I think the stands are unique. They actually might have some benefit in certain applications. Traveling is one and two you can move the low Tom back more to be more like a acoustic depending on setup. I wish I can demo these.

It's my first time using eF Note 3, but is the bass originally set at a lower initial value compared to td17kvx? It depends on the situation, but I have to raise the bass to about 90 and raise the low high EQ a little to create weight. I'm just wondering if it's because the bass drum pad sensitivity I have is low or if the bass value is set a little lower than Roland's.

  • @Cowdog1

Can these kits be adjusted at all? I've watched a ton of efNote videos, and I never see anyone adjust the drum sounds. It's this kit or that kit, but it seems like the bass drum is always very dead - like a pillow and a sleeping bag and some foam is stuffed into at drum. I just want to give the base a little more ambiance and ring and life. The playing is awesome as always. I wish I was 1/10th the drummer...hahaha... Cheers!

The EFNOTE feels & plays great, so does the VAD306. In this case it really comes down to personal preference, especially concerning the module features & sounds, which are very different. It helps that he's a great player. I would imagine he's using the default kit settings. However, it's possible that he has fine-tuned the trigger parameters-such as threshold and sensitivity-to ensure his dynamics are captured and executed effectively. I have this kit, and it sounds great-especially useful for recording, with the 8 separate channels via USB.

@@hugostos09 Hi Hugo, the pads are rather different between 3 & 5, I am not sure if the playability of the modules is very different as such, as I have only played the 5 module with the 5 pads and same for the 3. In my opinion, playing feel was much better on the 5 because of the 18" ride, the hihat plays REALLY nice, and the whole kit has a very realistic feel. It is small though & deifinitely not a "heavy hitter" rock kit. Kind regards!

I'm thinking about getting/adding some of these cymbals to my set with the ATV xD3 module once they become available separately. Would these work with the xD3? Thanks. Also I'd like to hopefully see the module become available separately, too. The sounds are awesome (for me it's between this module or the 2box drumit 3 or 5 mk2). Thanks for showing us the sounds fully unlike some demos by other RUclipsrs. It'd be a nice plus if this module had positional sensing but from what I've seen, the sounds in the module are nicely customizable and stuff. This whole set stood out for me and I definitely would prefer everything as nice as this!

Hi Ronn, the EFNOTE pads & module will be available separately from drum-tec soon (during the next weeks). Generally speaking the pads should be compatible with Roland/ATV (except the hihat controllers, which have a different connector),
You might get in touch through service@drum-tec.de to get further info on compatibility in detail and an individual quote on your selected products (as soon as they are available separately) including international shipping. Kind regards!

@@drumtecTV Well, that's all nice to hear! I've bought my xD3 module from you guys and it's definitely the best decision I've made. The price was great and everything! I wasn't exactly the happiest with my stock Td-11kv and adding the xD3 module really brought a lot more fun back into my drumming that I've never got to experience especially on an electronic kit, I could play more dynamically. I haven't really noticed any machine gunning with this one, either. Definitely very natural and pleaseant sounding (to me at least). I just wish I had the money to afford nice electronic sets like this one, maybe one day. I just love to play all day and enjoy myself jamming along to music. Definitely a fun, enjoyable hobby!

I could almost never hear the hi-hat. Occasionally if it was open, but when it was closed...... never. The cymbals and crashes were good and I was impressed with the bell sound and playability. But the hi-hat? Very weak. Maybe that's just how the mix was set up in the module. In my TD-20 I really had to bring the hi-hat forward for it to be heard. I think in the demo you should have played each trigger/instrument separately and by itself one at a time to demo them.

@@alexdwyer7677 Sorry for the extremely delayed response. As I recall, there are videos circulating on RUclips that demonstrate the tuning options available in the sound module; however, I haven't got the time or inclination to find them again, especially considering, you've most likely moved on from this kit. I will say though, I did buy the efnote 3, still have it, and enjoy using it. While the number of kits available are limited in the module, they sound great (much better than the leading brands IMO), and the customisation options are very useful in studio recording contexts. If you're looking for an organic sounding e-kit for recording, I believe this one is priced well, and includes 99% of the features of the higher priced efnote kits but in a more compact and transportable format.
