Remember...... He took a little team like Aberdeen FC to the European Cup Winners Cup Final and beat Real Madrid 2-1 that is most probably more of an achievement than anything he's ever done at Man Utd.
Coppertunes he worked in a pub at a dock in SCOTLAND. The man is undefeatable.
Prior to winning the cup winners with Aberdeen, he won the Scottish cup with a lowly St Mirren side
Fergies SPL title win in 1985 with Aberdeen is the last time Celtic or Rangers haven’t won a league title.
@@chrismcsweeney553 Wow
Andy Galloway St.Mirren won the Scottish Cup in 1987 by which time Fergie was at United. He did,I agree, start the revival at St.Mirren, gaining promotion to the Premier League from a previously lowly position,I believe.😊
I don't think he realised how good he was, he probably thought the squad he left behind was good enough but really there were a lot of average players he made perform at a level they never will again
on a hindsight, it was a miracle to win with a team composing of welbeck, young, valencia, cleverley, anderson, 39-year-old giggs and carrick as first team regulars...
MSA99 actually he knew the team needed building again but CBA to do it so retired and I'm a man u fan lol
@@chanwilfred3466 Carrick was the best DM in the league at that point
Didn't that last time win the league by over 10 points and the same team after he retired finished eighth, I can't remember tbh.
Fergies achievements will never be repeated, not in this day and age.
even Young played very well
Best manager to ever live.
Alex Ferguson had his own way and i appriciate that but Peps in a different league altogether, just have to watch 2008/09 and 2010/11 CL Finals to know that.
TG no he isn't
No he Aint!! Shankly & Stein are the Greatest. Ferguson learned an awful lot off the 2 of them and would not have got the success he did without it. They done it with a lot less than Ferguson had.
+luke tyson13 your obviously a wee boy who thinks a footballs square". When your just out your cot go and learn then open your cake hole.
Fergie, cloughy aswell. I honest think my mum could win the CL with that barca side pep had
I fell in love with United because of Beckham then when he left it was Van Nistelrooy, teenage Rooney, Ronaldo but when Ferguson left I couldn't find anything to love about United or football. It makes me think his genius was what made me love United. King of the PL!
anime watts The lack of planning for his departure and subsequent horrendous managerial appointments pretty much killed the clubs future. As it stands Mourinho restored some pride with the trophies last year but the league has been abysmal recently.
XxV3NGEANC3xX yeah he left with a aging squad but then again he won the league so there shouldn't be an excuse. Mourinho man he's going to leave the club in a bad state he does it at every club I preferred van gaal cos atleast he was trying to build united up with youth
Cantona made me a United fan even though my brother was a United fan before I started watching football he didn't influence me but he told me watch this player.
anime watts Van Gaal just couldn't get players that worked well together. Thats what Mourinho is in the process of doing at United now.
I have the same feeling bro Sir Alex was something else greatest manager ever to grace the beautiful game
There might be better tacticians and coaches around in football...but no one will ever come close to Sir Alex in terms of people management..staying at very top for 30 yrs is no joke
Manish Lall what he did at Aberdeen is almost more impressive
Agree with that comment and I'm from Manchester
Manish Lall 26
He's probably right up there with nigel clough as the premiership best manager imho
Mohd Nazri brian clough?
In Glasgow, we are immensely proud of Sir Alex Ferguson and everything in football, he's achieved.
Remember when Fergie started 7 defenders against Arsenal in the FA Cup and won?.. There is no manger in the world could do that but him.
In 2011. Da silva brothers playing as wingers. I remember that. Of all people Fabio scored against them.
and he played a 2nd team in champions league semi final 2nd leg while the team was only leading 2-0 in first leg... no managers in this world have the gut to play 2nd team in champions league semi final!
Chan Wilfred and gibson scored against bayern munich!
Yeahh.. When I look at the lineup I think he was crazy. End up I staying outside the stadium and keep listen of ppl cheering when goals!! Lol
The only MANAGER in the world who able to use ASIAN in winning so many rounds of English Premiere League, FA Cup, Champions League and so on....I can't even score in PSP by using PARK....damn!
as a liverpool fan, i agree with Rio,alex was a genius, season after season man utd finished on top
I remember when Sir Alex started Welbeck vs Real Madrid in the Champions League and I thought it was very very strange. However Welbeck dominated the midfield that game and canceled out players like Modric and Ronaldo completely. If it wasn't for a terrible referee who sent Nani off we would've gone through quite easily. One of many moments Sir Alex showed his brilliance.
Liasos88 nani taekwondo kicked him a guy in the chest.
I AM BATMAN Was never a red card, very soft kick and Nani didn't see the player.
Liasos88 Nani didn't see the player though, so it was a split-second decision by the ref...
@@iambatman6763 The player had no chance of getting the ball before Nani and ran into him. Nani wasn't at fault
Even Mou said, "The best team didn't win the match."
Man management was Sir Alec's greatest skill. How he handled the ego's of players of the caliber of Ronaldo, Cantona, Schmeichael and Keane is the stuff of legends.
Not really..none of the United players during his time were the egotistical type..would love to have sir alex have a crack at coaching real madrid thou..now that's a club full of egos and a one minded chairman
@@nazzee23If the board backs him up, like utd did, he would have would have gotten rid of the players who acted like they were bigger than the team, if he can do that in utd, he can definitely do that with Madrid
@@nazzee23 I'd say they did have egos, but were quite afraid to lash out at Fergie out of respect. He's not the type to buy mercenaries either, his investments has been into young emerging talent, or players under the radar, as long as they're not world class at the time, each would be in his debt for giving them the opportunity for fame and exposure on the big platform. Van Persie was probably the only rare exception, but he was hungry for trophies, and even he respected Fergie so much. Over the years he had gained such profound respect, felt like United players played for him, not for United. When he left, that urge to win was gone. He was United.
I miss sir Alex ferguson when he was at man united it was a glory glory days for us I miss those good old days 😢
THE king its just 4 years ago, not so old
@@madmechdar3894 7 years dude 7 years
@@samkanjiani4182 when he commented that it was 5 yrs
@@madmechdar3894 aleady 8 years bro :') where our epl tittle?
Amazing interview. Ferdinand is a great history teller 👏👏👏🙌
best manager in the world
Aslam Bakar, "was."
Pep Guardiola is better.
Everyone entitled to his or her opinion!
halfvolley11 pep might be more creative but he’s not half the manager Ferguson was
halfvolley11 ferguson is miles ahead of pep pep will never be close to him
Cant stand Ferguson but its quite clear that he is the GOAT.
Best manager to ever embrace the game
Brian Clough and Alex Ferguson are the two managers I hold in the highest regard, I remember John McGovern saying about Clough "He is not my type of man, I wouldn't want to go out for a pint with him. But work for him? I would walk across the Sahara desert to work for him!" I imagine there are a lot of ex-United players who think exactly the same about Ferguson
Keane being the obvious one to mention. Him and Sir Alex can't stand each other ever since they parted ways, but when they were working together, they were winning trophy after trophy.
I remembered once when SAF played Carrick and Fletcher in CB and J. S park in RB in UCL against Wolfsburg... Owen scored hat trick 🔥🔥🔥🔥
its true. we can never be mates. big ups to the man.
not even MUFC fan but SAF was a legend, like a Bruce lee or an Ali in the world of football managers
I miss Sir Alex at United, I had always feared what United may become after the great scot and my fear has come true, he was a genius of guy, it was a pleasure to see his style of football
When he left. Man U became a shadow of former self.
Ferguson was brilliant no one will ever replace him top class manager
Aye, he gave that club presence and purpose. To the point I think many games were won long before kick off. Such was the belief in his teams both within and without.
Sir Alex Ferguson. The greatest Premier League manager ever.
We can not stress how much of a legend he is
Love Rio he’s a legend at Utd. would love to see him back in some sort of coaching role
I’ve never took anything for granted as much in my life as the Fergie-Era
Glad I got to live through his entire tenure at United and got to witness what he achieved
Moyes made that realisation
Harsh
Ferguson played gibson n cleverly in midfield n we beat bayern 3-2 but unlucky to exit CL. We use to have lotsa average players but they delivered.
Players come and go but when sir Alex left it’s just never the same again
wonderful words...
This is why people always say when watching football games in the past that there were more legends back then. Legends make their name with time, it will not be until many of this current crop of players retire that we realise how good they truly were.
Many words from all comments, for me just one word GENIUS!! YES HE IS!!
Im a blue but total respect to SAF. We only hated him because he was staunch united and so good lol
Amazing management
I am united fan.... yes he is a genius he even made average players look world class
Great Man indeed good at hos job👍🏿
im an arsenal fan for about 8 to 9 years now and henry was one of my favourite players growing up but Fergy literally beat arsenal with 8 centerbacks one time.... thats fucken insane - let alone all his medal ware
I think Fergie’s best achievements were in his last few years with the team he had. Especially after Ronaldo left, he still managed to make another CL final and won the PL and that same team Moyes finished 7th with.
If mactominay trained under SAF he is a beast
best manager of all times
SAF..
THE MAN
THE MYTH
THE LEGEND
Liverpool fan but 100% agree. Man is the king of PL managers
He knew what the new America owners we're doing to club he left at right time
Rio speaks the truth a red legend
As essential as the players are, it is a great manager that wins trophies. The manager matters the most.
There will never be another manager like him. Like Sir Matt, they made Utd.
Greatest of all time
The way he had transformed some average players and became champions was some kind of magic. Most of them are very mediocre and they had to compete with the noisy clubs like City and Chelsea with their unlimited money, but still they succeed. Sir Alex Ferguson is the greatest football manager of all time.
Thanx God we have Ole now... 👍
Chelsea Fan here but Sir Alex Ferguson is the best manager to touch the PL for a very long time. Maybe EVER
His tactics of sending Moyes to Sunderland even worked out for him!
The goat
Sir Alex Ferguson is the GREATEST football manager of all time. Period.
Prior to his coming on the football scene, I bet many football fans outside Scotland never heard of Aberdeen F.C. Anybody who could break the dominance of Celtic and Rangers with their limitless wealth in the 1980's has to be respected.
What Sir Alex Ferguson achieved at Manchester United may never be surpassed by current and future managers.
With due respect to the present managers, Sir Alex is king, the others are pretenders to the throne.
Top legend fergie
Best manager in the world
what I love about Rio he is too open..every straight and simple rather than the rest of footballers
That's all fine and well but who the hell is vengga???
akib2542 vengaboys init
akib2542 your Mum
The character from street fighter
wenger
Rio is great with his word, I loved it when he said; "he's, he's, dur durrrr, fitness, dur du durrrr, whatever". Paul Daniels'esk.
Best manager ever from an arsenal fan
Best Manager Ever in Football History
I remember in Champions League against wolvesberg where he let Michael Carrick and one midfield to play CB... And won 3-1(if I'm not mistaken) and Michael Owen scored an hat-trick.
People say Pep is better than him.
0:42 he was talking about chicharito
Can I just say. Tactically he was the best. The way his teams played and they always crossed the ball at the right moment. I don’t see that from any team these days. He also had Scholes who could never be touched in the middle of the park. Everybody else who was technically not the best was used through motivation.
GOAT
There'll be only one Fergie
Sir Alex Ferge
Best thing is every player Alex Ferguson has coached , All the players calls him "Sir" even today
They call him sir because he was given a Knighthood by the Queen in 1999 for services to football.
While I'm not claiming David Moyes is an all-time great, the drop-off over a few months was staggering. By United fans' own admission, that was far from their strongest ever side. Fergie fashioned another championship out of them with games to spare. Unbelievable.
It wasn't until Rio retired that we realised how thick he truly is.
I wonder which fellow team-mate he thinks shouldn't be playing, but actually performed. Good team-spirit there Rio.
I remember he put only van nisterooy only as forward
Where can i see this full "inteview"?
As a United fan since young SAF would be chewing gum when game started & I know for sure he meant business till final whistle , not a single players get away scot free, everyone got a mouthful of his saliva... that brought out the character of a man which should be the way a manager should be , it's not about fear or threat. It's all respect & being real men will go out fighting for Sir Alex Ferguson.
Yep
If he was england national coach during the golden era englang mght win atleast the euro cup
fergie was a master of man management
Me too
As an Arsenal fan I obviously hate Man United but Ferguson is just the GOAT..
Wow
Never meet Sir Alex, he was and is a unique football manager, it’ll be years until another manager comes along as good as him.
ABERDEEN. ....LOOK WHAT HE DID AT ABERDEEN. .THAT'S ENOUGH TO SHOW HOW GREAT HE WAS
I miss fergie
Very interesting comment about luck, those United teams were very lucky. When Napoleon was asked what quality he most looked for in a general, he said luck.
In other words Rio is tuning it was laka in the time sir alex was about but then when he dipped it was bookie for the team exeh “
Of course, he realised that, after Sir Alex retired. He had to endure Moyers after Sir Alex .
2nd greatest manager ever behind Cruyff
Fergie is the capo of English football.
💯
How is Clare Balding still on TV!??
Because she is a woman and also a lesbian , she is sorted for life.
We didn’t appreciate just how good Ferguson and the like of Wenger actually were
13 PL titles is sick
the guy got buy the likes of fletcher to score at important games, o shea to defend a goal. park to man mark europe best. amazing manager.
She ferguson wrote all those books disrespecting his players that helped him win trophies....that tainted my opinion of him quite a bit and I'm a big united supporter.
U call it disrespect ,I call it being honest. No one is here to stroke ur emotions.
I think if pep or loop heritage not a full of superstar players like Sir Alex used to when they had along injury list, like 2or 3 season before he retired, they will fail to completely. Sir Alex can turn average players be a top. Fletcher, o she'a, brown, cleverly, just for example.
Red army red army !
I really don't think alex would actually let Rio jsut absolutely swearing at him in Alex's face without fuckinh swearing at him back 🤣
Great to hear him talk about him ,best manager in Scotland except the great jock stein even Ferguson says it himself a true great big jock !!
Shows how thick Rio is, Fergie was obviously a genius
