love your "as if it came from the factory" philosophy. that's exactly how I'm doing my LSA AWD silverado swap, and it takes a ton of time, but well worth it! Love the trucks BTW

I found i nice 4x4 short bed even with a manual but im scared to try it as I feel like itll be more expensive just trying to keep the driveline in check

Porting the LT4 supercharger is a couple thousand $
Exhaust has to be custom fabricated
Completely redo brake system

(LT4 fueling is prob close to $2k now because the high side pumps are in a shortage right now)
Wheels/tires $5k
I mean it keeps going and going

I bought a 71 chevelle convertible for 50k and put another 100k into it...The car game is stressful but worth it in my opinion.
It just blows me away that there's people out there that can't recognize that those trucks are high end builds. Honestly I figured they were closer to 150. The thing is I can't begin to afford one and that's just the truth. I absolutely love that you guys filmed them both. I've found myself day dreaming about a black one though. They both are so beautiful. I've said it over and over,you guys should be extremely proud of what you guys accomplished. There's not that many shops that could do that quality of builds period....and if they could, it would be way over 30k for labor. Good luck with racing this year and stay safe when you kick Nemo in the ass!!!!👍👍👍

Truthfully both parties are correct in there assessment. If you want a build like this for less your going to need to be intentional on what you buy. I've went through it a few times before but never to the extent, great build brother!
Love the way you built these two. My favorite body style from this generation is the extended cab step side. Currently looking for a good one to start with. I’d love to see your interpretation if you’ve done one in the past or plan to.
Kick ass truck. I had a 89 step side 4x4 that was lifted cool body style, I also 4 Viper trucks wish I still had them. I prefer having a 6 speed.

I’ve been following along on both builds both are bad ass! Thanks for sharing the hours no one ever talks about that part. Raptor lining has a tint able bed spray that’s actually really nice that you can color match any good body shop can spray it.

I have a ‘96 extended cab that I plan to LS swap. It has faded paint and some “character” marks, but I love it and plan to keep it looking that way. I want to make it a cool shop truck/ muscle truck. It’s cool to see what you guys have done with those two OBS trucks. Definitely awesome that people are taking them to that kind of level with immaculate workmanship!
Y’all did awesome work but I will stick to the LS a lot cheaper and a lot less complicated vs the LT variant.
honestly like the headlights on the ZL better than the ZR. already doing aftermarket marker lamps and fog lamps, might as well do some modern headlights. literally the ONLY critique i have on the ZR.

You’re paying 100k plus for their experience and resources. For their know how and their cool factor of how to build a machine. You’re paying for all this with an extremely heavy markup of 40 to 60 percent. After all these guys are in it to pay bills and to make a honest living. Cool builds gentlemen.

yea man i been slowly buying stuff over the years, but this year i am going to dig into it, so i started really ordering parts and even tho the truck run and drives I still spent around 70k so far just buying parts

hello: Can that setup be installed in a '00 Silverado Stepside singlecab as well?
There is a certain allure to taking an older vehicle and making it drive like a new one. Having restored a bunch of 1st gen camaros and wanting to do just one more a few years ago I knew it would take at least $75k to get it to run, stop and handle like I wanted.
On my bday a couple years ago I bought a 17 ZL1 restored salvage title for $34 and have spent another $20k to get it to 725 rwhp.
No way could I get a 1st gen to run like this and be this comfortable for everyday driving and do it all.
I've started to let my wallet make the decisions rather than my heart. More affordable.
People always assume everything will be plug and play awesome trucks
Tonneau cover would solve the bed mat blowing out and...maybe more aerodynamic?
You start with mint trucks for $5-8k and drop $92-95k at summit racing. Boom you gotcha a $100,000 truck.
They maybe used to be 5-8k but not anywhere close to that anymore.
Serious question. Do you guys only do OBS or any type of Chevy trucks ? I would love to do my 2016 Silverado like the ZL1500.
We can do it and it would obviously be a lot cheaper on a 2016.

I think that’s very Generous on the amount of hours & labor rate, most legit shops in CA are well over $200hr.
Labor rates vary state to state with cost of living etc... but are definitely around that for sure

Just an LT5 engine is 40k. Maybe find a used one on the cheap side for 30ish. Then you figure about another 40k in still to make it all work

@@StangkilrProductions You can get a custom Dana-60 from Strange brand new for about $2,500. Much better than the 10-bolt you have in there. Bolt right in.
Remember kids it only takes 100 small 500$ upgrades and errors to reach 100k sunk in your build

Unless your looking for a show piece...why not spend half of that and have a Beast of a unit? Plenty of decent trucks out there that can handle that power plant with just a little TLC here n there. Idk unless you got it like that.. Nice truck's though👍

@@StangkilrProductions Don't get me wrong, OBS trucks have definitely went up in value.. but no one is really pressed to spend a 100k plus for a 90s OBS.I have a Resto mod 59 apache, that's LT4 updated with big Baer brakes, vintage ac and coil overs. so I know you spent GOOD money. Im only saying an 90s OBS, without a celebrity name attached, won't bring that type of cash...So don't take my valued opinion, as a diss.
