  • This video shows you how to transform a cloud mesh (based on a "STL" file) into a proper surface.
It is a reverse engineering topic where you have a hull that you cannot work on.
With the dedicated Digitized Shape applications, you can transform this mesh into a surface using the Surfaces Network feature.
This method is different from the PowerFit, you create a grid on the mesh, that you fill with small patches.
This procedure is less automated, so you need to join and heal the patches together.

How did you import the stl?

Hello Mathias, to import the STL, you need to be in the Reverse Engineering application first (digitized shape or printing), then click on the "+" button on the top-right corner. You will have a scroll menu. Next to the Import button you have a small arrow, click on it and you shoult see STL file option.

Hi Mathias, you need to go to digitized shape application (or 3d printing application) and select the small arrow next to import button. You should see a command called "import STL"

@@techwithdharma959 Well, this is pretty much the whole scenario for basics. I will try to make more reverse engineering video in the future, but you still have 3 videos on the channel that are covering most of the features.
