Thank you for showing your early sketchbooks! Painting such flowers with one of your older videos was actually one of the first times I followed along with any painting RUclips video. Now I did them in my sketchbook and dug out the old ones for comparison too. So interesting to see how different these are. Thank you Shana for the inspiration! And the beautiful flowers 🌺!

There are some good sales on at the moment here in the U.K. on quite a few of the top quality paper brands….like Saunders Waterford and Arches, etc. ( actually have not yet used Arches ), and especially if you get the larger sized sheets and then cut them down…it really does work out very reasonable.

Regarding messing up your Journal “years ago, when I was teaching my children, we would all get our journals and our art supplies whether we were going to be doing charcoal, pencil or charcoal, colored or watercolor. For the day, we had our own bag of goodies and we would go on, a art excursion/picnic. It was my middle child who said to me but I don’t want a mistake and I didn’t remember to bring any eraser. And I said you will never need an eraser because as an artist, there are no mistakes… Everything you do is a learning process And you cannot tear out any pages either. Sometimes we get frustrated and sometimes things don’t turn out the way we got wood, but we can always go back and look at that page and see what we would do to change our drawing. I said, artist tend to be the worst critic, and I want this to be a fun project, but also a learning project to this day their art journals are one of my precious items in my home❣️❣️❣️
