I think she was more convincing as a character in Victorious. By the time Sam and Cat was out I think she was losing interest in playing that role since she was older and wanted to focus on singing rather than acting. Her "dumb" voice in Sam and Cat is so forced compared to how she sounded in Victorious when she was younger. It almost reminds me of Steve Urkel's character in Family Matters. As Jaleel White got older he was less able to pull off the nerd voice. I see the same thing with Ariana Grande in these shows.
