- The Brilliant Idiots is a comedy podcast from the Loud Speakers Network featuring Charlamagne tha God, host of Power 105.1’s radio show, The Breakfast Club. Andrew Schulz is a world touring stand up comedian known for his work with MTV and
independently successful comedy projects, “4:4:1 - a comedy experience by Andrew Schulz” as well as “52 weeks of stand up.”
The Brilliant Idiots is a podcast just as unpredictable as its hosts. From power 105's hit radio show "The Breakfast Club" comes Charlamagne tha God and stand up comedy's rulebreaker, Andrew Schulz. From music, comedy, relationships, to pop culture, politics and current events, everything is on the table for analysis. But take what you hear with a grain of salt, because while their perspectives are often brilliant, they're liable to be idiotic too.

So you can have an opinion but he can’t? Grow up kid.
Uneducated opinions. First of all Kanye’s discography destroys Drakes. Second, Kanye produced Jay Z’’s Blueprint!! Anyone that knows anything about Jay’s career is that it was such an important album to his transition of sound and is in his own personal top two albums. Whoever your favorite artist, Kanye has most likely produced some of their songs. Then let’s not talk about the culture. Ye’s shoes has made him a billionaire. What more influence is there?
Andrew is a comedian and he's just jokin about Drake.
Dudes went from hating on Kanye to loving him. Backtracking like crazy😂
CLB is nothing new at least Donda has range
It’s easy to be consistent with an album when you don’t take chances & deliver the same ol expectations. Just saying.
Exactly, it’s like if Kanye kept doing albums that sound like College Dropout. It’s like where’s the growth. If you think the same as you did as a child, then there’s a problem
Facts. Ultimate play it safe artist. Remember when Kendrick said, he doesn’t wanna create a good kid maad city 2. Doesn’t wanna be stagnant. The commercial success of drake has made his music stagnant and stale
What drake and his team understand is that the youth runs the charts. Not people in there 30’s and 40’s wanting growth! Lmao 😂 Kanye ain’t have not one song in the top 5. Let’s see what CLB does.... 🤷🏽♂️ ha
@@georgecharles2347 why you acting as if the charts matter to fans? To the artist? Sure. Why should you or anybody care that consumes music care about where something charts?
George Charles You're talking about charts as if that's relevant. Both of them have commercial success, but we're talking about whose music is less samey, not who runs the charts.
Using numbers in a convo about quality has never been a good argument.
3:10 Kanye is literally Kanye all the time. He’s one of the most authentic artists out. It’s hilarious to say you don’t believe what he says. A lot of the criticisms about Kanye you can apply to Drake. Both from middle class backgrounds but wanna surround themselves with dudes from the streets, both have collaborative writing and producing teams. Both always have some corny bars.
I like both of them but seriously we’ve got to stop pulling these takes out of our asses
Exactly, and drake has a new accent every month. “I can’t tell you from you”
Uneducated opinions are very misleading. I supposed they just need something to talk about.
None of them are music people, but some how their opinion matters. Everyone’s opinion does not matter if they are not a champion of the subject
Very good point, people just like to pick on Kanye cus he’s seen as an easy target and these media and industry mfs dicc ride Drake cus he’s the hottest right now, they be damn near scared to even criticize Drake
Andrew just shows every week that he really doesn’t know hip hop he just has friends who are into hip hop great point tho even with writers Kanye isn’t a “bad” rapper
How is anything Kanye says out of his mouth MUSICALLY is him being authentic when the whole world knows he doesn’t write a single rap. Drake talks about that all the time. Someone made a reference track for drake IYRTITL but Kanye has written a rap since 2004 🤣 people are sick and love to choose sides it’s actually bad.
@@quieronking7472 you do realize that his ghostwriters help him write a song just like Quinton Miller helped drake write iyrtitl? that's what ghostwriters do they don't just write their own songs and give it to the artists, this happens in pop but only rarely in rap. Also did you know that drakes first hit find your love was entirely written by Kanye?
Charlamaigne pushing that “ Drake writes his own rap “ narrative because they told him he helped push that he got ghost writers narrative lol
Yeah all of a sudden the whole media doesn't bring up drake's ghost writers. Very strange.

I think people say they expected more because, while he has experimented with dance hall and Afrobeat, he hasn't brought anything new to the table with regards to his penmanship, nor with the production/sounds he chooses that you could say has changed the rap game.
I listened to the album a few times, and overall I think he is still on the same topics he has been on since Views, which isn't a bad thing if executed well, but it's nothing new or creative and at this point in time feels a little worn out.
I felt that, for the most part, the energy he normally has wasn't really there. When 7am on Bridle Path came on, I thought that was the most energy he had on the whole album and I'm not sure how to analyse that because the album isn't necessarily about beef, but about being a certified lover boy, so for him to express so much energy in that diss track feels off. Aside from that, I felt it was the same old thing, nothing new, and I think many people feel the same because it's been 5 years of the same stuff. He could try something new, at this stage he is too big to fail, and at least people could give him kudos for trying something new, but it comes across that he is too comfortable.
That's just my perspective on things, I'm probably wrong, but we all have different ideas and beliefs.

I’m a big Drake fan. Been a fan of his music since So Far Gone. I grew up with him and Wayne. CLB was disappointing. That’s just my opinion. Worst project he’s ever put out. It was bland. It felt uninspired most of the time. It felt like I’d heard it all before. Very few bars spoke to me like drake usually does. The beats were basic. Donda on the other hand was unique. Some of the tracks missed for me, but I appreciate Ye taking risks and striving to give something different and special. Drake doesnt do that and it’s a shame because with his position he could really push the culture somewhere new and exciting but he chooses to stay in the comfort zone. He can only do that so long.

Drake achieved more in R&B > Rap, but for some reason u guys can’t wrap your head around it and kept arguing on the rap part.
thats why i always say, kanye is known MOSTLY for his production. i get it his album but usually its the otha artists that shine lyrically and kanye jus shine production wise
Is this guy a comedian? Drakes album is easy to digest. Easy for any occasion. Guy is 34 with words of a adolescent. Kanye is a rockstar and drakes a popstar
He is a comedian, actually lol
@@NeliusSan 😂
so now drake the GOAT lyricist, but used to be the clown who uses ghostwriters...
Zero evolution as an artist since so far gone
The hell Drake is on the same level Lyrically as hov
U buggin Andrew
Someone give me an example of drakes musicality evolving since so far gone and I’ll surrender my hate for him
Same. Literally one of the most boring and bored himself, asleep on all his tracks, corny ass lyricism. I swear am not saying this as exaggeration, I wanted to nap twice while listening to clb. None of drake's bars have been good since his past 60 albums.
He hasn’t, it’s still the depressed little boy singing about how women leave him and people talk shit about him. The only difference is that back then it felt authentic. Now it feels like a parody of his old persona.

Lmao Kanye west is a bum fraud who said slavery was a choice ain't been good since mbdtf an just because he makes sounds an dumb noises doesn't mean he's talented he 🗑️ if drake hasn't grown as an artist why is Kanye so obsessed with him..
Kanye didn't need Drake before we knew Drake.
I'm glad cthagod drew the line on that Hov Comment
These guys are trying to undermine Ye's rapping lyricism, I think saying Kanye cant rap or mediocre is just an insult to hiphop, you must be super ignorant or just dumb to say Ye can't rap. They forget Ye broke through the shell of just being a producer to be top rapper just because of his outstanding rapping ability. This guy out rapped 50 who was the best at the time. Saying he cant rap and he is just a good producer is trying to put him into that box he was in before his rap career popped off, such disrespect (or just ignorant).
Drake is a Mcdonald's burger flipper. Kanye is a Michelin Star chef.
The burger flipper pumps out more mediocre food that generates a lot of revenue. The chef is at the forefront of their craft, taking risks and constantly advancing cuisine as a whole, creating experiences on a plate.
drake is cool, but lets be honest that 5-6 album run ye had is untouchable.
So the Drake ghostwriter thing was just a dream. It didnt happen?
7 am bridle path, no friends in the industry, knife talk
The production on The Weeknd’s latest album rivals Kanye. Listen to faith for example
No
@@danaparker5037 yes definitely
The guy in the Tims is only adding bass to the conversation...
I can’t believe I’m about to say this…but I lowkey agree with Andrew. Drake rap has gotten better over the years but the content is starting to get boring. I’m looking for the next level. I think if he gets in a serious relationship with a woman who challenges him then maybe we can see some growth in him. But right now it’s like Big Pimping Jay-Z for 10 years… and it’s getting old!
because of the whole "new car smell " analogy, remember when u got your first brand new car from the dealership? shit was so gassy u wanted to sleep and eat in it and just look at it , and just smell it cuz it was so god damn new, now after having the said car for about 10+ years youre like " ehh the car is mediocre at most " because youve had it for so long its old to you. thats drakes career, hes been #1 for so long that its tiring , yeah he deserves to be #1 but at the same time it gets old because the artists that try to be #1 or maintain that spot are fucking key hole rappers and mcdonald ass rappers, its hard to catch lighting in a bottle in the entertainment industry.
Kanyes better as a rapper, mc, producer, beat maker, and live performer yeah
my dark twisted fantasy was defiantly a classic or one of the few greatest albums
Lebron? Jay-Z? You fkn out of your mind? Drake is at best the Nickelback of hip-hop. 10 years from now nobody’s gonna remember him just like Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan.
Drake does 2D Music...Kanye Does 3D... THank me later.
Drake is an entertainer
Ye is an ARTIST.
They love Kanye and then say he’s corny. Snakes/haters look like these guys
bro I'm not gonna lie drake got me posting the whole of gods plan on my snap story when i was 12 but now i dont gaf about him he ain't got you floating and crying at the same time like Kanye does maturing is realising
Kanye does write! Stop with that false narrative.
He gets help with lines and some songs are written.
He freestyles like Jay z and mumble lines and then fills them in with words. Twisted Fantasy is the first album where he actually wrote the raps because of how important that album was to his career at the time.
And make sure you say the same about drake. It’s funny how all of a sudden those reference tracks are all forgotten
💯💯
Kanye and Drake are actually very similar when it comes to making good music except one is a better singer and one is a better rapper
Kanye is so much better at spitting than drake are you kidding
It's like everyone is forced to talk up jz, and that's what it is forced
"Find your love" is a lil snippet of what drake and kanye could do if they work more together
@Tom Ross TV RAW Didn't know you were there when he wrote it.
Bars? you can’t get more elite… can’t spit better then Drake? Like Kendrick don’t exist🐐
I missed Andrew in OKC?!?!
"Drake should write for kanye." 🤣
Already did on life of pablo 💀
@@JohnjOcampo and Kanye wrote and produced Find Your Love
@@user-qd6im2hp2e so why do yall only bring that ghost ish with drake? You forget about it when its your favorite artist huh lol hypocrite 🖕🏼
@@JohnjOcampo when did you see me bring up ghostwriters for Drake ? He got help on if you’re reading this but the guy was credited. Also you can’t be a ghostwriter if you’re credited, which Kanye does for people that he co-writes with.
@@user-qd6im2hp2e congrats drake has 100 million hits so who cares he would've been drake without that song regardless
CLB is like a 5 to 6 all the way through, except the sample of the first song which is fiireee
Donda has like 10 10s and around 4 5s, the rest are around 6
When CTG asked that guy if Way 2 Sexy was the song he found introspective I choked on my coffee 💀
Drake is like that really expensive burger that tastes like shit, and Kanye is the monalisa of burgers, everything perfectly cooked and everything.
