The first time ESPN's college gameday came to the Steel City. This was a very good game game between Pitt and Virginia Tech. I think this was one of the largest crowds in the history of Heinz Field/Acrisure Stadium for a college football game or any sporting event. Very good top 25 matchup between the Panthers and Hokies you had two Heisman hopefuls in Larry Fitzgerald of Pitt and Kevin Jones of VT. The final meeting between Pitt and Virginia Tech as Big East Foes as well, as Virginia Tech and Miami moved off to the ACC in July of 2004.
Watching this game again after all these years made me realize Beamer made wayyy to many BONHEAD, SIMPLETON play all mistakes... Marcus should have been put in only in certain situations! Pitiful!!
