same lmao out here again watching it for like 50 ish time or maybe more (used to watch it a lot back in the day to practice combos) even though i dont play it anymore
It's been years since I have played Xillia 2, I still love it and regard it as perhaps my favorite game of all time and you made me realize how much potential it had in terms of combos back when I played it. Watching that video made me tear up a bit and I thank you for your content and this video, it's magnificent. Ps : I know you have released a longer one at some point, simply this one is the original one I've watched ^^'
Holy shit that was good. Demonstrates the many reasons why I love this game and wish for it to be remastered. Aside from the potential new content and fixing technical limitations, I just want Ludger to be made into the fully-voiced and actualized character that he should be like the series traditionally features.
I can't believe they threw out this combat and went with what they did in Zestiria and Berseria. How did go from one of the best combat styles almost like DMC to generic button mashers?
They deemed it too complex to appeal to the general audience. And they were right, the battle system in the hands of a casual player feels clunky and very simple. It's a battle system that's only appreciated by the veterans of the series or fans of spectacle fighters. Still a shame, Xillia 2 is my favourite Tales game and this is one of the reasons, but business is business.
OMG this is awesome! These combos are a lot better than some of the recent action games. Can you please post your setup for each character like what artes and skills did you set up in order to pull off these combos.
just taking a wild guess that this guy uses the additional shortcuts to use most of his artes? just goes to show that they are more use full then i thought
I'm just randomly watching this. owo I was super bored. Hope there aren't any spoilers in here, but if there's some romantic couple moments, I'll let it go by. ._.
Francisco Perez Thank you:D Recently, I also got the English version of this game. And I'm playing it now. Some artes name seems to be completely changed, and I can't master all artes. So would you wait for a time?
Well actually you don't need a setup, just put their whole skills in their slots. It's just like with Tekken. But his ( donguri990s) feeling for that is really impressive! Well, actually, it's god-like! :D You're inspiring me!
Excellent combo video! The combos were really entertaining to watch and the editing was spot-on! I do have one question, what is the song that plays at 6:10?
Thiogian Damalis There's such an easy solution. Every try playing the entire game with a minimum level Ludger and no Power Charge (unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary, like with Explosma and Explosma EX)? Well, I have, and one thing that I realized is that you start discovering A LOT of movement options the game didn't intend you to use in order to wither away huge boss' iron defense without getting hit. Mines and hungry hunter always tended to chew away the most iron defense, but they're the hardest to set up and easily punishable. So, how would an online versus mode work? Simple: set each character up with a few permanent stats. High VIT, PSY, and HP, but low STR, and a set of first tier weapons, any armor, and one accessory of the player's choice. Then, it becomes a matter of matchup and who can get through the other person's iron defense first. Ban all Power charges, ban the extended Power Combo damage and duration from the grade shop, ban grounded stance, aerial armor, and mobile armor, and the characters' stats I mentioned above would leave you having to pull two or three combos to actually finish someone off AFTER you've spent a little time chewing through their iron defense. You might even add in a permanent Angel Tear so everyone gets two stocks. Next, these are people we're talking about, not AI. If you try to go high and spam Lightning, you'll just get avoided. If you try to rush in with Falling Snow or wall out with Ludger's handguns, you'll just be circumvented and/or blocked. If you emergency warp, you'll avoid some combos, but you leave yourself punishable/chaseable. Elize has Teepo Roar, auto medicine, and her taunt as zoning tools, but she's slow. If all else fails , just remove the power combo mechanic altogether. Players never actually get power combo'ed by bosses, but in turn, they can't counterattack. You can still get combo'ed when your iron stance is down, but you're not taking ridiculous amounts of damage. That, or you could add power combos, but when they're over, give the player getting combo'ed a counterattack, so they can get out of the combo. See, when a boss counters you, he's using an invisible tension meter. Some artes you use on the boss increase tension a lot, do a lot of damage, and suck at chewing iron defense. Some do good iron defense chewing, good damage, but are slow and punishable. This basically equates to players not being able to spam memorized combos. They instead have to take into consideration the way the combo moves them, how they'll react to a counterattack, safe approach options they can string into a combo (which is a lot easier said than done, considering you can't predict when their iron stance will finally fail). In other words, mindgames that could turn into a metagame. Remember Street Fighter 2? Ever seen some of the combo strings in that game? They're not as long as the Xillia strings, but they're still combos nonetheless - they just don't finish the opponent off. - Ever watch C9 Mang0 waveshine his way into a ridiculous combo on Battlefield (talking about Melee)? Combos aren't a bad thing, and chewing through iron defense with more advanced movement options to pull one off could be a higher risk, greater reward type of feeling. All you have to do to make other weaker characters more viable is increase some of their permanent stats, maybe add more than one game mode based on what I mentioned above, and you've got yourself a versus mode similar to For Glory in Sm4sh.
I can't believe it's been 8 years since this masterpiece was uploaded. I still come back to it every few months to watch it it's just so good.
コンボも凄いんだけど時々挟むムービーに涙が出てしまう
編集神すぎて感動する コンボもやばすぎる かっこよすぎ
During Ludger's final mystic arte, Eternal Waltz, you did something that I wish the game had done. Cranked the music up it makes it so much more epic.
Absolutely ridiculous. This is a masterpiece, combo-wise and editing-wise, i've been watching it every once in a while for years, never gets old.
same lmao out here again watching it for like 50 ish time or maybe more (used to watch it a lot back in the day to practice combos) even though i dont play it anymore

Thank you!
ルドガーが選んだ唯一無二の存在。エルにはルドガーが掴めなかった「幸せ」を掴んでほしい。
やっぱりルドガーが市場カッコいい
8 years and the video still very good

This was incredible great job! All the combos look amazing. The editing with the scenes and music together with the combos was perfect.
Thank you:D
If there's anything that makes me happy in an RPG, its juggles

Does anyone knows the song that plays at 00:36? The instrumental one.
I know it's 2 years after, but the song is called "For the sake of mutual proof"
after i watch your video, i want to play Tales of Xillia 2 and still waiting for PC version
it can be played on pc
just taking a wild guess that this guy uses the additional shortcuts to use most of his artes? just goes to show that they are more use full then i thought

Pleads tell me your set up for the arts and skills. Love your combos!
Francisco Perez
Thank you:D Recently, I also got the English version of this game. And I'm playing it now.
Some artes name seems to be completely changed, and I can't master all artes. So would you
wait for a time?
Yeah I'll wait I'm in ng+ now
Francisco Perez
I'm trying NG+. And I decided to upload its 2nd play:D. I recorded my set up for the artes and skills.

Very nice indeed
thank you:)
Excellent combo video! The combos were really entertaining to watch and the editing was spot-on! I do have one question, what is the song that plays at 6:10?
Marcos Faria
Thank you for watching^^
The song is this game's BGM. When you fight with the last boss, you will hear it:D
Marcos Faria
It's called "If It's For You"
Plays specifically during the final phase of the final boss.
why does it seem you guys have infinite AP and TP? May I know what skill and artes setup you have? Thanks a bunch!
3:30 Which art is that?
Falling Snow reverse you can make it reverse by opening at the. hidden chest in Ludger's room
8:32
I really love this. Could you tell me what did you use to edit the video, please?
Anyway, thanks for the video, is awesome
Pablo Bernal
Thank you. I used AviUtl, which is a free and very useful soft.
I saw videos after realising that i sucks at combo . Every one i saw desesparate me more and YOU KILLED ME ! Did you trained ? :(
Alex hudry
Of course, I did.
God... this game would be some fucking awesome with online versus play. :D
+Caleb Schubert (Sheats) lol, nope.
i can imagine many people spamming muzet and ludger combo arte
