The only difference is the Leatherman has a harder Steel the fake one will strip and then you won’t be able to get replacement parts. I’m not saying they’re bad, But because of the knock off Leatherman had to discontinue this model so I got an aesthetic one with a lifetime warranty for $59
I tried this with the ranger bands, but noticed that over time because of the sharpness the bit tips would cut through the band. All was needed was to wrap the bit/connector in electrical tape and then add the bands.
I’ve noticed that leatherman bits can also side into the hollow parts of the links, your ranger band idea can hold them in…. As I was writing this you were saying the same thing.
I agree in 100%. This device seems a bit reckless. At first I thought the same about Signal, but I changed my mind a lot after using it for a while. In this case, you can see at first glance that it could have been designed much better.

Hi Max, wondering if you ever ended up creating the flashlight link you talked about? I got a brand new tread for a good price and am interested!
It is silly how comfortable this is considering the bulk. Hair pulling is so minor, very solid as a bracelet on its own.

The authentic Leatherman is made in Portland OR. The metal for the links is 17 3 stainless.
I've been trying to find a way to store the hex bits, ranger bands. Awesome idea. Thank you. Subscribed
Glad it helped

The Tread is a head scratcher for sure.
Hi sir, would you be able to add a link to the exact one you got from wish?
Yes definitely
Awesome idea with that ranger band 😁👍🏻 thx for that hack 😊 what diameter has that little bands?
Hmm I want to say they are around 1/2 inch
Be careful with your ideas with new links, Leatherman might steal them
Lol, I wish, they are far too closed minded. I just want good tools made..I don't need to be the one doing it
