People fail to realize that the order of service is NOT by who arrives first, but by medical needs based on triage decisions. An empty bed doesn't mean it's actually empty - it may be held for an incoming trauma, cardiac arrest, or stroke patient.....
As someone who had a major operation removing my pheochromocytoma (rare tumor) as well as spending time in ICU and then back to the ward, I could never treat the staff like this. They helped me so much, they made sure my pain was under control and if I needed them and they were busy, I would wait until someone was ready to come to me. This guy is beyond disrespectful. I wouldn’t dare treat them like this. Thank you to all the health care workers out there 🙏🏻 you do a fantastic job!
Kimmel, I'm with you on that! I wouldn't tolerate being abused by any patient. That wouldn't be my job. I guess it takes being old to have the freedom of not putting up with ass holes such as him.
The mother of that huge baby helped create the problem he is now today. How could anyone be so self important? I feel for the nurses who have to deal with someone like that.
I Agee. Just because he was in and out of the hospital for most of his childhood it doesn't give him the right to be rude. It should make him appreciate them more. He's a rude, entitled mama's boy.
That guy was BEYOND RUDE. He’s selfish to think this nurse doesn’t have anything better to do than take his order like you’re at some fast food joint. 😒😒
It's even more clear that the rude guy seems just fine when no one's around, playing with his phone, wanting food. Laying down, able to speak in very long sentences when complaining , no adventitious respiratory sounds or cough. When you have severe pain or dyspnea, you don't care about your phone and eating is not something you are worried about.Never would have been admitted to most hospitals. Anything he needs could be done outpatient. He does not need IV fluids ,antibiotics, Respiratory therapy or support, or observation. I think he was admitted to shut him up and get him out of the A&E. I doubt that he feels any remorse for his self entitled narcissistic behavior. Sadly there were likely others more ill in the waiting area and he likely also didn't need ambulance transport, but his behavior made him a priority. People like him are one of the reasons the NHS has trouble with overrun A&Es, inpatient bed shortages and longer ambulance times. Loud complaining patients or relatives often do get seen sooner, just to shut them up. Very sad fact. Triage gets trumped by narcissists, drunks, and those who are yelling loudest.
37 year old dad acts like he’s in a restaurant. Ordering strong pain killers, telling people what they need to do, ordering food. Disgusting. Yeah looks like he’s in a lot of pain. 🙄
He's my son's age. If it were my son and I were there, if he made one rude comment, I'd shut him down right then and there. Then again, I didn't raise my son to have that kind of sense of entitlement.

Blessings to you from a retired nurse that worked in long term care most of my career. I pray you continue to get good care from people that treat you with respect.
As someone who spent five weeks in hospital after five days on acute dialysis due to kidney failure, once I was conscious enough to keep more than two words together in my head, it was ALWAYS please and thank you. I also tried very hard to keep the staff laughing because I know how hard of a grind some shifts can be after 5 years of working as nurses aide and med aide in nursing homes and dementia units. I would have staff stopping by my room for a laugh as a pick me up for them to go on with their day. Staff ALWAYS appreciate pleases and thank yous! And a laugh or two... 😅
Omg I'm a Registered Nurse and if that guy was my patient I would say you can't eat anything until the dr has cleared you.Well that's what we do in Australian EDs departments
He should be NPO, nothing by mouth, until he has been diagnosed. Don't want anything in his stomach if he requires a procedure that requires sedation or anesthesia. He could aspirate the food and get aspiration pnemonia.
Whoever is a nurse out there all I can say is thank you so highly for your patience, your endurance your abilities everything because let’s be honest the shit you put up with unbelievable

he could've scheduled and appointment or go to a walk-in clinic instead of a hospital. The last time I went to a hospital for something not necessarily ASAP emergency was when I was having intense jaw pain and urgent care and the dentist were closed because it was a Sunday.
Agreed. The wonderful nurses who took care of me during a hospitalization all said they couldn't do my job (high school teacher). I told them if I had their jobs, I would be slapping someone on Day 1 and get fired and arrested.
I can’t believe Stacey has any willing friends or family at all. I don’t know how anyone can stand him for even a minute, let alone long enough to form a relationship!

Nothing worse than an Entitled Patient with Government Paid healthcare while the workers break their backs and refuse to go to hospitals because they can't afford the hit to their deductibles.

It still happens in the US. My hubby was Security and he had to be there to witness these atrocities for himself. He usually had to insinuate about what he could do to them to protect the nurses, techs, and orderlies. His nickname amongst his team was ‘Honeybadger’. Lol. 😹 He wouldn’t EVER do anything, but he definitely put the fear of God in5o them!
Unfortunately, there are still a lot of nurses, aides, and other staff who are assaulted, made to endure verbal abuse, and general rude treatment by patients and family members. I've seen it even in this little town where I now live. Over the last couple years I've spent plenty of time in ER, rehab, and assisted living with my (96 yo) mom. You can darn well bet I'm grateful for those who are tasked with caring for her and give them the respect they deserve. I strive to be as pleasant as possible and don't ask for "extra."
I imagine they try to keep a bed open in case of an emergency. And the complainers in waiting room need to wait till they can get to them. Nobodies making them stay.
If you have a collapsed lung, you would be having extreme shortness of breath, need oxygen and a chest tube inserted immediately. Believe me I knew. I have had one a had horrible experience and the pain. He has scar tissue from the collapse lung that causes pain when he moves.
When I was born my grandpa was 36. Grandma was 39. I loved having young grandparents because they were always able to play with me, or we could go out to the later showings for movies… they were so fun to be around, and they never got too tired or impatient. My grandparents are in their 70’s now, and they are very precious to me. They have slowed down as they have aged; but they’re still so fun to hang out with, and they travel as much as they can.
Ya’ll are so polite that Stacey kid would have been checked more than once. Staff while we’re there to help you and comfort patients we do not allow that crap.
I was thinking the same thing! And if they wanted/needed to be seen same day, just go to urgent care. But I honestly don't know if the UK has urgent care centers like we do in the US. Maybe they do, but that isn't covered by the NHS? Maybe they think "hey, if I go to the hospital, they have to see me and treat me, they can't turn me away" idk
Pt. Stacey had had a collapsed lung 8 years earlier. He was concerned about complications, and rightly so. Behaving like an entitled jerk didn't change that fact.
It's hard to imagine a quiet ER in a city the size of London. I had a variety of nursing careers in my 52 1/2 years, some hectic, but never to the degree that those dedicated folks are.
I used to have terrible hiccups. The best remedy was a little bit of mustard--something in the mustard would shock my system enough that the hiccups would always stop.
That poor guy with persistent hiccups. I do know of one guy who had that problem who died in the end of heart failure after suffering for days without cease.
I live with a nightmare of severe pain (past 13 years), it’s a struggle to get me to eat because the pain causes intense nausea. I can’t imagine being hungry enough to order food, let alone be picky about it.
The nurses saying how they wish they could tell everyone able to go to their own local GPs were 100% right. ( 36:00 ) Here in Australia we have a ‘Do I need the ED?’ campaign with alternative 24hr care options to *try* deter that. I think it’s definitely something other countries should take up to at least make the public think about what severity an injury really is & try promoting more frugal attitudes towards Emergency Resources.
We have something similar in the states. We call our PCP’s office or the After Hours office before we go to an Emergency Department. Unless it is life-threatening. Then we are told to call our 911 for ambulance services. Folks without insurance go to the local County Hospitals where they are triaged and seen based on severity of their conditions. Seems to work very well here. Best wishes to all!
Unfortunately one of the last hospitals I worked at had a lot of people from one part of the world who went into nursing simply to get to the US. They didn't care about the patients at all and constantly complained about how hard they had to work 🙄 It was quite unpleasant.
People fail to realize that the order of service is NOT by who arrives first, but by medical needs based on triage decisions. An empty bed doesn't mean it's actually empty - it may be held for an incoming trauma, cardiac arrest, or stroke patient.....
And if you're NOT the one who gets rushed back, system, with a dozen people crowding round... be thankful, it means you aren't dying.

Yes, it hurts. His collapsed lung was 8 years prior. They were concerned about complications. It must have been a messy pneumothorax.
I cannot imagine being a 37yo grandparent.
It’s a joy
When I was born my grandpa was 36. Grandma was 39. I loved having young grandparents because they were always able to play with me, or we could go out to the later showings for movies… they were so fun to be around, and they never got too tired or impatient. My grandparents are in their 70’s now, and they are very precious to me. They have slowed down as they have aged; but they’re still so fun to hang out with, and they travel as much as they can.
He still cries like a baby when he can't get his own way!
Ya’ll are so polite that Stacey kid would have been checked more than once. Staff while we’re there to help you and comfort patients we do not allow that crap.
I feel like that many of the complaints could be adressed by their GP. But maybe things don't work that way in the UK? Does anyone know?
I was thinking the same thing! And if they wanted/needed to be seen same day, just go to urgent care. But I honestly don't know if the UK has urgent care centers like we do in the US. Maybe they do, but that isn't covered by the NHS? Maybe they think "hey, if I go to the hospital, they have to see me and treat me, they can't turn me away" idk
He doesn't have a collapsed lung if hes lying there eating.
Pt. Stacey had had a collapsed lung 8 years earlier. He was concerned about complications, and rightly so. Behaving like an entitled jerk didn't change that fact.
Whining pain in the arse
You put that much more politely than what I was going to type!!
I would have threw the coffee and sandwich at him. Told him to go home
Laxatives in tuna will do the work
SO proud of Henry !!!!👏🙌
In 60 years, I've been in the ER 3 times. I was in WAY worse shape than Stacy. He looks like I feel at home, most days. What a baby.
It's hard to imagine a quiet ER in a city the size of London. I had a variety of nursing careers in my 52 1/2 years, some hectic, but never to the degree that those dedicated folks are.
Good for you!! I had a lot of jobs, too - with some Extremely hairy situations! Makes for good stories now😂

The rude people need to be put in their place. Chill or leave . No other option.
I used to have terrible hiccups. The best remedy was a little bit of mustard--something in the mustard would shock my system enough that the hiccups would always stop.
I believe the pain is the jerks lungs are radiating from his butt. Much too coddled. Very comfortable and entitled he is.
🤣
People that say things like "you either like me or you don't "....I don't. Arrogant little sod...
That poor guy with persistent hiccups. I do know of one guy who had that problem who died in the end of heart failure after suffering for days without cease.
Can they just rename this episode “Toxic Masculinity in the ER?” Good lord.
There’s no such thing as toxic masculinity. Just rude people period.
Lol
I think he’s looking for pain pill to get high
I live with a nightmare of severe pain (past 13 years), it’s a struggle to get me to eat because the pain causes intense nausea. I can’t imagine being hungry enough to order food, let alone be picky about it.
...and be such a wuss about a piece of lettuce that he can't take it off himself, then yells at his gf for not doing it right, What a PITA.
They are really busy & they are stretched & pulled in every direction. So if you could please give them a little break. ❤
What a big baby!!! If I was her, I would have left!! F him!!
The nurses saying how they wish they could tell everyone able to go to their own local GPs were 100% right. ( 36:00 )
Here in Australia we have a ‘Do I need the ED?’ campaign with alternative 24hr care options to *try* deter that.
I think it’s definitely something other countries should take up to at least make the public think about what severity an injury really is & try promoting more frugal attitudes towards Emergency Resources.
I really don't think that advertising campaign would make any difference to the likes of some🤨
We have something similar in the states.
In the US we have zillions of illegals who don't have a doctor & the ER is free, so they come for Everything! 😡
Unfortunately one of the last hospitals I worked at had a lot of people from one part of the world who went into nursing simply to get to the US. They didn't care about the patients at all and constantly complained about how hard they had to work 🙄 It was quite unpleasant.
Seems like Stacey is pain meds seeking
Not according to his medical history.
maybe they should grade assalts? Level A B C D depending on how much head/body involvement severity.
He has a so called collapsed lung, but he can bark orders?? 😅
He had had a collapsed lung 8 years ago. There is concern about complications.
@@patriciarossman8653there was none he wanted drugs.
@@patriciarossman8653EIGHT years ago??!! And he hasn't healed yet? Yer roight🤨
