Last time I was there was 1975. Loads of new houses, entire new neighbourhoods built since then. Glad to see it looks so prosperous, and even a few trees now! Hope there are still tons of birds and fish. And gorgeous knitted goods! Ought to revisit, once the pandemic is done. Go, Shetland!
Very enjoyable, thank you for the treat. As an American I was surprised to see cars parked facing the wrong way on the street--here that's a ticket for sure.
Thanks Jimmy. I'm reading Ann Cleeves' Shetland series, with that other Jimmy, Perez. I use Google Earth to locate places, which your vid drove past (or along - Commercial Street). It gives greater realism to the books to see where they're set. I'll never see Shetland itself, too old and too far away (Australia), so thanks again. B
We came a couple of times on the P&O mini cruises, the last time was in 1996, and would have to agree that Lerwick is not the prettiest town but it is a very small part of Shetland. The rest of Shetland is absolutely stunning. We are hoping to come up for a week next summer so these drive around videos really help getting my bearings.
Great vid Jimmy. We're hoping to move up there soon. If you're ever up near Yell please can you make a video of that. Hard to find much about Yell on youtube.
Check out this Facebook page. facebook.com/groups/534544933296128/ James McNab does a lot of vid's while driving his delivery van. He might have something.
Well Jimmy, I cannot say that I'm overenthusiastic about the architecture in most of your video. All very non-descript, utilitarian and lacking in architectural imagination. Never mind, at least it wasn't as bad as the soundtrack. Thank you for taking the time, and the courage, in presenting your recording to the world. For this, and nothing more, you get one thumbs up!

surprised somewhere so remote looks like rest of Britain. Not sure what I was expecting. Maybe dragons or something.
I loved my two stays in Shetland and of course Yell and burravoe are deep in my heart, I would emigrate tomorrow from new Zealand ❤❤❤
Beautiful Scotland in my heart forever
Great video. Lerwick's bigger than I thought.
...and there's lots more.. :-)

Very interesting. My Grandparents immigrated to South Africa from Shetland. Live in London now and would love to visit
Oh dear did not expect anything like that, well that saves me a trip.
Love it!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for doing this! Do you live there?

Lovely. Hope to go there someday. I didn't see anyone riding a bike.
Hi people ive just recently found out about shetland islands i wanted to ask how many cities and towns are there in the island
Larger than I thought. Some nice areas but some depressing ones. Like most places I suppose.
It’s a lot bigger than I expected, but very bleak
STOP! it is heaven!
