LMFAO they don't make them like Keith Moon anymore!! I remember watching The Who on TV back in the early 1970s and it was at the end of the show and Keith was destroying his drum set (literally destroying it) and I was cheering ... my parents looked at me as if I was the spawn of the devil himself!!! LOL good times back in those days 👍
There’s only one Glenn Hughes one of the last men standing from the heights of the 70,s right up today, the super voiced rocker still hitting the road still making records we salute you mr hughes
It’s impressive that he’s still makes records. I love all of these brilliant artist from back then. My all time favorite is Roger Waters who still goes on tour, although he doesn’t make records but he’s also a bit older.
Great stories. Always loved Glenn. Such an awesome voice. It's so crazy how his career has spanned almost every generation of rock. He's like a vampire. Lol
I'm a late comer to Hughes so embracing him fully this past decade has been a rare treat. Glenn is my hero to say the least. Been sober for a decade so GH is my man.
When I was Teenager .. Both Seventh Star and Phenomena were out at the same time..."Such awesome albums" I had no Idea of everything Hughes had done before. That came later on as time passed as I was really into what was new at the time and now love everything this man has done in his career.
I could have written this! I gave Seventh Star one listen, then shelved it..”this is not Sabbath” I thought. Gave it a spin a year later…now I have a GH signed 7th Star poster on my wall. Hughes RULZ!! An incredible human..check my GH stuff on my channel🤘
I can't believe what I'm reading !!! Seventh star was an incredible album. A really unique piece of 80s metal. In almost the sane way Savatage was unique ( the song 'sad wings'in particular) Way under rated. Eternal idol was great as well.
wow, linda blair dating tommy bolin...(then hughes) bowie living in glenn hughes house "for a time". i'm gonna need a sec to wrap my head around this... i does put into perspective just how many drugs these people were doing.
Phillip Wurn - Joe Walsh said Keith took a liking to him.....which was the worst thing for him. "first time i met Keith we stayed up for couple of weeks one night."
@@christopherweise438 I seem to recall Joe said the scariest thing that ever happened to him as Keith deciding he liked him and wanted to party with him.
Glens performance at Cal Jam 1 is how I always remember him in Deep Purple. As Bowie said it was incredible. Sucks how Coke has played such a big role in the lives of the entertainers I love. It was especially sad to hear about Linda Blair although not entirely surprising as I heard she took a lot of shit for her Exorcist role. She was about to revisit that role in the sequel. I have a special place in my heart for The Heretic. It was choppy, hoaky, but some genuinely trippy and original elements Then you had a drunken Richard Burton and I gotta assume Linda was coked out (but I can’t really tell in the movie. Perhaps she would abstain when she was doing the actual filming) It’s a great movie if you don’t compare it to the first one
From what i remember reading Iommis bio years ago (i have it), he stated something like they (Black sabbath) had as much cocaine as Scarface and smugled it in inside speaker cabinets so they were very much off the chart as well in the 70´s at least. Glenn was with them in the 80´s of course so maybe that had changed for the rest of the Sabbath members, i think Glenn was fired from Sabbath due to his extensive drug use.
Glen Hughes ah yes I remember him The "Hanger on" in Deep Purple . Another in the long list of gentlemen who owe their "career" to the chap they like to slag off ...Mr Blackmore.
Actually, I’ve not heard Glenn ever slag Ritchie off. In this interview, when mentioning Ritchie, he tells us about Ritchie’s point of view on something, he also tells us that he was angry with Ritchie, but he never once slags Ritchie off.
Imagine going through a bad trip on acid or mushrooms - or, even worse, coke-induced paranoia - and Regan from The Exorcist tries to comfort you, saying "there's no demons" as her face melts into a puddle of pea soup and all you can see is her head spinning round? As we say in this corner of the world, "f**k that for a game of soldiers".
If you ever get a chance to see The Making of the Excorcist" you will understand how she got screwed up in real life. She was even injured in the coming through the wall seen over her bed. What a film though.
I'd heard the Linda Blair story before and not sure why but it really surprised me? I guess I figured after she'd been exorcized she'd grown up to be a good girl LoL who knew? I guess I never thought of her as someone that would drive around through traffic with an ounce of cocaine in her lap.🤔
It's amazing that in full knowledge of the health dangers, potentially fatal consequences, risk of a prison sentence and that they were contributing to global organised crime causing misery for millions, these people behaved in this way. Why, oh why would anyone take this stuff? Hughes has talked about how drug dealers surrounded him, pushing their wares, so why not simply say "No thanks, not my thing" and walk away. Then talk to management/security and ask that they be kept away from him?
Obviously you never did coke, it's all good if you do a bump and that's it, after the first one you just chase the feeling of that first one, but you dont
Linda was together with Rick James Not impressed Today everybody live like that. YOU ARE GREAT MUSICIAN R E S P E C T But it's not necessary to sphere this stories cause it's pretty crappy
Are these stories just as illuminating about the era and his life without namedropping and revealing others' personal lives? Especially the dead? Yes. Does Glenn say even half as much about their skills as he does their excesses? Guess. You have to ask yourself why he loves telling stories about other people. If you're honest, you know the answer.

When Keith Moon shows up wearing Nazi regalia with Ron Wood, you know you're about to leave Earth's orbit.
Lol for sure 😂!!!!!!!

The 70s were absolutely nuts.
Unimaginable how Glenn can sing so well today, even better than in the 70's IMO after consuming every drug known by man
He drew the winning lottery ticket when it comes to genetics.
I agree he's amazing even still well into his 70's now, the man is absolutely a legend!
Some amazing yet sad stories.

I read Hughes' bio. Well worth the read. BTW IMO Hughes is one of the GOAT rock singers. Right up there with Plant & Cornell ...
Absofuckinglutly
For Xmas dinner, all Glenn had was a tin of Dinty Moore beef stew he carried around
lmao
Lol ,ever time I eat that I always think of the mad max scene where he's eating the dog food
Moon the Loon
Glen Hugh's man this guys voice was great love that song where he sings on it, SAIL.AWAY
Those were AWESOME stories.
Dam! Wild. Thank you
Read Glenn's autobiography.
The bacon story is priceless.
Funny that in the thumbnail, Linda Blair is the one who doesn't look possessed.
Bowie on his death bed said the one thing more than anything else in his life he wish he would not have done is doing drugs.
This is AWESOME!!!!
I saw them at Cal Jam back in 1974, they were by far the best band there.(Black Sabbath was a close second).
I would have to go with ELP.

David Bowie once uttered : "Los Angeles should be wiped off the face of the earth !"
(Bowie was so strung out on cocaine during 1975)
well he was right about that.
"Going off the rails". The irony, lol

Tony Iommi's bio tells of Glen's coke use during his association with Black Sabbath. Tony said he was off the chart.."fiend" doesn't come close.

Moonie probably stayed in costom for the next 3 day. Moon the loon was a beast
Costom?
Have you ever said or done something you were embarrassed about?
Keith Moon: Hold my beer.
Would of loved to hear some of Mal s stories
The mysterious mal Evans tapes story is McCartney got his briefcase when he passed😮
Awesome
Crazy! What a life!
Keith Moon's picture looks more Exorcist than Linda's picture.
Typical Tuesday for Keith back then..
Linda Blair dated Tommy Bolin? I'm a bit of a Bolin history freak and I never heard that before.
Was Blair a teenager during this?
Ahhhh,,,😁 The good old Days,,, how i miss them😎🥳😎
70s in a nutshell- EVERYONE was on cocaine even people you wouldnt imagine were doing it haha
Glenn is the VOICE of ROCK!!🎤
Mal Evans, the Beatles roadie and security guard, committed suicide by charging a cop with a gun in 1976. The cop wasted him.
Glenn is a bad ass, best voice in rock today!
Whoever they are..... what like the freemason handlers or wtf?
trapeze were a great band
Love Glenn's singing, but if you take drugs out of the equation, he has nothing to talk about.

Oh yeah drugs, remember when it was cool to be far out.
Glenn was quite attractive when he was younger.
Sid and Nancy, Glenn and Linda.
