    Great Video of what was fine example of this historic aircraft. Very sad to see that it was lost.

    What an amazing, awesome airplane. All we have now, June 13, 2011, is your memory and the memory of the 17,000 B-17's that helped us win World War II.

    @veggieartist I was out in the field where it crashed. I saw the wreckage. Now seeing it in one piece makes me sad. The tail and the engines and parts of the wings were still intact.
    Damn it, it looks like such a maginficent machine. I've loved B-17's my whole life, I can't believe I saw it in pieces and in ashes (they put out the fire by the time I got there).

    I here that they will restore another b-17 to replace Liberty Belle. Its said they will call it, Liberty Belle II. It is to be based out of Charlotte Douglas Intl's muesuem. My home town!!!

    this plane did not crash..one of the engines caught fire and it was forced to land in a field...where it burned because the fire department would not go into the field because it was wet.

    those fucking fireman, thank you for being there on 9/11 but, please, why didn't you go to the plane to save it, have some respect for the plane and the history of your country.
