That's so heartwarming! It's wonderful to have those kinds of memories of your grandma. It sounds like she was a very caring and skilled person. Those are the kind of memories that truly last a lifetime.
I just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you for such enjoyable and peaceful content. When I was a child my Oma would try to teach me to knit when we went to Germany to visit. I didn’t enjoy it then but now I am an avid knitter.
I wish I had learned to knit & crochet from my mom. I'm left handed & I just didn't have the patience to learn since I loved the outdoors & animals more back then 😂
Thank you so much for the knitting tutorial! This has been intimidating to me and your lesson took me by surprise to begin with and was done so well that you displaced some of the mystique for me. I love your end products!
Gosh you are so accomplished! My mum could knit. She could multitask- knit, read a book and watch TV at the same time! I will stick to cooking and gardening 😄
@@OurGabledHome my mum was a character. She really made people laugh too… so did my sister. She wasn’t much at cooking though. Her cabbage would flow nicely but you would have to slice her gravy x
We had handarbeit in the school. I still call the stiches 2 left 2 right. Wish they would have this classes in the staates. I’m 80 years old and still knit socks for my gr.grandchildren.
I can’t believe that in all my years of knitting I never thought about casting on over two needles. You’ve just saved me so much future frustration! Thank you!
I can not knit or crochet or sew! My mother can do all that, and paint and play piano and guitar.. I think I missed that gene unfortunately, but I love watching these videos. Perhaps this year, I’ll try and give knitting a go again. Beautiful Anja, really lovely video.
I never get rid of cashmere sweaters, if they have been repaired to many times I cut the sweater up and sew parts into neck warmers or a patch to cover a hole in another sweater.
My grandma used to darn things for me.....I still have lovely memories of that!

That is great! I am sure your grandchildren love everything you knit! In Handarbeit, it's still called "zwei rechts, zwei links" 😊 ~ Anja

@@OurGabledHome I forgot to say when sewing with cashmere I use the zigzag stitch 🤗
And use the sleeves to make wrist warmers!
