You are genius! The ten rotations really helps take inconsistency out of the equation. Worked front and rear on my 12 Silverado w trutrac rear and open diff front.
Cant argue with the results but I would think the reason why you multiply by 2 is not because there are 2 wheels - cant quite understand why though, on a non limted slip your one wheel would be spinning if you stopped the other one and technically should give you the right ratio? Can you explain?
Thank you I'll do this tomorrow on my truck cause I know it's a higher number rear end cause cause at 55 on my granny 4 speed I'm at 3k and I have a v8
I did use the RPO on truck before I removed the axle. It was wrong. Big waste of time. This method confirmed actual ratio. I think most people here are modding there already modded projects where tags and warranties are left behind.
@@skipperlilo5353 I am sorry, you need to rotate the tire 10 times. If both tires are off the ground you need to secure one so it doesn't move. Or just leave it on the ground. Once you rotate the tire 10 times you should count how many times your drive shaft rotates. When we did ours it rotated more than twice as much has the tire. How many rotations did you get When you rotated your tire 10 times?

Man that’s such a easy way to figure that out and explained perfectly. great idea thank you this we be very useful. Killer video as always!!!!
Thanks, and thanks for taking the time to comment
Love ur simple idea. Thanks so much for sharing
Glad to help, thanks for commenting
Fantastic explanation. Thank you!
Happy to help
Thank you sir.
Thanks man didn't know this
Yeah, no prob, it's a simple trick am glad to share. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Thank you for the explanation!
Good to know. Flaggy thing I like it
Isn't that the technical term?

Why does the druveshaft need to rotate twice to move both tires??
So if I have a locked rear end… I don’t multiply it right?
Always live two min. Tuesday!!!!
I live doing them also!
Does this work for front diff too?
Yes, absolutely

Glad this helped
What if the vehicle has much larger tires on it would that affect the out come?
Nope, one rotation of the tire is the same no matter the size
Great video but you don't need to make turns, you just need to turn the tire twice and that will give you the result directly.
Just look at your body tag will tell you a lot easier 😂

U lost me
one roatation of the tire to how many times the diff goes around
@@SnailTrail4x4 rotated tire completely around one time yoke went around one time
