I love how Sam gets so excited. And these DM hotlines are so useful. I don't know how, but you always ask the right questions to still provide help, but also not making it feel like you would know it better.

Love this! Always love a mystery game. I'm new to DMing, but I tend to work backward with mysteries. So sort out the crime/how it happened. Then start devising clues from there and spread them out throughout the place so different combinations can still lead to an eventual solution. Depends on the situation, but you might be able to have the kidnapper/player try leading them off the case (Provide false leads, red herrings, etc).

This is way too complicated and savvy for a WHITE DRAGON to be acting. Those things are all brute force and frozen dinners. Who plays white dragon intrigue politics with vampire blood farms? That’s some BLUE DRAGON shit my guy.

Wouldn’t any mid tier vampire have at least one “Renfeild” type of cohort to do this manner of bidding? Did 5e nerf vampires? Do vampire not get Dominate Person as a spell like ability that can target more than just humanoids anymore?
Also how does one go about playing a vampire as a part of the party without the whole campaign turning into the Dracula: Dead and Loving It?

The common element could also have been blood type or genetic condition that affects blood. "All these victims have Type B blood" and then they could find out the vampire player like that type too.

Hello, I don't know if you read these, but I need advice as I haven't experienced enough of the stat side of DnD. I'm DMing a campaign with my friends and I was looking into dual wielding as a rogue, because the cunning action and two weapon fighting seemed to conflict. I noticed that cunning action is worded strangely so that it sounds like it could be an additional action, a "cunning action", if I will. I pretty sure this isn't what was intended but I feel like it would smooth out gameplay for rogues. When I looked it up online there were a lot of people talking about how broken that would be. Do you think it would be broken to have a separate cunning action meant for dashing, disengaging, or sneaking? Rogues don't get multi attacks on there own and they can't sneak attack more than once per turn, so I just don't see too much of a problem with it. The wording in question is cunning action and also specifically "granted by cunning action" this is fast hands in the thief archetype.

Nevermind, I just watched your one DnD video on rogues and noticed two things for the intended ideology of rogues. 1: A rogue would rather make one precise strike rather than overwhelm their foes with multiple. 2: Cunning action is completely reworded.
