    loool I never normally get angry at comments but people on this video are so rude. Most of the comments on this video are by people who also have mental health problems and “comparing” or belittling me. AT THE END OF THE VIDEO I SHOW THE ROOM. So first off, it’s not click bait. Secondly, this video in NO WAY glamorises mental health problems. As you can see the room is disgusting and bare, it’s depressing in itself. I wasn’t allowed to have any comforts, and would have to sneak my blanket in. I would come from leave every night and lie in that bed crying from pure loneliness. I felt exiled, but you know what?! I would force myself to think of the next day when I’d be able to go home again. Now if you wanted me to show that, I could’ve. I could’ve show all the times I actually had to be dragged back onto the ward kicking and screaming because of how much I hated it there. But who would that help?? By not showing my lowest parts, I’m therefore romanticising my journey?! If that’s the the case then so be it. Because I’m pretty sure if I showed the lowest points I would probably have upset more people. I know from my point of view I don’t want to see people crying or screaming or self harming. Because that would really upset me. So please think before you comment. Don’t judge me on how I was recovering at the time, I’m now nearly a whole year out of hospital after being in and out every few months since I was 17. I must be doing something right. Remember, I am a person, I have feelings, and I’m very open to constructive criticism, just not pure ignorance If you too, suffer with mental health problems - don’t be ignorant or rude because YOU KNOW first hand how much that hurts.

    For everyone saying "that psych ward isn't like the ones we have here" the pretty bedroom is NOT the psych ward. She shows her psychiatric hospital room at the end of the video

  • @marieroseeee

    JUST A DISCLAIMER, the FIRST bedroom shown in this video is actually my own bedroom at home! The one at the end of the video is in the psychiatric hospital :) sorry for any confusion! x

      marieroseeee marieroseeee so why would you say the whole video is about your psych ward room when it's all just your normal room? lol that desperate for likes to the point you have to do click bate? psych wards never allow cameras and certainly not curtains, something you could hard yourself with and free open windows.

    • @marieroseeee
      @marieroseeee  7 лет назад +31

      paige scene lol excuse me but if you actually watched the video, you will see the psych room. So it's not click bait when I actually do what I said in the title :)

    For people commenting that this isnt a real mental health ward ect, theres different wards with different amounts of security, if youre at high risk you can get moved to a room where theres only a bed and walls,
    for example. Not everyone needs that. Also, The curtains and bed sheets are made in a special way where they cant suffocate you or be removed from the wall , they also do checks on you randomly every 10 mins even throught the night. she must have been able to sneak her camera in somehow which isnt too hard as ive snuck my phone in a couple of times. mental health hospitals are not how u see them on TV

    • @gabrieldeollos6917
      @gabrieldeollos6917 6 лет назад +5

      Esha Chowdhory or she went to a hospital home, where you stay for a couple weeks or months and you have normal privileges and you can have your phone along with going to places out of the home, and you can run away from there and they won’t do anything.

    • @MentalHealthJourney
      @MentalHealthJourney 5 лет назад +2

      This is a pretty standard UK acute ward to be honest! Some are stricter than others but it generally depends on the trust that runs it. The ones where I live they don't routinely search your stuff but in the next city they do!

    • @JillianNoelle
      @JillianNoelle 4 года назад +1

      It’s not like that here in the states. There ok but very strict and lock down. Some nicer then others and depending what state your in two. Go home passes where taken from most places cause people never came back. Unless you got private insurance or pay slot of money for a all voluntary facility.

    I know this video was a while ago and so we're these comments, honestly I'm disgusted with how people have reacted. People actually comparing their conditions to one another, what about supporting each other?? Where's the help and the love at? Most of the comments are saying how they'd rather live in a psych ward like what on earth?!?! How heartless can yall be? It's not a choice, it's not something fun or cool, and it's definitely not a joke!! I'm actually disgusted wow.

    my psych rooms had little fake aluminum mirrors and
    mesh windows so you
    couldn't break the glass. and we couldn't have any electronics :( it's weird how different it is over here.
    I'm glad you're recovering.

      Oh my god the "waiting room" until I got a bed was terrible and the most bland thing I had ever been in. Not even a clock it windows, it would've driven me mad if I was there for a full day. I would ask what time it was and I would be like, what?? I thought it was 11pm and it was 11am because everything felt so long and tiring. There were aluminum "mirrors" I guess that were foggy and dirty and disgusting

      @marieroseeee  6 лет назад +48

      You’re honesty is so important, I TOTALLY understand that mentality. It’s like you just want some help because you don’t know how to fix what you’re feeling. Please tell someone - you don’t have to suffer in silence and people will help and value you. I’m so sorry you feel this way, please keep going xxxx

    • @vladislava8351
      @vladislava8351 6 лет назад +1

      I would be careful with telling stuff like that unless you know of a very good mental hospital off the top of your head. The one I was involuntary placed in was bad. Did nothing for 90% of the time. 3 days cost me $9,000 dollars. Now I’m never going to tell authority figures that I wanna die or anything close to it lol. Just that I’m “very sad”

    More residential type facilities or go home ones on pass here are private insurance only. They don’t do day passes except in state hospitals. The baker act facility’s are a dungeon. I’m glad you where able to have that time to film and be productive somewhat. It’s important and helpful to treatment. I wish they had more of that here. It’s high risk like lock down everywhere here. But it’s all good, I’ve been in a lot of different types and now uninsured keeps me out of them. They feed you drugs and there’s 0 activity’s but a tv and rooms like yours on the ward. They stopped giving go home passes cause everywhere people stopped coming back to hospital.
    Keep it up though. I’m proud of you. I’m not judging you. Your a strong woman!

    Wow, this is crazy to see!! I've been to 3 different hospitals and they're all completely different from yours. The windows stay locked with a key, no mirrors, no chairs, the bathroom is separate from the room out in the hallway, a very small shelf to keep your belongings but you're not allowed to bring your own blanket, cell phone, etc. Any shampoo/conditioner or small necessities you have stay under lock and key at the front desk. You can only use them when permitted. No shoes or clothes with strings allowed. No makeup allowed.

The rooms had 2shelf empty book case looking things in the room, each room had 2beds and each room had a bathroom, toilet and shower, no door knobs or locks of course. I didnt have a roomate for like 3days I was soooo bored when I was in my room cant imagine never having one

      When I was in a psych hospital I had to share my room with 3 other people, all we could have was a bed and bedside table and some of our stuff. The walls and beds were covered with words and pencil scribbles and it was just really depressing lmao. I'm glad you got a nice room

    That room looks cozy compared to what I had when I was in ward.. :/ I did not have a room to myself. I had a bed sheet for a blanket and my matters was more of the consistency of a gym mat. Our bathroom would lock if we close it so we always had to get permission to open it (same with going into our rooms) no blinds either just a bed and one shelf. Phones were taken away too, anything metal or “sharp” so no wire bras lol no jewelry etc

    I've been to 3 mental hospitals and a crisis center. One of the psych hospitals I was in the juvenile wing and the other two I was in the adult wing. I was never allowed any electronics at all. All you are really allowed is basic clothing without strings and no shorts or anything considered provocative. I live in California by the way and have been to them in San Diego and Los Angeles

      Not in America. The psychiatric hospitals here are fucking DEPLORABLE. All due to the fact that I wanted help, I called the suicide hotline, and said I was feeling suicidal and talked about a possible plan (even though I told the person that I knew deep-down I wasn't going to harm myself that night), they called the cops on me without warning that it could happen and I was forced to stay at my local hospital in an mental treatment facility that felt more like jail (in formal terms, Involuntary EP Admission) than anything. They gave me a shitty room with just a low-budget tv, a word search booklet, a chair, and a shitty bed, NOTHING else. And remember, I was forced to have security lock up all my belongings such as my phone and wallet and if that doesn't sound bad enough, I'm not done yet. The food they give you smells and tastes like shit and they give you something whether you want food or not. Even foods I usually love taste fucking disgusting. And to add on top of that, my room has open windows out into the corridor w/the front desk my my room doesn't even have a lock, and the lights NEVER turn off. And what about the bathroom? Fuck, that shit room made it even worse! No one gets their own bathroom and everyone in the area instead shares one 24/7 unlocked bathroom with one toilet and a shitty sink with a broken soap dispenser, a weird-ass faucet, and NO paper towels nor hand dryers. There was no hand sanitizer available, even at the front desk and plus, one other patient near my room was severely ill mentally and always went around his room and corridor yelling stupid random fucking bullshit and even did it PAST FUCKING 1 AM. When I asked if I could move somewhere away from this thug, they said I had no choice and that until evaluation by a psychiatrist that i'm "safe" enough to be discharged, I'm by law stuck here no matter how miserable it is. I struggle with anxiety in such situations, but despite the fact that the nurses and security claimed to care for my well-being, I could see right through their numerous white lies that they clearly didn't give a flying fuck. I practically got no sleep that night and despite how many times I asked when I would be evaluated, they would only tell me that they don't know. After fighting my way into reading the information, I realized that the psychiatrist could take 24 FUCKING HOURS to come to me. Thankfully, I was evaluated the next day by late-afternoon and lied my ass off about how i felt just to get the fuck out of that shithole of a mental treatment center. The next day after I'm finally discharged, I'm in so much shock that this all happened and then next evening, I realize I'm nauseous and soon enough, I'm barfing non-stop while still tasting the atrocious tastes I remember from the hospital. I think it's fair to say that my experience only fucked my emotions up even more, despite claims that this experience would do the exact opposite

    Are you allowed to have electronics in the ward? Like your iPad or can you have an iPod or something? Because when I was in a psych ward we couldn’t have those things... which made it a lot more lonely and sad because I couldn’t do anything but lay on my bed and sleep or cry.

    When I tried to commit suicide at 14 we had 4 cots in one room and one closet with one shelf a piece.... A bathroom with no door just a tiny cubby where the toilet was.. Like prison practically.... No art supplies, no talking to the other kids unless it was in group. Nothing... Literally... They don't know how to handle mental health where I live... They drove me 2 hours from home in a cop car,was in the er on suicide watch for 13 hours, no food! Just a water. They only fed us dinner... So like... Got there at 5 am, they drew blood and tests every morning at 6, so I was so dehydrated and starving til 9 that night.... I was used to it cause I used to not eat but at dinner time everyday. But like i'd never go back...

    Is never ever gone into any type (including especially, but in this case especially phys) hospital room & the bed has not been made... Okay only going to private hospitals now - I guess you get what you pay for: so I’m unable to work due to physical disabilities (apart from being mostly confined to bed and needing a full-time Carer) I need a wheelchair - but I would give anything to be able to work!. So I don’t get nice new cloths , new iPhones or iPad’s: literally all of my money goes in private health insurance (you would be shocked at the amount of thousands pay each year), along with medical bills plus medication that isn’t covered under a government safety net program. But I know the high quality of medical care when I need (whatever that type of medical care maybe). I don’t know why this is not having a dig at you personally no one in England seems to consider private health insurance...

    I've been in 4 different mental hospitals 5 different times (in the US). We don't get to have any of that kind of stuff...decorations/cameras/phone/make up/etc and we definitely don't get to leave when we are inpatient. I just end up Baker Acted then I act the way they want me to and say exactly what they want so I can leave asap.
