The entire album has that theme. lower case = country, CAPITAL = ROCK. 17 songs, 8 lower case country songs, 8 uppercase rock songs, and smack dab in the middle, song 9 is the mockingbird & THE CROW, a half country half rock song that makes the transition almost exactly halfway into the song to the second. It was so intentional it was genius. Making his career transition like this was next level genius.

So a little info , in the lyrics he says “made a song about whiskey and they played it “ he’s referring to Jack which broke out onto rock radio stations , then later “everybody at the party sang my towns smaller than your town” is referring to his song Rednecker ! He’s a great writer and performer. Radio song with the lead from A Day to Remember is probably his most grrr song along with Kill shit till I die , Sold out , .30-06 , his album Mockingbird and the Crow is very cool in that it is half country then transitions to rock in the middle of a song followed by the rest of the album. Almost forgot about Better Me with Beartooth , love that song ! Very excited for where he’s going !

i like your enthusiasm for wanting to get into his music. your like a decade behind tho because you put him on that back burner for so long lol the whole song is about how he started off as a humble song writer and then just blew up out of nowhere, but if you were following him from the start you followed this odyssey of hardy from his humble beginnings to where he is today. its like discovering light before the sun existed

As someone who hasn't given a single fuck about radio in over a decade, and prefers music apps because my kinda folk are independent...... Hardy is the only motherfucker that is on the radio who I care to hear from.
