with a different employer a Mack cabover with a 13-speed behine a 325 Cat. I really liked that one. As you know changes took me elsewhere driving an International, can't remember the model (9600?) 350 Cummins and a 13 speed. That one rode nearly as good as the Mack. Thanks for the video and the memoies. Geeze, that was 50 years ago.
They are beautiful trucks. A by gone era I guess. I'm 75 y/o and they remind me of my love affair with the Big Rigs. I can't thank you enough for this video. Maybe it's a sign of a better year with the OLD ways and values. I don't know but thanks. I've got to watch the video again. Happy New Year !
Great looking Peterbilt. They have been my favorite since I was a kid. My mom and dad gave me a framed picture of a 379 with a stainless corrugated trailer, titled 'California Hauler'. It's hung on my wall ever since. My first ride was in an Astro 95 with a chemical tanker. Neighbor of my grandparents drove for Detrex Chemical out of Ashtabula. Thought it funny that many of the KW K100's paint schemes had the angled notch at the back of the sleeper to make them look like a Pete from the side. Thanks for the video. Blessings --
Oh one more thing. That's one cool looking Pete. There was another truck in your next to us call rabinda. Trucks the same color except for they had a black pinstripe. They all music instruments for musicians all the big bands. Most of their drugs for cabovers. Keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up.😎.
Love cabovers, the only trucks we bought. We hauled swinging beef out of Liberal Ks. to the east coast , no way could we have gotten a long nose into some of those docks.
#175 Trucks like this can make the tight turns in Docks that have limited space, such as The University of Michigan Hospital Receiving Dock #5. We had one Driver that owned a cab over and handled that rig like a motorcycle. He was in and out in a jiffy!
Hi Kurt, awesome video!! Love witnessing the vintage ol' iron still hammering down the gears and hitting the pavement. She's a real gem! Thanks Kurt and Shannon for takin' us viewers along for the ride! Have a great day, keep on truckin'!
Love them Cabovers I always wanted one until a buddy was at a stop light and a large car ran a red light hit him in the left front wheel and ripped the cab apart on a ol Astro, I'll still love them but not going to drive one, maybe have a show truck is all. That's one sharp Pete and the imagination runs wild of chrome and things ta do.👍🇺🇸🤙
Hey brother, I’ve always love those old trucks like that but crack me if I’m wrong but some of them in the 70s and 80s had stretch the sleeper out where it was still tight but it had a bigger mattress. God bless you man.
My first cabover was a 74 Mack this one was rare had a 335 Cummins 13 spd. Reyco suspension it would run with the big dogs. Also had a 72 IH transtar 290 cummins 13 spd it had PS and a/c plus several others all good trucks but all rode rough and a chore raising the cab.
Watched your video and a lot of memories came back. I drove a 70's Astro GMC cab over for North American Van Lines for a short time but it was great. Not as nice as a Pete is, but still fun. That truck looks great and you did a super job. By the way your camping videos are also great.Be safe and enjoy.
I can tell you now the cab over has no draw on me, started driving 1972 and that’s all I drove for years, live like a dog piss on a wheel is what I called it. It’s just a job that you love and do it because that’s what you love, the conventional was heaven, I see a cab over I say gosh I’m glad he’s driving that not me.
Love the old cabovers first one I was in a K100e it was nice truck. Shame you don't see them must anymore but the ones you do they have put some time & money in them. Thanks for another great video
The first truck I ever drove was a Tri-Star cab over with a Cummings 250. That thing struggles to keep 65 mph with 15, 000 pounds. lol Ten speed but it got the job done. Sitting over the wheels is one rough ride. At least it was in the International. lol
Only thing bad about a cabover is your the first one on scene when it comes to a collisions lol. Me and my father redone a 86 k100 was in the 2012 Louisville truck show wish we would or kept the old girl. It was called the “color of money”✌🏼❤️
great video you can't beat a cabover that was a sweet pete i love cabovers i've got a 1979 white western star cabover in the process of being restored cabovers are making a slow comeback and i hope they make a full recovery in the trucking industry
I started in a 96 cab over in 96.It was a beaut.Gotta watch out for them potholes or else youll get hit on the nogging by the roof of it.Nicee Cab over beautiful
Very cool...... reminds me of the hey days of 70s
That is a really sweet truck. I actually stopped my car last week in town to watch a cabover go by. It's great to see those old classics still working. Thanks for sharing the ride. Stay safe and God bless.

Very nice truck, this guy should have his own RUclips channel. Everyone wants to see more of this truck, never gets old.
fsc trucking would love this just like his peterbilt
got to love the sound of that truck, God bless our drivers
Nothing like them ole school trucks nothing but things of beauty and definitely a work horse..... Keep on keepen on!!!

I drove a White Freightliner in the early 70s. Stay safe my friend. God bless you all. 🙏🙏🙏
Just a beautiful Pete. Drove one for Fitzsimmons out of Minnesota if anyone remembers them. Loved that truck. Shannon and Kurt truck it safe 😎
I drove a 362 Pete COE double bunk 350 Cummins 13 speed 390 rear ends for a year in the late 70’s was good memories. Thanks for bringing them back. Enjoyed the video thanks again ✌️
I like the old cab overs , in 92 for the first 5 years of my driving career I drove a cab over. A little ruff on the back but I loved driving them .

I was noticing how high up the cab is when cars were traveling by the opposite direction. Thanks for the video, Kurt.
Not knocking the cat but any video with an n14 is a winner to me. Cabover is a bonus too. Thank you for sharing.
These trucks are beautiful, reminds me of my childhood , thry should be restored and appreciated so everyone can enjoy them.
One down fall to cabovers is that you have to lay down to get dressed, still cool trucks

Swwweeeeettttt ....I'm so jealous. I grew up in one and miss it dearly
That was a great ride along. Nothing better than a cab over. It's going to be hard to beet this one. Great channel
I have big soft spot in my heart for cabovers. Especially stock cabovers. Shannon's is clean!
Lee was a Vietnam combat vet- and a surrogate dad when I was visiting my grandparents. Several other friends took up driving. I travelled, but in a service truck doing industrial and institutional service. Lots of road time. Didn't care much for the air tubes through the berth.
Thought it funny that many of the KW K100's paint schemes had the angled notch at the back of the sleeper to make them look like a Pete from the side.
Thanks for the video.
Blessings --
That is one bad Pete, really neet to see it working
Oh one more thing. That's one cool looking Pete.
There was another truck in your next to us call rabinda. Trucks the same color except for they had a black pinstripe. They all music instruments for musicians all the big bands. Most of their drugs for cabovers. Keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up.😎.
Nice guy, no-nonsense, and a beautiful COE. It sure looks like it's in top shape.
I had a 362 for yrs.loved that ole truck.you get used to climbing up and down.nice to be up a bit higher.that one was a 352 model.

So glad you got to go with crossbones. You looked like you were really having a good time.

That was just old school cool. Maybe you could give us an update on your old Freightliner someday if it's on the road again.
I love it True old school trucking , even got the ______-knob so cool
That was cool. I miss seeing cab overs on the highway.
great video , brings back memories of driving in my freinds k100 in the late seventees.
I'm an old school from WAY BACK there is nothing nothing like the old school trucks they sound different .
Love the old cabovers first one I was in a K100e it was nice truck. Shame you don't see them must anymore but the ones you do they have put some time & money in them. Thanks for another great video
Wow what a treat! Thanks so much! ❤
Great looking Peterbilt . Have you ever watched FSC Trucking on youtube he drives a 1984 cabover Peterbilt name Orwell.
I just talked to opie about the c.o.e. and he said "he'll no" & he said you was to old to pick him up and put him in the truck 🤣
That's a beautiful Peterbilt cabover you don't rarely see those that much on the road only certain occasions or truck shows
You need to do you bud! We are just along for the ride my friend.
Hi kurt, awesome truck. Real american iron
Amazing as always. God bless you all
Good video 👍🏽 I drove a few cab overs between 1975 and 85
great video you can't beat a cabover that was a sweet pete i love cabovers i've got a 1979 white western star cabover in the process of being restored cabovers are making a slow comeback and i hope they make a full recovery in the trucking industry
I started in a 96 cab over in 96.It was a beaut.Gotta watch out for them potholes or else youll get hit on the nogging by the roof of it.Nicee Cab over beautiful
Very nice truck!! Opie would never be able to go with you though.
Y’all stay safe!!
I grew up sleeping on the dog house of an International cab over before I drove one and got my license lol
The cab over is really cool 😎 👌
