Branko Zavrl We wanted to record more songs but a very grumpy member of staff at the venue told my fiancé not to film 🙁 he said our camera was too professional (even though it's actually a compact camera) and that we could only record snippets. Because we were front row he just watched us all night, sorry everyone!
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I presume that as they had professional photographers shooting in front who had accreditation, anyone else with something not being a mobile phone would be forbidden to shoot. Probably the venue policy. Was it the Koko club staff ?
Yes a KoKo security guy. Professional photographers took pics for the first couple of songs then left, (though there were 360 degree cameras on stage so there should be footage of the whole show somewhere!) Venue policy (according to their website) is "We allow small consumer-type cameras into KOKO but not professional SLR-type ones." We were using a compact camera, not SLR, as were plenty of other people in the crowd. It just felt like he stopped us because he could easily see and get to us, and I felt uncomfortable and singled out. The staff member had come over to us midway through one of Craig Stickland's (the support act) songs. We spoke to Craig afterwards and he was surprised and sorry that had happened to us. He'd have been happy for us to record and share his songs. JoJo has Tweeted a video of mine before so it would seem she also doesn't mind. It's a shame but at least we got Music :)
