The characters are so well drawn that I like them very much. Even the bad guys, while unlikeable, resonate in my memory as people I have stumbled over on my way to becoming much wiser. You capture the ages and life experience of your players very convincingly. 2. The mystery is intriguing, and you fulfill your contract to the reader. Cozy mystery fun that draws the reader right where you want her. 3. Wonderful job by the reader, Tiffany Williams! 4. What courage for you to put your book out there for free! You are successful: I will be buying a copy (and perhaps future volumes), because I am a new fan. As a writer, this has been very inspiring and instructive to me. 4. What else? I just found out that you write comedic mystery books. I'm sorry that I didn't look carefully before. Hence, if you ever decide to make a sequel showing some of the romance between the girl and Derek's grandson, I'm more than happy if you made it a mainly comedic mystery book as well since girl in the shadows was really awesome. Continuing from my previous comment… This story was so Brilliant and enjoyable I listened to it twice. Unlike those super long novels congested with wordy and spacious run on metaphors that stops the flow of what’s happening because I have to rewind just to understand what was just said. Again the long novel gets longer with run on similes 😂…. This story continued moving forward as the plot thickens.😊 The characters in the novel had so much chemistry it was like watching a movie in my head hearing only the words…. Does that make sense?? It does to me, that’s one ingredient to a great story….. I must say this book had a lot of DOW WOW moments. If anyone doesn’t understand a DOW WOW I’m sorry it can’t be defined in this comment… No that’s not what I mean lol. But in Tamara’s Podcast Episode 1 you will understand the Great Irish expression…WHAT’S THAT CALLED WHEN IT’S AT HOME😅 Back to the Novel this story MUST not have just one sequel>But a series of Abbie, Derek Diamond AND Chewie Mysteries….Those are already Best Sellers!!! I quite liked this . The recap in the story was spot on also. If you’re going to match Agatha ,you’ve got to produce a hundred works . As Agatha had her Perot and her miss marble ,so too do you also need a matching character. I’ve no doubt you’ll go far .👍👍
This is a light and easy book, very enjoyable. As someone already mentioned there's no cussing or putting reader in peeping Tom mode with gratuitous sex scenes. Good narrator as well. I don't think this is a spoiler, but usually people want to know the dog is safe and happy throughout. She is.

I don’t wanna be that person and this is a cool story but does anybody know of a detective story with a female main character without all of this romance stuff (creepy boyfriends, crushes, old guys downtalking, etc)? Asking for a friend bc I really want to know so I can read it. I’ve been looking and I can’t find any 😭
If you look for some mysteries with a male detective, those tend to have less focus on the romance subplots. Steve Higgs is an author who writes a bunch of series that are also light and funny.
There is a book series with a female detective who is older living in New York City and slightly well built. I can't remember the author right now but boy they were fun.
Enjoyed the first 40 mins of this then she went home to her whacked psycho ex and it wasn't a cosy mystery anymore. I just don't need whack jobs in my downtime. Thanks but no thanks - false advertising imo
