Footscray General Cemetery - Walking Tour - 4K Melbourne Australia

Opened in 1869, there have been approximately 19,000 burials at the cemetery to date, making the cemetery a well-known landmark for generations of Melbournians in the western suburbs. On 2 May 2016, GMCT took over management and the day-to-day operations of the cemetery from Maribyrnong City Council. New positions for burial and the interment of cremated remains are currently unavailable.
