  • Hello everyone :)
I recently participated in a CATIA Talk and it was awesome! I've been invited by the CATIA Team to perform a live demonstration of the 3DExperience Release 2021x On Cloud.
I wanted my topic to be useful and original. So I decided to pick something that I guess few CATIA users actually know it exist: Constraint Animation in Sketcher.
This feature allows you to animate a 2D mechanism in a sketch. You just need to draw different shapes that represent parts, assemble them and control a free constraint. In that case, I created a Piston mechanism and I control the rotation angle of the crankshaft.
Watch the video and learn more about the capabilities of mechanism animation in Sketcher. The scenario is very easy to reproduce so feel free to try it and test new mechanisms :)

Thank you for the video. Mr. Maxime, could you describe functional about the "impact manager" in assembly features (Hole, cut and etc). It's a real issue in CATIA V5 when assembly features are active even on parts. SW has option "Hole Series" which allow to deactivate assembly features on parts, but it will be active in assembly geometry. I want to create drawings of an assembly with as.features and drawings of part without these features in same time. Thank you.

Hello Федор, thank you for your kind comment :) When you have an assembly with 2 parts impacting each other (there is a collision between the parts) you can do assembly feature like hole or protected volume. For instance 2 parts: Block and Screw. The Screw make a hole in the Block. The Screw is not changed, but the Block will have a hole. In the Block, you will find a Solid Impact and an Impact manager with the different representation of Impacts. You can access easily the assembly feature by right clicking on the impact representation -> go to specification and you can modify the feature. To sum up, Impact Manager is just a quick access to all impacts on you part and a shortcut to modify the features. For your drawing, I do not know if you can do it by deactivating the assembly features, you will have issue at update. You should try Markup instead: ruclips.net/video/AoExK8vfslc/видео.html

@@MaximeChagnot Hi, PLM Technology. Many thanks for your instant answer and attention. So, I hope we'll get that in future releases, because if I have Assembly Futures (AFs) which appears on an assembly level in an assembly (for example - for manufacturing together) when I have to create more similar parts in CATIA V5. I mean, I create one kind of parts without AFs for parts drawings and another for an assembly drawing. So, I've been trying to use 3DEx 2020x for solving that issue. By the way, there's a good functionality with work of different 3DShape in one assembly. If I have two 3DShape in one assembly when I can hide one. So, only another 3DShape will be projected on a drawing.
