I forgot to max out the effectivity of Ifrit's signature HELLFIRE attack before this video. Elemental protection in this hack greatly increases the chances of blocking an attack from an element, but if the attack has an extremely high effectivity, it increases the chances of the attack still getting through unblocked. Since I forgot to max out the effectivity of HELLFIRE, we can see the Barbarian and Wizard each use ice elemental armor to block the HELLFIRE attack, which is fire elemental. Oh, well... Hopefully won't happen next time, I got off a bit easy here, lol. The effectivity of the attack has been maxed out now, which means it's still possible to block with elemental protection, but it will be much harder to pull off than it was in this video. In other words, the chances will be lower.
Also, elemental protection will reduce damage from attacks of the appropriate element that do happen to get through unblocked by 50%. In this video, we can see all 3 possible outcomes occur in the battle against Ifrit when he uses HELLFIRE... The Barbarian and Wizard have elemental protection and manage to block the attack for 0 damage (it was easier to pull off than it should have been for the aforementioned reason, though), the Priest has elemental protection but is unable to block resulting in 50% damage, and the Monk who has no elemental protection gets slammed for over 200 damage! 🔥
It's required a lot of adjusting of several different variables as I play, but the new resistance system overall seems to be coming along nicely. One thing I am still working on adjusting is
the very RARE occurrence of an enemy blocking an attack that they are weak against. If you weren't paying close attention, you may have missed it, but we can actually see that happen once in this video when ICE is cast on an Inferno. This most likely only occurs with enemies who have a fairly high RES stat and it's possibly something I can live with if it's super rare, but I am still going to continue tweaking a few different things in an effort to get it to never happen, not even in super rare occurrences.
Lastly, ORBS that have been relit will now shine a different color depending on where the LIGHT WARRIORS are. Green for World A, blue for Underwater, and red for World B also known as the Dark World.
