- I found an amazing old dictionary in a secondhand shop that is from 1889. Not only that, but the book is from a high school in Carmel, California. I would love to see that old school. That is, if it is still there.
The book was water damaged somewhere in passage or possibly was damaged in storage from previous owner. Who knows? I just knew I had to have this comprehensive dictionary. This book is only G through L. Imagine how many words in there I have never heard of! My study today is on the words that I did not know the definition to or had never heard of before. Very enlightening. Some words have two whole pages of definitions! Common words! Simply astounding. I never made it past the letter G. Enjoy the paper crinkles and old fashioned setting. Dream of the old days. That's what I do. (sigh)

That's an old one, all right. I suppose with this disctionary from such time would contain some words that are perhaps Shakespeare worthy.
The crinkles are so naturally perfect. Crinkly but soft and gentle, comforting in the right manner. And i like how everything is vintage themed. From the plain wooden desk to the feather quill and bottle of ink.

I am not a video/audio expert so I don't know exactly why but there is something unique in your work. The sound is just so relaxing. It's never too much or too less. It's just so... right. It's almost like I'm listening to a quite movie. Is it because of the mic setting? Or some kind of rendering adjustment? Whatever it is, it surely made the sound amazing... The microphone is not powered. It is a simple device. Both of them. But I get better or worse sound from them, depending on where I place them. 👍🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️

Ah, cool. Old stuff. I always love old books and other implements of previous generations. Just yesterday I finished a three-day "media fast," where I cut out all movies, shows, podcasts, RUclips videos, etc. It felt kind of like going back in time. The natural result was doing a lot of reading and studying of various things. The first day was kind of tough, because my apartment felt so quiet and lonely with no voices in it, but after that it was actually pretty pleasant. It actually made me think I should spend more time silencing the elements of modern life.

I applaud your determination to go on a fast of all media. So glad that it was a success for you. What a great thing to do. That's something I can't even conceive of now that I have a channel. But I think it would still be possible on some level. My husband and I would be climbing the walls just at first if we did something like that. Similar to when the electricity goes out. 😂
The house is coming together pretty well here in California. I was able to do a role-play just recently. It's turning out to be quite a success. That's kind of a shock to me. But we can certainly use the extra money and support. Times are tough right now with Jerry's brother in the hospital. We drive over to Reno from time to time to see him in the hospital. Other than that, all is well. I hope the same for you?

It was nice to take some time to do little more than read books and write things. I actually think in many ways we are more productive when certain limitations are in place than we are when there are a thousand options to have to choose from.
I'm glad to hear that things are going well in California! That is good. Looking through your recent videos, it seems to have been a good move for you. I'm quite sorry to hear about the financial difficulties and the hospitalization in the family, though. Unfortunately life can sometimes be tough like that and there doesn't seem to be any way to escape that reality. I hope things start improving soon and I will send up a prayer for you!

I fell down about a year and a half ago. Fell straight forward as I tripped over an uneven sidewalk. Both wrists felt like they were broken. They weren't! But they took 6 months to heal. No more falling down for me! I can't afford it! WE can't afford it!

Thank you, Rebecca. I fell in San Diego during a girls’ trip and had to get an X-ray, CT scan, and MRI before they could rule out a fracture. But it brought the trip to an abrupt end. 😕 I know what you mean about the wrists. Mine are both sprained and bruised, which makes using crutches extremely difficult. Had a couple of very nice flights and layover experiences; staff were very gracious and kind as they wheeled me through the airports and jetways. Home now and taking it easy. It may be 4 weeks before hip is totally normal-and I’m a go-getter-so this is going to be frustrating. I’m so very grateful it’s not worse. My mom fractured her hip at my age when she fell off a ladder, and had it bolted back together.

We go the week after next, thank you so much, that's so kind of you. I think the world is going a little technology crazy. An app for this that and the other. Sometimes I tell stores I don't have a smartphone just so I can either get my receipt in paper form or via email. It's why I love to knit, cross stitch and embroidery, some things, you can't replace the art of hand/home made 🥰🤗

The book comes from a high school in Carmel, California. It is a genuine antique. Published 1889. I bought it at a secondhand shop that my brother-in-law owns. The book is water damaged. I guess that happened somewhere through the years. I didn't do anything to it.

oh you have no idea how scared i was that you were going to write in that book 😂 i’m an archiving assistant in a library and we deal with suuuuuper old books so it’s my first instinct to protect the book 😅😂

But I did use some binding glue to repair the spine. Also a no-no, I think.
