This implies Cloud is abusive. He definitely isn't warm or fuzzy, but never physically abusive. He has severe PTSD and can be verbally cold, but I don't believe he is verbally abusive either. Tifa clearly is more loving and nurturing than Cloud. She has her own PTSD as well and I genuinely admire her strength and diligence. Though throughout the game Cloud improves greatly, so I have hope he can show Tifa the love and support she has given him. I believe that a mutually loving and supportive relationship is the best way to go. Sorry but this song annoys me. Love the beat and the vocals are incredible, but it should be used as an example of what to avoid. If I ever hit my wife I would deserve to lose her and everything else. If she hit me I believe she would deserve the same.
Well… technically… Spoiler below if you haven’t played the second part of the FF7 Remake. In Rebirth, Cloud did “put hands on her.” And tried to do much… much worse. Even if he was under Sephiroth’s influence, it still would apply. 😉 There are folks out there who suffer from PTSD attacks and accidentally hurt or kill others. And even though they are not technically at fault, I’m sure they still blame themself for anything that’s happened.
