Can you answer? Why did my clay turn from turquoise to a jade green when baked?

The colour of the FIMO effect- und transparent colours may change due to the hardening process. If this phenomenon also occurs with other colors this is caused by a too high temperature in most cases. The hardening time which we recommend and which is ideal for our oven-hardening polymer clay is 30 minutes at 110° Celsius (230° Fahrenheit). Since not every oven can maintain the set temperature or deviate from the set temperature by a few degrees, it is recommended to use an oven thermometer.

Usually mixing in FIMO Mix Quick (article number 8026) or FIMO liquid (article No. 8050 and 8051) is a good way to condition FIMO clay if the clay is not too crumbly yet.
It is important to store oven-hardening FIMO modelling clay in a cool place (best storage conditions are 10° C to 25° C at 50% +/- 10% relative humidity). If it is stored or transported at too high temperatures (over 30°C), even for only a short period of time (maybe in the car when the sun is shining), the hardening process will start, no matter how old the clay is.
      Best regards,
      Klara from STAEDTLER
