@darthfuzzel Someone has already said this but this is a parody of Saving Private Ryan. If they were making fun of the war I can see how it would be insensitive, but they're not...they're making fun of a movie.
It would have been pretty cringey for Hanks' squad to have crossed paths with British soldiers, especially considering they landed on Omaha Beach, and then moved further away from the British lines as the movie progressed. I think that some upset Brits need to learn that most war movies are not meant to be documentaries, and that not all British WWII movies feature every nationality that participated in the war either.
Actually the men driving the landing craft that landed the US soldiers on the beach in real life were Royal Navy sailors, who were turned to US Army men for the film. Stephen Ambrose writes about it (including a claim that a US soldier threatened one with a pistol for showing cowardice, a claim later debunked).
