If you only put one candidate in though, and they win a seat, or don't get enough votes, your vote is wasted in the next round of counting, so you usually at least put down a few. In my constituency for example there are over 15 candidates running for the Dáil (which is like our House of Commons or House of Representatives.) and we have four seats available. I'm considering putting down 8 or so names. The system is called Proportionate Representation by Single Transferable Vote (PRSTV). It's one of the most representative ways to vote, but it has the disadvantage of returning 'weaker' parties which usually have to go into coalition with one or more parties to form a government.

Believe it or not, some politicians in history really have tried to use the “raise taxes only for poor people to incentivise them to stop being poor” line without a hint of irony, I remember reading about it in a history book, in the context of abolishment of debtors-prisons in the UK
So while capitalism already make poor people poorer and rich people richer (because you must spend money to make more money - better education, investments, expensive places of recreation or interest clubs where you can make useful business connections, etc. The more money available, the easier to make even more) these 5heads decided to push this effect even more by the law geniuses

I have a friend who is basically exactly this. He staunchly believes that he is a member of the republican party, despite being an outspoken anarcho-socialist who wants the government to step in and break up corporations.
Are you sure he's a socialist and not just a free-market capitalist who believes the lack of government influence would cause corporations to break up? I vote Republican because they're the more libertarian party and when you look at the formation of pretty much all major corporations and their sustainment, it all comes down to government involvement. Not capitalism.
I was weirdly not too different in my late teens, though for me it was sort of just an awkward transitional period while I was trying to find a way to reconcile my Catholic morals and anti-capitalist anarchist philosophical leanings in a way that made some degree of sense.
My friend likes to piss everyone off with this statement: "I'm all for abortions, I'm just against a women's right to choose." and watch as everyone gets offended.

I'm pretty sure the swing state thing was a joke about the average swing state voter, but I don't live in america so I'm not 100% on how their political system works, but logically I think you're only allowed to vote in the district you live in
@@drunkenpeanut6582 It's making fun of undecided voters, not voters in swing states. Swing states are states whose Electoral College vote can change from one election to another. That doesn't mean most of their individual voters keep changing their minds, but that the margins in the state are often narrow (near 50/50) and in one election Party A happens to turn out a few more votes, but in the next another election B turns out more voters. In the US, we do not have 1 person 1 vote. People's vote for president count more depending on what state they live in. States are assigned a certain number of electors in the Electoral College depending on the size of their population. The candidate with at least 270 Electoral College votes wins the election. In most states, the presidential candidate who wins the popular vote in that state wins 100% of that state's Electoral College votes, so all you need is 50% + 1 vote and anything beyond that is "wasted." Being in a swing state means your vote for President matters more than those who aren't, because the swing states usually determine who wins the presidency. So the joke in this video is you have an undecided voter whose views are all over the map in a way that doesn't makes sense, and of course it's just our luck that Mr. Chaotic Voter happens to live in a swing state where his vote affects the outcome a lot more.

they can't say its because she's black, so they make up something stupid like that.
This is fire. Im mad about how easily I could connect this to people.
The more money available, the easier to make even more) these 5heads decided to push this effect even more by the law

@@AtticusKarpenter are you a commie by chance?
@@AtticusKarpenter what on earth does that have to do with British debtor-prisons? The modern capitalist system hadn’t even developed yet in the UK when debtor prisons were abolished

Exactly bro he said so much about breaking the duopoly and being pro-environment and creating a less radical America and then he started backing Trump as if Trump isn't the opposite of almost everything that he had been campaigning on.

Can't I just vote for everyone to have a good time?

I have a friend who is basically exactly this. He staunchly believes that he is a member of the republican party, despite being an outspoken anarcho-socialist who wants the government to step in and break up corporations.
Democratic policy is very popular until people find out that it's democratic policy.
@ he definitely dislikes capitalism, more than that I cannot say.
@@ryankunst668 Yeah it's a bit stupid then if he hates capitalism.
I was weirdly not too different in my late teens, though for me it was sort of just an awkward transitional period while I was trying to find a way to reconcile my Catholic morals and anti-capitalist anarchist philosophical leanings in a way that made some degree of sense.

Obviously simplifying it to the "anti-choice" level is ridiculous, but you could transform it into a somewhat reasonable take.

Idk, is being pro abortion and pro gayness socially conservative? And the markets surely don't like the idea of less workers either 😂
The beeper King is here!
Using the words conservative and liberal for financial politics makes no sense, since both ideologies are fundamentally capitalist and have both historically advocated for everything between free market fundamentalism and social democracy.

Btw, you can _choose_ to vote in a swing state? Why isn't everyone doing this?
This was like official position of Russian government in 1990s. Every poor person who died from starvation because bastards dismantled and sold factories with hundreds of thousands of workers are suckers and have to blame themselves
No surprise communist views still widely exist in Russia despite government not looking at it friendly, given THIS was first experience of Russians with capitalism.
Im pretty sure someone did actually say that once, as for voting. I'm like 80% sure you can't choose (idk I never like a candidate enough to vote)
I believe that the 90% who own only 10% of the wealth shouldn’t pay 50% of the taxes.
