Does Piscifun torrent rod w/ Shimano Caius reel combo catch fish?

I’m expanding my fishing arsenal into new territory with new brands I’ve never used before. Piscifun torrent rod “review” nailed a few good pond bass with it in a quick trip after running errands around Topeka.
The Shimano caius reel is very smooth but I have my thoughts on both rod and reel good and ehhh’s take a look an you decide... did I make a good deal?..
