Until about a week ago I had no idea that stinging nettle was edible, and here I am now fully onboard with the culinary experience of eating this green stingy plant.
Here's the soup recipe if you want to try it yourself: foragerchef.co...

Haha as long as the stinging nettles and dandelions are still around I’ll be thriving 😆💪🏻

For people unfamiliar with this plant - touch of stem ot leafs feels like chemical burn, then it's very itchy but every attempt to scratch swelling (which looks like mosquito bite) is painful
Can confirm haha 😅😆
Wait Connor where do you live? (Plz Reply)
wdym people unfamilliar with this plant? there are places in the world where those things aren't an everyday annoyance?? do these plants *just* hate germany?
also, how do you know what a chemical burn feels like?
@@LangSphere i was "biten" by jellyfish, so i know how it feels
you can also grab one leaf off the plant (make sure the plant is shorter than a foot and has no flowers) roll it into a tight ball and you can just eat it like that. the juice from the plant is actually an anti histamine
Good to know! Awesome!
You can also make shampoo and a pie (not the sugary ones) we eat it in my country you can just type (this is in a foreign language) "pite me hithra"
@@Enis-ui3hl amazing!! I gotta try making those next!
@@itsConnorCreates also. your dorodango video inspired me to make a dorodango myself. its currently chilling in the plastic bag
@@itsConnorCreates and in my country, it's also popular to make tea out of it
Connor is the type of person I want to be when I grow up just doing random things
I believe you can be!! 🙌🏻
I swear when I found out Connor existed life became so much less boring.
I so love hearing that!!😄
Same and also we get learn how make free food.

I secretly watch at least 2 videos a day and he made my life more fun . Now i dont need to incessantly look for a good video cause i can just go to his channel😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
To describe the pain of stinging nettle for those fortunate enough not to have fallen into it before, it feels almost like a bee sting or an ant bite. Though unlike bee stings and ant bites using baking soda/water, human saliva, or dish soap and water can help soothe the pain.
Can confirm haha it’s not a fun feeling 😅
Wait there is smth to soothe the pain no one told or 7 year old me that!
0:21 the origins was because two farmers made a bet, and the one that lost had to eat and entire stalk of stinging nettle, i dont know how it became an entire competitions but it did
Haha amazing! Love that you know that, thanks for sharing!🙌🏻😅
Connor should start a restaurant selling stinging nettle soup and dandelion coffee
Haha that’d be epic! Also don’t know if it would be profitable 😆
Connors cafe lol😂
🤣
connor should also use the salt from the sea he made
The decoritaion should be mud balls
This guy has boosted my creativity by watching all his videos thank you 😊

How do you always manage to stay happy and make others happy all the time, it is inspiring watching you have fun with your hobbies each video.
I love hearing that! Thanks for the support!😄
Lol that plant is really common in The Netherlands, it just grows everywhere, and as a kid you would fall in a bush of these at least once a year, btw the place where you live is beautiful
Haha a painful childhood tradition! 😅😆 and thanks! Very grateful for it!
You should genuinely have a cook book for all these plant recipes you do!
Haha that’d be awesome! Good idea!
I mean stinging nettles as food isn't anything new.
My Austrian grandmother prepares them from time to time. Mix them half and half with spinach to make it less pungent.
1:38 in Egypt there is a similar plant but it doesn’t sting and it’s edible called Molokhia or Jute mallow however its been there since Ancient Egypt times and it tastes amazing 🤩. Molokhia is way different than the plant you’re eating ! And it’s true what you mentioned about the plant you ate .
So interesting! Thanks for the info!
This reminds me of when I watched Brave Wildernesses video on stinging himself with the nettle. You are amazing to willingly do that as well. I always watch your videos when I'm bored or dad and they always manage to bring me pure entertainment. My sister and I love to stay up late watching your videos.
Awesome! Thanks to you and your family for watching and supporting 😄 I appreciate it!
How I felt as a kid after putting random plants into water
😅😆
I honestly love your videos so much! Makes me want to try and recreate some of the stuff in your videos
Thanks so much! I love hearing that!
I remember as a child I learned that you can actually eat stinging nettle when some other kids were doing it. I have eatin it just directly the way it comes in nature, and it wont always sting but there is some risk. But if you just wrap another edible leaf around it and chew it, that pretty much guarantees you wont get stung
Awesome! Wisdom for life! Thanks for sharing🙌🏻
Just eat them raw - so all the vitamins and different stuff doesn't go away with the process of cooking. The needles of the nessle are pointing away from the plant, so place your two fingers on the leave in the middle and go out on the leave so the needles "break" and eat it. I am a German guy so I don't know how to explain it the best😅 But love the vid! ❤
Amazing! Thanks for your German wisdom! I appreciate it😄
I think connor is the kindest person in his town ❤
😄🤗 I appreciate your support!
Dude you gotta dry it and make tea! Most refreshing and thirst quenching summer time iced tea in existence!!!
Good idea!!😄
I fell down a hill full of stingy nettles as a teenager. I don't believe I ever ran home that fast.
Dang! That does not sound fun 😆😬
i envy you so much how you live in such a stunning place just experimenting with all things outdoors, really is the dream
Very grateful for it! 🙌🏻 thanks for the support!
I love all of your videos and how creative all of your ideas are! This video is so great!
Thanks so much!! I really appreciate your kind words and support😊
Keep it up ❤ new subscriber here 🎉
Thanks! Welcome aboard😄
if you didnt know this yet: wear a glove and brush over the stinging nettles from bottom to top, that will break the needles, then wash it with cold water and continue with preperation. you can eat all of the plant tho the stems usually arent that good (pretty woody) you can eat them raw as a salad if you want, or you can cook them like spinach. you can also make soup etc with them. they are really good and i´ve been eating stinging nettles for most of my life atp 😂
I did not know that trick! Thanks for sharing!
I love how he smiles all the time😊😊😊 keep up the good work 👍🏻
Thanks for watching and supporting!!😄🤗
I remember seeing this plant at my camp, I didnt know what it was but the stem looked fuzzy, i rubbed my finger and my finger hurted for the rest of the camp. The next day one of the people at the camp said, " dont touch it its stinging nettle."
Haha a classic learn from experience situation 😆😅
its like the less lethal version of the suicide plant
I haven’t heard of that one but also does sound painful 😅😬
The smallest plants are the most good, you should only take those. Here in italy we make risotto with it and it's one of my favourite dish
Good to know thanks! Oohh sounds great!
once, when I was young. I tripped into a bunch of nettles. I am now absolutely terrified of them
A valid fear haha! Now you can eat them though and conquer it!
@@itsConnorCreates I’m not going to eat them
It’s nice how you can spot it very well. I didn’t even notice it!😂😂😂
There’s a lot out where I live 😅🙌🏻
@@itsConnorCreatesI have billions of these nettles invading my garden, guess I will try to eat em’ 😅😅
Am I the only one triggered by Connor cutting the pizza with scissors???!
Haha that’s honestly how we did it growing up!😆😅
This was basically a rite of passage where I'm from, when kids go to the countryside for the summer off school. The first reason you start learning to tell plant species apart, after which can come the berry bushes (and the poisonous berry bushes). You can actually pluck and eat the white flowers they sometimes have; I'm not sure if you've covered that in this video, but it's a good dare.
So interesting! Cool! Thanks for the info 🙌🏻
I recommend nettle risotto, popular in some parts of Romania.
Awesome I would love to try that sometime!
This guy is more creative than all the creatives, this guy is a REAL legend❤❤
I APPRECIATE YOU!😄🤗
Love your vids man keep it up
Thanks! I appreciate your encouragement!!😄🤗
Here in Australia I think our stinging nettle is different because the pain last about ten to fifteen minutes
Woah interesting!!
2:49 the cut off made me laugh so much 😭
Glad you appreciated that 😅😆
My family often uses nettles in place of spinach. We pick lots in the spring, blanch them and freeze them to use throughout the year.
Awesome! So cool to hear from someone who uses them as a free food source 🙌🏻😄
You can also just dry them and use them like that.
I keep drooling over stuff that I’ve never even tasted before….
I think it’s starting to be a problem 😅
Never a problem 😅🙌🏻
bro i watched your paper video then this one but i just wanna say i like your content i subbed and im about to binge your vids:)
Thanks so much! I appreciate your support😄 welcome aboard!
@0:42 bro lives in the most picturesque place ever
Thankful for it!😄
In my country there was this rumor that if you would sting yourself with this plant you would become pretty. My friend took it too far and her legs were all red and bumpy...
Haha interesting! Wonder how that rumour started!? 😅🤷🏻♂️
Try nettle stuffed shells it’s delicious with venison or beef. :) lots of Parmesan of top too yuuuum my favorite
Oohh sounds pretty delicious!! I defs wanna try that!
This is on of the best youtubers ever hes too underrated hes not even playing games hes enjoying nature he also cares about his subscribers :)

Stinging needle eating contest is like eating peppers but this can kill you
Haha ya legit! Such an odd concept 😆
first one looks especially yummy
Can confirm it was!
I BET YOU COULD MAKE A RESTAURANT WITH THIS STUFF (I forgot name already lol)
THAT’D BE EPIC!
This is so wierd to me. Its like reminded me of the "fist time eating vegetables" video. Stringing nettles are really just a free alternative to spinach.
Haha yes so true!
Best you tuber of the year award go's to *drumroll* CONNER CREATES 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Honoured to accept that title 🏆🤗
You will never know true hell until you bike home from the beach in a bikini and trip into a field of these things
Aaaayy does not sound like a fun time 😬😆
I'm addicted to this man's videos
Happy it’s a healthy kind of addiction 😆🙌🏻 thanks for the support!
I’ve not had stinging nettle, which I’ve yet to try near me. But, I have tried purple dead nettle. It is super delicious, it’s like a sweet lettuce almost, with a slight floral taste to it. Best to eat it when it’s spring and purple leaves, or it’s very bitter.
Woah interesting!! Sounds good!
I bet Connors next videos title will be this: I tested 3 Ways to eat a Rain Forest
An intriguing challenge haha
people nowadays just not used to it, our ancestors would laugh at us lol
Haha so true
That plant was my biggest childhood fear
Now you can conquer your fear by eating them! 😆
when i see you made a new video im always so happy
I love hearing that!! Thanks!
Your videos are fun and full of useful information, you are one of the best RUclipsrs i have known, continue ;)
Thanks so much!! I appreciate your support😄
I sometimes drink stinging nettle juice. It quite sweet. You can get it in England.
Interesting! I’ll have to try it when I travel there one day!
@@itsConnorCreates ok!
Bro!!!! Keep up the good work ❤❤❤❤
Thanks!! I appreciate you and the encouragement 😄🤗
You are the best bro keep going
Thanks so much!😄
you should try making some more recycled paper using diffrent materials, because i really liked your recycled paper video.
Ya I have some ideas to make more for sure! Thanks for the support and encouragement 😄
I knew someone who liked the feeling of stinging nettles, and they would constantly go back to touch them according to what they said to me 😬 as someone who's never seen a stinging nettle in person i cannot imagine nor would relate
Woah interesting haha! 😆😬
harvesting anything near a road gives me the ick, please don't do that lmao
Too late
So close to 250K🎉 my mom used to punish me by stinging me, Lol!
Thanks for the support! Dang!😬
You're contents are quite interesting, keep em coming
Thank you! Really appreciate your support and encouragement 😊
Not unlimited food glitch but also free food source.I want to know how it tastes
You should try it!
In my country its called kopriva and its basically on every corner where theres grass 😂
Awesome! 😅
I have the same ice cubes 😂 but i love your dedication ❤
Awesome! They’re good ones!
Try the leaves in curry. That works well!
Good suggestion! Thanks!
this plant is very similar to ant and bee sting and they have a similar acid that get released when bitten or stung called as formic acid which we've studies in lower classes.......
Woah interesting! I can confirm it definitely hurt like a bee sting haha!😅
Connor's last words "Ohh! stingy!"
😅😬
My nonna used to make lasagna with that plant...she used to mix it with flour to make the pasta sheets
Woah awesome! Sounds great!
Way to go Connor! Your the only real life RUclipsr out there
A great compliment! Thank you! I appreciate your support 😄🙌🏻
@@itsConnorCreates of course man!
I’m looking forward to your next video
In Croatia we call it Kopriva
Awesome! Cool to know!
I was so worried for your legs and knees when you were cutting them lmao. The amount of times I’d gotten stung ankles on walks. A right of passage for Brits when children!
Ya I almost got stung a bunch from being in the patch haha! Love that it’s like a tradition there for you 😆😅
"look at all this free food just waiting to be eaten"-Conner Creates
Wise words that apply to only a few specific scenarios haha 😆

Hopefully not too much of a painful part of it 😅😬

Nice video.
You should give milkweed a chance next.
Thanks! Oohh that could be a fun challenge!
If you’re looking along the road. Make sure it’s a road like in the video and not one with trash and debris etc.
Yes for sure, good point!
No one commented yet on your 'bite' of raw stinging nettle. Ouch!
How long do that sting???
Your kindness, creativity and videos are absolutely wonderful!!!
Haha it was a lil surprise at the end for people who watch until the very end like you!😄🤗 and it didn’t hurt really but it was just kinda tingly and felt weird
I hope everyone does watch to the end. One never knows what little gem may appear like in this case. When at a movie theater, I even sit through the credits at the end and I'm usually alone till the usher comes to clean...
Thanks, Conner.
