I did that starting last year. I stopped planning history/science/geography for the year and started just planning by study (unit). When we finished one, I planned what we would do next in the immediate future. I found when I planned those subjects long-term, my plans never happened 😂 That worked well last year and I think it will work well this year too.
Do you prefer the gather round history vs Notgrass? I was using TGTB level 1 but I switched to beautiful feet Early American History. I was thinking of switching to something with just a little bit more factual text or try to combine it with Notgrass which looks really appealing to me. Beautiful feet is just lacking a little something even when using the extras in the teachers manual.
Glad you are talking about this community and connections book list. It’s annoying me, my library doesn’t have half of them. I don’t want to purchase them. I am also trying to find books for my older children. I will use some of the picture books definitely, however…. I feel like to truly dig deep for my 5th and 10th grader I want to find books. Good strong books. I don’t want them to think it’s just stupid and babyish.
Honestly, we do this with any booklist in general! I try and find them at my library 1st! It's a big money saver and then we are able to buy the ones we love and will use again and again!
@@SimplyLivingIt well if you find books that your boys really appreciate will you please share them? I’m holding off this unit study until I can get a good book list. Also…. Silly me, I should probably just go ask Torrie if she has any older book selections.
We have LOVED the Bible crate! Thanks for the recommendation. Just got our second box!

That is amazing! It feels so much better to just be taking baby steps! One thing at a time! 💗
Hello. What are you using for your 9th grader for Language Arts? What do you title the unit studies you do on your 9th graders transcript?

Love the hair 🙂
Have you considered or looked at doing the paid membership with Wild + Free?
I haven't! I should check that out!
I would love your feedback regarding the community and connection. Planning to do that on December. Thank you.
Where do I find this?
Torrie Oglesby has a youtube channel and she shares more about it there! 💜
