  • This is a very talky episode, which is unfortunate as I can barely speak English. Anyway, we do our first historic site, and make our way to the Six Day Stilt!

The reason for the strange attack percentage on one of the daggers is because when you change your main weapon to a specific non-default limb, the previous main hand inherits the attack chance of the new main hand.
Horns as a mutation always have a fixed 20% chance to gore your target on attack. This is not boosted by multi weapon fighting in any way. So that means that your original main hand inherits that fixed 20% attack chance from the horn when you made the horn your main weapon.
I believe Stingers behave the same, but other natural weapons for both you and mobs will behave like normal off hands and benefit from multi weapon fighting.
Important to make sure you put your weakest weapon in that hand that has inherited horns' 20% attack rate! It might be interesting to experiment with putting a hand held shield in that slot, as there may not be any penalty?
Another small note, but in the most recent patch that they "nerfed" dual wield and renamed it to multi weapon fighting, they made the skills in the multi tree apply to multiple arms. Previously the two extra arms from that mutation didn't benefit, similar to horns, and caused this sort of funky behaviour constantly. I think the wiki is still even out of date about this fact. So multi weapon fighting wasn't strictly a nerfed version of dual wield!

Ahhh really? That does seem to be what I'm experiencing. Thank you for the info! I think I will put a shield in the hand in that case. Yeah I remember the days when dual wield skills didn't apply to multiple arms, made it a lot less appealing back then! Similarly, I'm glad they added single weapon fighting and made horns/stingers compatible now.

@@Rogue_Rat Try to go out of your way to find a carbide wrist blade to mount on one of your extra arm wrists to make up for losing a weapon slot if you do go the shield route!
It's a damn shame that those wrist blades only come in carbide rarity because it fits so well into the ball-of-pointy-limbs fantasy.

I will add small thing for beginners - if you want to be super self-sustained the trio Scavenging, Disassemble and Tinker I is, at least for me, essential. Tinker allows you to recharge the cells and on your way you'll find so many trash that you can disassemble, including rods or guns, that you'll have enough bits to recharge your cells on spot.

I think all your weapons may be drained after digging through the shale in the last episode.

It’d be nice if when you explained things you also said why to do them in the long run. For example you said you want to aim for 300-350 mechanamist rep but gave no reason why

I recently played a chimera with 7 arms, and I was pretty puzzled by attack chances as well. I think the main weapon will always attack (obviously) and that two other limbs will receive the bonus from multiple arms mutation and stack on top of the multiweapon fighting chance. I think the limbs that get the bonus change depending on the primary weapon location, like if it's horns and not an arms. Still not entirely sure, honestly. I spent a lot of my playthrough wondering if it was bugged, but I think it's working as intended and I just don't understand it lol

Its not just me then! Good haha. Still not entirely sure, but it seems that only 3 of my limbs and my face slots get the bonus, it's jsut that one hand that doesn't. Still, we should know better than try to interpret a game as esoteric as Qud!
