Really impressed w the questions you guys ask btw
I been saying that all season last yr that Spencer Anderson would be a staple in the middle at center. I think he'd be great at it
I agree with you about D. Moore Jr. I believe that they would like to place him at guard. They appreciate his approach and professionalism!
He is a part of their future, imho.
Thanks Matt. All sorts of needs on the offense, but still can see them picking up some needs on the defense. If the right player falls in place can you see Mike Tomlin drafting a defensive lineman player or corner slot ? Great show Matt
In the last 20 NFL drafts, 92% of CENTERS taken in the first round have received a second contract. That's the highest hit rate of any position. And its not even close. OT is next at only 59%. To be a "hit" a player had to sign a second contract with the team that drafted him. Moving to a new team or not receiving a second deal disqualifies the player from being a "hit." Numbers don't lie. Its gotta be a C or OT.
There are absolutely restructures on the way. There's roughly 18.3 M required in signing the rookie class, practice squad, work out bonuses, and " in season" cushion for roster moves.
That has the Steelers a little more than 6M OVER the cap at the moment.
It's fairly obvious, Khan is waiting til after the draft to assess the 5th yr options and potentials after Jun 1st.
Got to re do cam heyward’s deal
@EastsideLegend1 That seems likely. Although, even they may not have a clearer picture until after the draft as to which one or more makes the most sense.
The ironic thing about the kickoffs is the game will get bigger and slower and it probably won't make any difference in head injuries because of Newton's Second Law and all that, especially if they're anticipating 40% fewer touchbacks as a result, which has been reported
I agree with your assessment on Bowers and how he would be used. Pickens, Bowers essentially functioning as the #2 and Friermuth would be a potent combination in Smiths offense.
I dont like the sacrifice in terms of 1st to 3rd tackle talent. But? Life gives you lemons? Make Lemonade.
Heard it said that Daniels likely not interested in a position switch during a contract year. Well, extend him and have Herbig/Spencer Anderson battle for RG.
Really hope leaving such an obvious hole at C was all part of the plan...
If the Steelers have a center in-house and they go RT,WR, WR I'll do cartwheels
The punter rules didn’t change. They still need some players that can get down the field.
People that think Bowers will be there at 20 are delusional. We don't need a TE , don't know why his name keep getting mentioned
It's amazing how many times you read comments that seem to be pulled out of a hat. There is no chance the Steelers are drafting a tight end. When people make comments like that I wish they could just be automatically banned from commenting ever again
@anthonyherrmann860 agreed. Just shows how many casual fans are out there
If the Steeler seriously want to consider James Daniels at center and truely want to take the best player available. If all the tackles I want are gone I would seriously consider Jer’Zhan Newton.
Boykin is the biggest body type I would use on the new stupid kickoff thing, It seems like stock blocking/covering guys up & the ability to play and tackle in space will be what's most important (small RBs/Safeties, CB's, & WRs fitting the bill).
I was a bigger RB/core special teams guy and my job was to set the edge/contain the kick on KO & kick out the contain guy on KOR. I doubt someone of my body type equivalent (Connor Heyward is a great example) will be asked to cover when there's that much space by default alignment. I hate it for the big skill types trying to make rosters.
Boykins signed elsewhere
What good is drafting TE Brock Bowers if our QB (Wilson) is too short to see the middle of the field? Drives ending with sacks & completions behind scrimmage will have us pulling our hair out!
That’s weird, it’s almost like you’ve already seen how this season will play out without even seeing a single down being played. 🫵🏼😂
@@jaredburk2728 Nostradamus watched Russ as QB these last few years in Seattle & Denver 👁️
I wasn’t aware Seattle and Denver immediately started winning after Russ left? Weird way to lose an argument but whatever 🤷🏻♂️
@@jaredburk2728 Seattle certainly like their Bridge QB & Denver only won due to their Defense 😭💀
@@Dr.BruceMaccabee the same defense that gave up 70 against the dolphins?? Oh yeah no they were the only reason they won though. 😂😂
Denver doesn't have a 2nd rd pick.
Trade picks 20, 51, and a next year 5th for picks 12 and 76.
DRAFT QUINYON MITCHELL
An in house center. Like one that the coaches didnt trust enough to replace Mason Cole last year even though he played like trash juice?
No way Herbig is the starting C . Get real .
