  • How to Make Stained Glass Christmas Cookies
    Full Recipe: preppykitchen....
Stained glass cookies are SO EASY to make and beautiful to look at. I love seeing light peek through the centers and yes, you can decorate your tree with them, or you might prefer snacking on them straight out of the oven! There are no wrong answers here.
To make them all you have to do is cut your sugar cookies with a negative space inside, then crush your favorite hard candy and sprinkle it in the middle. Try not to get any hard candy on the sugar cookie as it will look messy. Also you really need a silicone baking mat for this, not sure baking paper would work for the release but you can let me know in the comments if you've tried it!

I won $50 which I donated to a less fortunate family :) thank you Preppy Kitchen!

If you lay down parchment paper, place the dough on top then put another sheet of parchment paper you can then use your roller to roll out the dough.
This eliminates the use of extra flour and it doesn't stick! Works great with your cookie recipe! Tried it! 😊

I am late to the party and just found this video. I made these today and they have to be the most attractive cookie I have ever made. Thanks for the recipe. I feel these are best for ornaments as it is a very crunchy cookie. Getting your teeth into the center is a bit of a challenge on the first bite. So these will probably not go into regular annual rotation but they will look amazing on a cookie tray.

Years ago I made some gingerbread houses. I used this technique for the windows - using 2-3colors per. The Jolly Ranchers seem to start to melt and drip after a few days. I switched to sour balls and never had that problem again. However, I don't think they come in blue. I used the Ice Blue Mints to make a pond, but they're too nasty to eat in these beautiful cookies.
