This video is what I needed today. Great content! Missed my fishing trip last month due to all the craziness. This video helped fill the void.....for now. Thanks for making the point that a big part of fly fishing is getting out and exploring. I love catching fish, but it's just as much fun to get away from everything and disconnect.
Nice video, thanks! You guys are good casters. I'm sure you had to probably edit out some backcasts into bushes, but I would have spent a lot of time untangling from branches I think.
Awesome videos! Just getting in to fly fishing caught my first trout on a trip to Idaho on the salmon river. Definitely a rush! Looking forward to exploring this new way of fishing!
RUclips recommended coming in clutch. Love creek fishing with the boys, love the vibe. Someone who truly earned that sub and like, can't wait to see more of your content this summer! Also sick stache, sported mine for a bit too this spring!
Awesome video man! I love the small creek stuff. This has inspired me to get off the beaten path and try to make some new content on a new body of water. Thanks for a great video!
The best places are always after you say "that's too far of a hike". And yes you are right about the camera gear, make use of what you currently have and it will still be amazing. Awesome video guys! Tight Lines!
I have had my best fishing when I go to the out-of-the-way places. I'm still learning (just picked up fly fishing last fall) and once I got the hang of it, I have fished a few well-known streams in the area. However, my best day ever was when I went to a tiny stream that was far from the main roads. In the space of 2 hours, I got at least a dozen fish and had an additional 6-8 strikes that threw the hook. While I want to go somewhere I can find bigger fish so I can have that experience, there is something so exciting about getting hits from wild, spooky, brook trout.
I live in Texas so my only trout stream is always overrun with people...but when I go off to college your content has inspired me to get out and do a lot of this stuff so I can't wait
Sup boys, i've been fly fishin NC for a long time and the coolest spot I have been is Hazel Creek. It empties into Fontana Lake. You may have already hear of it and fished there but just in case you haven't, you have to take a ferry over to the creek and it is a great help to have a cart for all of your gear because if you go, you have to hike quite a ways to get to the camping spots along the creek. My buddy and I caught close to 70 fish between the two of us within a couple of days. Larger browns hang out near the mouth, rainbows are mostly in the main creek, and brookies are stacked in the finger creeks that feed into the main creek. I recommend going in may, it is like a tropical rainforest up there. Lots of bears too!
Great video as always! Was hoping y'all would share the type of flies, set ups and specs y'all were using for those of us that are looking to gain some knowledge as well as enjoy watching some great fishing.
Loved this one and what a killer small stream you found - plus I think your message about just doing what you can TODAY, not when everything's somehow theoretically perfect is 100% right. I always hear folks saying stuff like "oh, well if I had a killer camera like those guys, I'd be making awesome videos". Nope, if you can't do it with a basic setup, all that a better camera does is magnify your mistakes. Keep it up guys, binge watching your stuff from the UK just now. Paul.
Amazing video brother, that was some real talk at the end man!! I’ve been doing youtube for almost a year now, all on my GoPro!! Loved this video serious positive vibes man, you get my sub!!!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Duuude another sweet vid! How do you get your GoPro footage so clean? Would you be able to do a video or story on what settings you use? I always struggle with getting some crisp footáge :(
Pretty awesome what you accomplished with just a GoPro! Curious which GoPro you are running and what settings you used to film in (Resolution and Frame Rate). The stability was awesome for a GoPro... assuming you are not on a gimbal though? Are you using your editing software to smooth out the footage? Are you color grading the footage in your software? As always... great stuff... I am aspiring to provide the quality content that you do and really enjoy the way you tell the story.
There's a couple things I'd like to say here. One being, that youre right about using what you've got and making it work. I've been making fishing videos on my phone (on my other channel) and they're suprisingly pretty decent looking aside from my own bad camera angles. Two, as a fellow North Carolinian, it's interesting watching your vids up in the mountains opposed to here in the piedmont because the fishing is so different
Starting our own fishing films here in BC, sorry to hear about your A7III in the shop! Was the issue fishing related? :) We're out here with the Fuji system, confident & it should hold up in the elements. Cheers and many thanks for all your vids man!
Great video guys. Did I hear a reference to Fins & Feathers in Bozeman. Favorite fly shop in Montana. Lots of great memories. Keep up the good work gentleman. Thanks for great escapes.
Same exact thing happened to our a7iii. Happened in the middle of the bush in Labrador making our film Big Land. Had a small Zoom recorder with me that I ductaped to the top of the camera and patched the Rhode. I’d just have to hit record on the camera and recorder at the same time and try to sync it later. What a nightmare lol. Sony repaired it up nice in the end, no problems since.
I'd go without toilet paper before I gave up watching your videos. Good thing that I don't have to choose. I'll be reaching out soon Scottie. Another great vid. Thx.
Hey man. Have you ever fished the upper section of the Nantahala near the Standing Indian campground outside of Franklin. Been enjoying your stuff. Keep it up
picked up a hat...keep up the good work...if you don't mind sharing, what was the name of the place in this vid. i wouldn't mind checking it out next time im in the area.
hey bud I got a question for u. what do trout need in their habitat to spawn? I own one half of a little trout pond that's stocked by the state. the trout that are stocked do really well in there but they never spawn. we created multiple area with different hard bottom but they never spawn. any thoughts?

“Make the most of whatever you are doing that day....”.....love that quote and a great sentiment for all of us to live by !
The quality of your videos is so top notch. Went back and watched a couple of your series. Greatest fly fishing channel I believe. Keep it up
Your videos are so enjoyable to watch! 🐟🐠 you need to come back to Idaho and have my husband show you our fishing spots!
A GoPro, good friends and trout stream makes for a great day fishing. Thanks
Ran into you today at the fly shop. It was really cool. I watched you get a new fly fisherman set up!!!
Catching wild trout out of a place like that is what dreams are made of, awesome video!
Beyond the Fly and WildflyProductions are by far the 2 best RUclips channels. I'm now headed over to the store. Thanks for posting
I love watching these videos. They get me amped up to get out and explore some of the streams by me in Michigan's UP. Keep it up man!

Fantastic video. Gopro is very capable. I make a lot of my videos solely with my gooro. Beautiful water. Well done.
So true what you said.
Really loved this video. It's about friendship and sharing the experience. Keep up the great work!
Nice video, thanks! You guys are good casters. I'm sure you had to probably edit out some backcasts into bushes, but I would have spent a lot of time untangling from branches I think.
Nice Stream, the video footage was fine, well done.
Awesome videos! Just getting in to fly fishing caught my first trout on a trip to Idaho on the salmon river. Definitely a rush! Looking forward to exploring this new way of fishing!

Nice casting the branches on the oposite bank seemed pretty close to me.

Amen brother 👊🏻
I was wondering where this was filmed until I saw AMB, and I knew this was WNC. Best trout fishing on the east coast.
Such great videos and a positive message!! Love it
So Rad!!!! Thank you!!!

Yep, we’re very familiar with Hazel. Check out our “5 Miles Out” series, to see our trip there!
Love these camping /fishing vids
Awesome trip, beautiful spot!
Hey guys, great videos. I am from TN, lived in the Tetons for 14 years, and back in TN. I'd be happy to answer any questions about WY, ID, MT fishing
Fantastic. Really enjoyed this video.
Awesome vid, especially for a GoPro.
Top guy! Amazing river and adventure fishing!🎣🔥
Great work Scottie, well done and way to make do with what you got! I'm sorry to see the Sony go down!
I fish a small stream like this all the time. Just getting into fly fishing. What flys were you using?
Great video as always! Was hoping y'all would share the type of flies, set ups and specs y'all were using for those of us that are looking to gain some knowledge as well as enjoy watching some great fishing.

Love the Futurebirds hat!
Great video man. This encourages me to keep making films. I guess it's not the numbers that's important, rather the enjoyment.
This is a great one bro
Really nice. Thank you 👍👍
Great video 👍🎣
Duuude another sweet vid! How do you get your GoPro footage so clean? Would you be able to do a video or story on what settings you use? I always struggle with getting some crisp footáge :(
What type of line are you guys using for this type of fishing ?

This is awesome. I live in Charlotte and went to App…where is this stream!?
the long of the leader? what indicator use??
Fantastic video, what GoPro are you using? I have just started fly fishing and videoing on a GoPro but the detail on your videos are fantastic

Loved the video if you ever find yourself in utah I could get you into some nice fish keep it up bro!
Great video. 1st time watching. Wish we had nice trout streams in my area like that. I subbed.

Tight Loops gotta love the ingenuity!
Random question, where you get that green/orange hoodie?!
When fishing upstream and drifting down why wet flys are you using.
Nicely done fellas! My best is from my GoPro, but the SLR sure makes for better overall presentation. Nice work. :)
I'm pretty sure external microphone is only going to work in a 'movie's model. Custom mode 1 or 2 wont let it work. That's the case with my a7iii
Awesome video!
Too Cool for School man !
good stuff! that stream is a dream come true. one day you tell me?
I can't speak english but i like fishing i look you guys the best
Great vid man def checking out the new apparel
Do it man!
Do you use furled leaders on these small streams? Wondering if they can work well with BH wooly buggers, I’ve heard they’re good for dry flies mostly
Very nice. What nimpha you fishing?
What weight rods were you using?
"long distance release" is now my phrase when I don't set the hook properly.
AMAZING VIDEO!! How does this channel only have 21k subs???? Keep it up WildFly!!
I'd go without toilet paper before I gave up watching your videos. Good thing that I don't have to choose. I'll be reaching out soon Scottie. Another great vid. Thx.
Haha thanks Mike!
Awesome video! Love it. I'd love to see your export settings for this gopro video. I can never find the right settings for the best gopro footage
Hey man. Have you ever fished the upper section of the Nantahala near the Standing Indian campground outside of Franklin. Been enjoying your stuff. Keep it up
GoPro's are the best camera for carrying less gear and doing more fly fishing
PhelpsOntheFly amen brother
Curious, what weight fly rod and reel?
Awesome stuff! The new merch is sweeeet.
So glad you dig it!
picked up a hat...keep up the good work...if you don't mind sharing, what was the name of the place in this vid. i wouldn't mind checking it out next time im in the area.
What software you edit with? I have free resolve 16 but for a rookie editor its pretty hard. Something easier? or is it just a learning curve?
I use adobe premier pro. there are plenty of awesome free versions out there as well as a more inexpensive option being final cut pro.
@@WildFlyProductions thanks for the response.

Nice Melanzana
Awesome vid

Great vid again!!! Love the trip!! Best of luck on the new merch!! I will check it out.
Question, do those pants have booties in them? Thanks
Thanks Scott! I unfortunately forgot my booties so I had rocks in my boots all day 😂
WildFlyProductions can you tell me what brand they are please? Thanks
Any plans to make delivery available international? I'm over in the UK - a big fan for the channel/content and wanting to support.
