I just saw your video and did notice a NEW PICNIC TABLE DESIGN but upon reading the words "digital download", it got me discouraged, upon ascertaining the wood plans. I did read that it's in "PDF" format! But I'd have to purchase, in order to receive those 9 sheets, including the video. So I'll just have to enjoy, in just having WATCHED the construction of the picnic table. Thank you
I am a high school construction teacher in Florida. We make and sell a whole lot of picnic tables and this will be a great addition to our table line. Including the plans like you have is such a blessing for my students and our program which we fund through selling things the kids make. The picnic table my students designed, produce, and sell is basic yet quite unique. If you’d like the Sketchup plans for it, I could provide them since it might make a nice build video for your channel. You could even come to our shop and shoot the video of you building it with my students. High school construction programs are a valuable thing to promote. Just a thought. Thank you again April!
April you are my absolute favourite wood worker on youtube. Lots of tips, reasonable builds and I like how you also show your screw ups and how to solve them
What an amazing design, April. I'm agree with Scott. The open end is every bit wheelchair compliant. I have a granddaughter who is in a wheelchair. I will purchase the plans and build one (at least) for her family. Thanks for sharing the video as well as the plans.
I saw this design a few years ago. Used as seating outside a restaurant on a patio squeezed onto a city street. I took pictures but never got beyond that. Now, I’m off to your website to get the plans. Great video April. It’s nice to watch your evolution over the years. Thank you!!
@@AprilWilkerson it would be nice to order the plans for this picnic table as well as others but however and for whatever reason my card is declined on your side and it would be nice if there were contact number to see if I can order this over the phone.
won't last long with glue and deck screws unless it's never used, notice the LONG furniture bolts into threaded inserts or barrel nuts in the angled support on the last shot.
@@AprilWilkerson Is there be any other method of ordering the table plans, besides pay for it? If there isn't? Then I'll just miss out, in impressing myself as an amateur carpenter, by building this table
I finished mine a few days ago. Once I got the cutlist finished I found it easier to just watch this video to assemble than to go by the instructions. I think my second one will be a lot easier now that I see how everything goes together. I used untreated lumber and then sanded a little and then really soaked it with boiled linseed oil and it looks fabulous. I even ordered the Triton super jaws and love that tool.
Kudos to you April--I couldn't build that on my own no matter how much time I had--I just don't have your skill set--but I do enjoy your videos Thank you Tim
Yes, many of my Viewers aren't Makers/Builders but still enjoy my channel for the entertainment factor. They enjoy seeing what I'm up to next. Thanks for watching.
April - Great looking functional table for two, which as you demonstrated can easily be expanded for seating for two by sliding two tables together. Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you, your family, and your crew.
April this is an amazing design! We need a couple of these on our farm and the timing couldn’t be better! I just finished a covered deck and have several pressure treated drops. Now I have a use for them! Thanks for sharing ideal picnic table. I really like the open end build. Thanks again!
I’ve watched many of your videos now and as well as watching your content go from strength to strength. You never fail to make the work your doing fun and inspirational. There’s never a time your not smiling and laughing as you go. Keep up the fantastic work
I love this it is brilliant 👍👍 I almost always trip or stumble trying to get in a regular picnic table. Thank you for sharing 👏 Stay safe healthy and happy 😃✝️🇺🇸
You are truly inspiring April! I am a designer, programmer, and machinist at a local job shop. I've been watching a lot of videos including your own and I must say, you were a huge part of me investing into all the equipment needed as well as my first CNC router. I simply love it! Love ya and keep doing it!!
Nice build. I recently built a few table very similar to this design. Instead of using two tables back-to-back for 4 person seating, I built one table with end access from each end (just as two two tables back-to-back.) This design seemed to help make sagging ever less of a concern. The tables are being utilized on a beachfront restaurant patio and seem to be holding up to the harsh elements quite well.
Really likeing this design for a table. Can't wait to see more videos soon April. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep making. God bless.
Wow u nailed it ,April. I was trying to come up with a bench thats not so large as the old model picnic bench ,this idea of urs can go flat against a wall ,i love this idea... 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
This is a very creative design for small places, small groups, and for the elderly. I already bought your plans. I want to make some for senior citizens. Awesome way to think outside the box April! 😃👍👏
I just finished this table. I appreciate this right-sized design. I did struggle with pieces added in the video that are not part of the cut list or in the final shots. I had to "wing it", but the table will serve very nicely on my narrow back deck.
I love the universal technical jargon you use, like, "I glued it but then screwed the crap out of it." You make these projects so approachable for much less experienced woodworkers like me 👍🏾😁
Awesome build! Thanks so much for sharing! It's very comforting to know there is no crap in this table because it has had the "...crap screwed out of if!" LOL Great job!
Es lo que estaba buscando, solo tenia la foto que está en Pinterest, y este video me da mucha información, excelente trabajo. Gracias. Saludos desde Pucallpa-Perú.
Your creativity and artistic insight never cease to amaze me with your wood products and projects. The way you are utilizing the space under the deck is terrific. Kudos for your educational style of presentation as you describe your setup process and showing your application for the actual build. Wishing you and your family a blessed spring season. Peace April
Hi, i like it! First thought was, i need a 4 person bench! So, your structural support would be central Work left and right from there and leave the outsides open Thanks for sharing🤗 So basically two of your benches would make up a four person bench!
Awesome as always! if you're in Texas, you might want a second table top running perpendicular on the side. On-deck table top for beer and the BB-Q that didn't fit on your plate. 🍴
Building this as a four seater I think is the counter lever you’re looking for. You could also brace the seats on the floor which wouldn’t interfere with the sliding in or out.
Here's to hoping you'll do a video on SolidWorks. I'm moving from SketchUp and F360 just doesn't "work" for me. But a few SolidWorks tutorial seemed "natural" to me. I didn't know they now have a maker's price until you mentioned it a few videos ago. Thank you!
great build april i also left my table top corners square after many times myself and others somehow would hit it leaves a mark lol i rounded mine just a tad but doesnt leave as bad a mark agin nice making a lumber list now thanks love your channel
Your two video's on sketchup were excellent, I now have a great foundation. I hope this is not the last two sketchup videos you will make. Regards Bill
I like your channel, you have some great designs and workmanship. I'm a little leary of using screws to support things like shown here though. I think even a cheap palm router would allow one to create some rabbits/ledges for the seats to bear on, and not rely on screws. Not everyone has a palm router though, however once you get one, even a cheap one, they are very awesome.
Yes, people can make things work using other tools but it may take a little longer. I always say be creative and use what you have. Thanks for watching.
I was trying to figure out a design in my head for seating for my kids' new playground deck. I was trying to envision some kind of table where one edge would butt up to the edge of the deck railing. I hadn't quite figured it out yet and then I find out--- someone just figured that out for me! Good job and thanks for the tip!
That's very cool, great build. I have one suggestion, maybe cut a 2" +/_ chamfer in the inside corner of the inside board where you enter to sit, or to make it more symetrical , cut all of the sitting boards.
I don't remember where, but I've seen Pictures of normal Picnictables where at one Side the Tabletop overhangs the A-Frame by ~70cm to allow Wheelchairusers to sit with Friends.
Okay, Not fair...normally I just skip every ad I can, but all of a sudden I get an Ad for "Next" featuring you and I have to watch it! Congrats on the commercial!
