    Sir i am in 11th class and studhying drawbacks of rutherford where one drawback is he could not explain hydrogen spectrum.. So what is exatly it is is i get it but why we have only choose hydrogen spectra why we have not chosen other element spectra??????

      Rutherford ne fine structure of hydrogen ko nhi explain kiya tha , fine structure hydrogen k spectrum ma hota h jab hum usse achche spectrometer se dekhte h
      Hydrogen atom isliye liya jata h kyunki isme ek hi electron hota aur iska spectrum explain karna aasaan hota h.
      Baaki atoms ma electrons jyada hote h toh unka spectrum complicated hota h

      Shells toh infinite hote hai but electron ek hota hai so electron excite hokar next shell mein jaata hai so voh unstable ho jaata hai toh 10^8 seconds mein deexcite ho jaata hai
