    Thanks for this. There’s so much valuable information here! I would have loved this when I first brought home my M7! I did find Kim Jamieson-Hirst of Chatterbox quilts who is an excellent resource and Kimberley Einmo from Janome America. Both were so helpful when I was making decisions about purchasing this great machine.

    You are wonderful to listen to and watch! You have convinced me to purchase the M7 since my dealer is having an amazing sale now. I have a Janome S5 and a Janome Embroidery machine now... but what is one more!

      Thank you SEW much Jill! I so appreciate your feedback and your sweet compliments, thank you! Congratulations on your new machine! You will LOVE that Continental M7!!! It's an excellent addition to the sewing room! Fortunately, all Janome's play very nicely together, so they won't mind having a new baby in the family! lol! Happy Sewing

    I love that the screen is in the middle. I notice when I quilt that my quilt hits the programming and causes problems on my Janome S5. So many features beautiful.

    FMQ - best tip I got was set slider to preferred speed then foot pedal to max ( floor)= consistent speed = it works!

    Michael where can I get information on cleaning, maintaining, oiling(?), lubing (?) and anything else I would do to care for my Janome M7. I ask because only 1 place locally services them with a six week wait and they want to take the machine now. With Covid everyone is behind. Any tips or references would be appreciated. I have read the manual care section.

      @janomehqjanomecanada4908  2 года назад

      HI Kathryn! You can find general cleaning and maintenance tips on Janome Life blog janomelife.wordpress.com/2020/03/24/dont-forget-the-bobbin-area/, but anything more through should always be done by a qualified service technician. The M7 is a pretty advanced machine, so it should not be opened by consumers and those who haven't received training to service the machine. That will void the warranty, as well as potentially damage the machine. Happy Sewing!

    I am hearing that the needle threader doesn’t always work, which isn’t a deal breaker but is that true?

    • @janomehqjanomecanada4908
      @janomehqjanomecanada4908  8 месяцев назад

      If the needle is not in the correct position, or if the wrong size needle is used or the thread is too thick, then no, the needle threader will not work. Details are listed in the Instruction Manual and we have many tips and tricks listed on the Janome Life blog, as well. janomelife.wordpress.com/2022/03/07/built-in-needle-threader/

    Thank you for the video. I have purchase mine and have a question. I hear a sound “click” whenever i start sewing. Is that normal? Thank you

    • @janomehqjanomecanada4908
      @janomehqjanomecanada4908  2 года назад +1

      The click you may be hearing is likely the feed dogs raising as you begin to sew. Yes, this is normal as the Continental M7 has a new feeding system which lowers the feed dogs until you're ready to sew. This makes positioning your fabric easier. One of the great new Janome inventions which debuted with that machine. Happy Sewing!

    What about all those decorative stitches? You are just showing a straight stitch for quilting. Will you be producing another video featuring other types of sewing and stitches with this machine? Thank you.

      Hi Martha! With time and the event being what it was, I had to keep the subject focused on quilting; why a quilter would like this machine. I did more broad demos of the M7 for Magical Machine Mystery Tour and taught a class, which is now available as a recording. I also taught a separate Stitch Composer class, which comes with the M7 as well. There's so much to this machine, I'll definitely need to do more videos! Stay Tuned!

    Which table are you using for M7.

    • @janomehqjanomecanada4908
      @janomehqjanomecanada4908  3 года назад

      It's the Arrow MOD cabinet, which has a hydraulic lift and drop-leaf extension at the back. A custom insert can be ordered for whatever the machine. Janome Canada is a distributor of Arrow sewing furniture, so any Janome or Elna dealer will have more info and can order for you.

    Is there a cloth guide for it

    • @janomehqjanomecanada4908
      @janomehqjanomecanada4908  3 года назад +1

      Yes! There is an optional adjustable metal cloth guide available which comes with a little screw to attach it to the needle plate of the machine.

    • @user-vm4fv6oy9u
      @user-vm4fv6oy9u Год назад

      Doesn’t the cloth guide come standard with the 8900, 9400, and 9450? Why would they not have it in a “pro” model costing so much more?

    While I am very appreciative of all the accessories that are included with the M7, for a machine that's geared towards quilters, I am surprised the blue dot bobbin wasn't included.

    • @janomehqjanomecanada4908
      @janomehqjanomecanada4908  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for the feedback, I hear what you're saying. Keep in mind that the more things included with a machine, the more the price goes up. They have to draw the line somewhere. As well, the Low Tension/Blue Dot bobbin holder would be a great "gift with purchase" ; something a dealer might choose to throw in free of charge to clinch a sale. There's always more! lol!

    Overengineered, overweight and overpriced. Buy a 6700P instead.

      Isn't it wonderful Janome has so many machines available from which to choose?! Love the 6700P! It's one of my all-time favourite machines!
