As a new comp dancer and have been dancing for 10ish years and 3 years serious. This is so relatable, the hours of hair, makeup, costumes, and stretching.
Because the 3 minute dance is very impressive and you want to look professional for it! That's what I tell myself for theatre- also side tangent just because I'm really excited about it, but right now I am learning phantom of the opera songs in vocal lessons and I might sing 1 or 2 of them for a recital, and I am so excited about it that if I actually do sing those songs for the recital, I feel like I have to look my best to be in character! I'm 17 and we don't do a lot of shows at my school so I am very excited that I have the opportunity to get to do songs like those. One of the songs I'm learning is a duet though so I'm probably going to have to see if I can get one of my friends to join me because he has the perfect vocal range for it and also likes doing solos/duets so I think it's the kind of thing he'd think is fun. It's also very dramatic, and he likes singing dramatic stuff, especially if he gets to have some kind of accent.
