@@nazzee23 I'd say they did have egos, but were quite afraid to lash out at Fergie out of respect. He's not the type to buy mercenaries either, his investments has been into young emerging talent, or players under the radar, as long as they're not world class at the time, each would be in his debt for giving them the opportunity for fame and exposure on the big platform. Van Persie was probably the only rare exception, but he was hungry for trophies, and even he respected Fergie so much. Over the years he had gained such profound respect, felt like United players played for him, not for United. When he left, that urge to win was gone. He was United.

Prior to his coming on the football scene, I bet many football fans outside Scotland never heard of Aberdeen F.C. Anybody who could break the dominance of Celtic and Rangers with their limitless wealth in the 1980's has to be respected.

Never meet Sir Alex, he was and is a unique football manager, it’ll be years until another manager comes along as good as him.

Very interesting comment about luck, those United teams were very lucky. When Napoleon was asked what quality he most looked for in a general, he said luck.

Of course, he realised that, after Sir Alex retired. He had to endure Moyers after Sir Alex .

She ferguson wrote all those books disrespecting his players that helped him win trophies....that tainted my opinion of him quite a bit and I'm a big united supporter.

I think if pep or loop heritage not a full of superstar players like Sir Alex used to when they had along injury list, like 2or 3 season before he retired, they will fail to completely. Sir Alex can turn average players be a top. Fletcher, o she'a, brown, cleverly, just for example.
