Always hard for me to mentally accept that this is the same person that's the singer for Avatar. It's like the make up transforms him into a completely separate entity on stage. Dude's got a crazy range.

I've been waiting for awhile to say this... Avatar > 100 levels down, Ghost. Tobias is talented, but Avatar's focus on music will Always put them ahead... most importantly, in my opinion.

Had no idea who Avatar was, until I stumbled upon them crammed onto a tiny stage in Maine, and they blew my fucking head off. One of my favorites. They understand the beauty and power of heavy music.
I had no idea they'd been around for 20+ years.....blew my freaking mind!
I only discovered them almost a year ago myself and I've loved extreme metal for about 25 yrs now. Never seen anyone with a tshirt, never heard anyone mention their name...
RUclips recommended their 2015 Wacken set and all I saw was a screenshot of some dude who reminded me of Eric Draven so I HAD to hit play. Within ONE minute of Hail the Apocalypse (he hadn't even started singing!), I was thinking "Yup, I'm gonna like these guys"... sure as shit, they very quickly became my new fave band and I still can't get enough!
One year later with a live show and getting to meet Johannes under my belt, I consider myself very blessed!
They're on tour again so keep an eye on their official site and/or socials and if you have the opportunity, do yourself a favour and GO. They DO NOT disappoint! 🤡 💪

Ive just discovered these guys, and Im fairly blown away. Amazing both sonically and visually. The singer really puts them into the stratosphere. That guy is incredible.

Johannes has such great charisma and energy in stage. I've seen a lot of bands perform live that really get the crowd going but Avatar is the greatest.

Johannes has an incredible voice so powerful and unique this was the song that actually introduced me to Avatar it randomly came on a RUclips Music playlist when I was at work and got my attention right away. I tried recording vocals for this song and the verses in the studio version are super hard to sing trying to add grit in the voice for the higher register stuff my voice was done lol
