You have some lovely plants in your garden. I bought a Thalictrum plant this year but it doesn't seem to be doing much. Certainly no flowers but perhaps it'll do better next year. I do enjoy seeing Lars in the greenhouse with the snow on the ground and then the difference to now when your garden is full of colour. Have a great weekend.
Hmmm... maybe it will flower for you next year then. It is so wispy and airy... hope you get to enjoy it in your garden, too. And we agree about the snow! It's easy to forget how empty and bare the space looks in the winter. That's really why we started RUclips at all... more to keep a record. AND then to meet kind garden lovers (like you!) from all over the world. That's an extra bonus :)
I do want to try these because I really lean towards the more vertical Perennials. Im not sure how theyll fare with southwestern Texas heat....maybe morning sun.
They are really pretty - but you’re right, that heat might not be their favorite. They get full sun here… but it’s (sadly) not sunny every day. Hope you’re finding some shade this summer! Think about you and the heat when it’s raining here 😀
At the end of July, my Thalictrum plants have very yellow leaves and do not look good. We have had a very wet summer. Is this normal that the plants die back so soon? They are sitting in 1/2 shade and I have tested the soil for moisture and the soil is not overly wet. Too little sun or too much rain? Any help would be great as I love this plant. I have „Little Pinkie“.
Hmmmm. Ours are already finished flowering and going to seed here at the end of July -- did yours flower at all? Your conditions sound great for it -- they grow best in moist, humus-rich, soil and in partial shade. They could be overly wet tho... our summer has been super wet this year, too. Altho we didn't have any problems with these.

Sounds like ours then. We collect the seeds now and cut the rest down (if you want)… otherwise just cut off the yellow, bad-looking foliage and leave the stems with seeds (I think they look nice - even with just seeds on them). But cutting them back won’t hurt anything, and they will come back next year 😀
I can’t get over the coffee filter, it’s such a great idea!
They're quite cheap here -- and made with recycled paper.... plus they can be reused and or composted after :)
