  • We went by the H&R booth this year at SEMA to talk to Mike Burroughs from Stanceworks.com. Mike managed to finish his truck just in time for the show, and got together with us at SEMA to give us a complete rundown of his creation. We were in awe when we saw the completed hot rod, especially the headers that were so beautifully created to match the overall look of the truck. The headers were made from Vibrant Performance Mandrel bends and collector pieces and perfectly mirror each other, complementing the acoustics produced by the Supercharged Coyote swap. Mike took a running, driving 1931 Ford Model A pickup, and separated the cab to build a complete custom frame, with suspension, cage, and all necessary components surrounding the cab and frame. He then plumbed the truck with Vibrant Performance E85-friendly Race Hose and -AN Fittings for his Fuel, Coolant, and Coolers.
    Keep an eye out for Mike's truck in the Southern California Area, and be sure to check out his vlog series of how the truck was built.

    God, the hate on the comment section.... Can´t you just appreciate the work? Could he have used a non-functional model A? Yeah. But he didn´t throw the parts he didn´t need, so they went to save other Model As and hel them get back to the road. You say he is destroying automotive history.... calm down, it´s "just" a Model A pickup, and part of your automotive history goes alongside modifying, so.....

  • @jamessheets9205
    @jamessheets9205 5 лет назад +1

    My guess is that the use of an original truck is for the title? I'm assuming he is in Commifornia and that would explain a lot. It's really ashame because the popularity of original or lightly modified vehicles is becoming greater. Once it's cut up and modified it's gone forever. Other than a vin # he isn't gaining anything by using an original vehicle. When I first saw it I automatically thought it was a factory 5 body or some other fiberglass kit. And I'm sure 75% of people out there thought the same thing. The engineering that when into this is great! I don't understand the theme of the build though. Is it a rat rod, hot rod, track car, or what? To me it looks like he couldn't decide what to build and threw together all the stuff he saw in hotrod magazine. Is this build some new trend I'm not aware of?

    I have to agree with everybody else other than to say "Neat- YES!", but "truck-NO!" this isn't a truck, and you couldn't drive that thing on my streets here in upstate New York!! FIRST every cop in the county would have tickets given to you for the exhaust and the lack of headlights and front turn signals!! And hell the front tires don't even sit flat on the ground either, BUT that point aside for a moment in my area there are a lot of big truck traffic, which leads to a lot of ripped up roads covered in potholes!! So your welds better be "spot on" or it will literally tear the vehicle apart!!! NOT TO MENTION that you will be scrapping every where you go....and many of the back roads in my area are nothing short of goat trails, so ground clearance is a must, has just a few minutes from "town" (which I live in a small New York Town upstate from New York City) there ARE country roads that would kill this "truck" which it is no longer a truck anymore!! Sorry BUT for me a truck has a bed, and you can at least haul a few things in it even if it is just groceries from the store!!!!
