    Coming from a fellow owner of a 09 coupe se manual I can say it is a very fun car to drive and the torque like u stress really plays it role when it comes to racing. I catch so many ppl of guard they didn’t know what hit em. Love this car to death don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it. You don’t see too many manuals out there when u find em. They are gems let me tell you. I got mine with 86k on the dash and man has it been a dream since then. Up to bout 105k replaced alternator so Ik what a pain that is haha and one more thing they sound so freakin good. All I did to mine is cut off the muffler and she puresss🦁🦁

    Hard to find parts sometimes. Most parts houses don't recognize this as a different car from the sedan. Note: cv shaft is different and hard to find. Measure before attempting to install. I've learned to pull the part and use Rock Auto, compare to on line photos. Clutch is different too. Replacing the clutch diy is not for the faint of heart. A month of weekends. Engine/tranny out the bottom and remove all suspension, steering rack, frame members.

    No room for a supercharger in the engine compartment. Engine is transverse mounted, so it would be sideways anyway. Serpentine belt is right up against the passenger side coilover. No room. Forget all that, put in a stage 2 clutch, 4000 to 6000 rpm happens so quick, you don't need boost. Biggest downside is the computer won't let you shift right. Computer holds the throttle open between shifts limiting shift speed and putting unnecessary wear on the clutch.

    I feel the same about stick shit vehicles because I've had a stick shift since my first car when I was 16 and I worked at Honda as a lot attendant and was disappointed in the paddle shifting because if I felt like getting close to redline it would shift for me which was a let down but when some people would rather take the easier route and get an automatic. I personally feel when everyone is learning to get their license that everyone should learn on a manual transmission so they at least know how if they ever ended up in a situation where they needed to drive one.

      I never see any in Ontario . If I do there pre 2011 so no face lift and 90% are 2.5 . I've seen maybe 3 pre 2011 manual v6coupes.
      It's honestly hard to find a car to match in practicality and fun. Most the time u don't need more then 2 seats but if u do there is room in back and the back folds all the way down if u need Trunk is deep but shallow where the speakers and siding come down. Motor and trans are bullet proof. Because it's fwd with good snows it's easier in the winter esp on hills and has a easy on off traction Button. On .. off. .on.. off. Different gearing then 350, I've gotten as low as 7 litres per 100 km or as high 16( not driving like a human being who should care about there car but hey racetracks). gas mileage commuting. Manual v6coupes parts are more $ but it's so reliable that the things I did fix weren't that bad .sway bar end links , wheel bearing , brake caliber all fairly average . Love Chanel exhaust sounds good, one of the best features of Vq motors

    • @TheMagicJellybean9
      @TheMagicJellybean9  4 года назад +2

      I would definitely get service records on the transmission/clutch. My clutch burned out at 120k so that car you're looking at might be nearing it's limit if they didnt replace the clutch already. If it did get a new clutch I'd say that's an amazing deal. These VQ engines are tanks and will serve their purpose for as long as you need if you take care of them!

      I also love the Altima 3.5 over the current years 350Z/370Z's because they are tuned to have max torque sooner. I love peeling off lights and don't really care about highway racing. It's the hooligan in me xD. Torque is the spice of life.

      Now, concerning the Altima you are seeking to purchase, I am heavily biased against the CVT technology in nissan. Especially older years because the technology was newer and less developed around that time. If the car is closer to 100k or over that milage and there are no reported service records for a transmission service such as the CVT belt, I would personally avoid that car. These CVT have proven them selves not as reliable as the manual models and they are much more costly to repair. I had to get a new clutch at 120k miles and it costs about 1,200 after labor. I can't imagine how much a new CVT belt would be plus all the other components like torque converters etc.
      I do encourage you to get a manual V6. The 2.5 models are nice but the engine is not as proven as the VQ 3.5 engine. Those engines are super reliable and can be beaten to death because of how over engineered they are. As far as pricing anything near the blue book value is fine. If you choose to get a CVT I would definitely buy a 3rd party warranty for that transmission so you are covered the day something happens.
      I actually learned to drive manual on my Altima. Go to an empty parking lot. Practice starting and stopping. With and without the accelerator. Then practice starting fast and stopping fast. Then add a shift or two.
      Getting out of first gear is always the hardest thing to learn but once you master that the rest comes naturally. 90% of manual driving all boils down to your clutch work :)

    • @SageXteriorCleaning
      @SageXteriorCleaning 4 года назад +1

      The Magic Jellybean so even after I buy a Manual 3.5 around 100-120k miles I should be expecting to pay money on a belt being around 1200. That’s pretty scary considering I wouldn’t have extra money after I bought the car. Is there a warranty that I can get for the belt (or what ever it is) that I could get that way I wouldn’t be worried about anything.

    • @SageXteriorCleaning
      @SageXteriorCleaning 4 года назад

      The Magic Jellybean and thanks so much for the feedback really appreciate everything helps.

    • @TheMagicJellybean9
      @TheMagicJellybean9  4 года назад

      @@SageXteriorCleaning There are third party warranties available if you did a Google search. I don't know the name but there are many small/big companies willing to offer extended warranties to cover big maintenance jobs if you pay month to month similar to having insurance. If it is an automatic, I'm not saying it's guaranteed to break at a specific mileage, but I would recommend finding yourself prepared rather than not prepared!
      And just to be specific here, I don't mean the timing belt. I've driven my car for 150k now still on the same timing belt. I'm sure it's long past due, but the thing to watch out for is the CVT transmission belt if it's an auto.

    Why not just get a g35 they look exactly alike and it’s cheaper and faster

    • @diswazzi1683
      @diswazzi1683 4 года назад

      The G35 has different tail lights and an all around different body profile, it also has a pretty outdated looking center console in my opinion. Though it is much faster stock and has a nice looking engine bay I'd still pick this Altima over it simply because, in certain configurations, it's rare. Particularly the 2012 v6 manual. Besides if speed is really what you're after you can always engine swap, you should always tune your car before you dress it.

    • @TheMagicJellybean9
      @TheMagicJellybean9  4 года назад +1

      It boils down to what you want or need out of your car. The Altima Coupe was never the fastest but it has max torque at 4200 RPM has UNIQUE body paneling that were custom made for this platform and has two seats in the back.
      During this time (2008-2013) many coupes were just the same paneling and framework as their sedan counterpart, but Nissan went out of their way to build a slightly different frame and panels for this car so that it stands out from the sedan. Go look at other coupes like the Honda Accord / BMW Coupes and you will see the styling is the exact same down to the screws, with the exception of the door position. The Altima coupe shares almost nothing with the sedan. if you tried to swap parts it wouldn't fit.
      It's also a sleeper for the insurance companies. They think it's just another Altima little did they know it's quick as hell (quick not fast). I was racing a 2018 Audi S5 (V6 turbo AWD automatic) from a dig at a red light and we were neck and neck until I was near the end of 4th gear. Granted I have a cold air intake and an exhaust and lighter wheels thats pretty impressive for "just another Altima"
      The most fun you will have with this car is off the lights. The 350Z and other V6 cars like the Infinity are tuned to have more HP, but the Altima's engine was detuned for more torque.
      The ironic thing was I was actually looking for a G35 for my first car, but they were either too far or too expensive. I saw one of these cars driving down the street one day and looked it up. I was first annoyed that it was FWD because i wanted a RWD car, but I'm glad I didn't get the infinity. After I found out the engine was detuned I had a blast. The more I researched about the car and learned about it's unique qualities, the more I began to appreciate it for what it was which was unique.
      It's not trying to be a true sports car. If it was, they would have tuned it differently. It's a car that happens to be sporty and look unique compared to it's sedan counterpart.

      @datacipher 4 года назад +1

      Diswazzi lol... g35 coupe is actually noticeable slower than the Altima coupe 3.5. It weighs 100-200 lbs more and generally gets 0-60 times in the high 5 to low 6 region. The Altima coupe tends to record about a .2 second advantage. It has essentially the same engine. Plus the fwd gets more force to the wheels. The g37 coupe is a bit faster however. One thing I would say is that any of these coupes will be much more fun and FEEL much faster in the rare 6mt for a good driver.

      @@datacipher lmaoo the G35 gaps the Altima by 100 hp or more. That 200 pound difference still doesn't help much in the long run

      @@druutv1982 You're giving G35s too much credit lol. 100hp? Where'd u get that? It's like the other guy said, Altimas are 100-200lbs lighter and weight is always a factor. And let's not forget about drivetrain loss. V6 Altimas make around the same power as a DE G35. DE Rev-up would be close but with an HR, there's no chance an Altima would win. Both are great cars regardless

      Yep the CVT even in 2020 models is still the biggest letdown/fail. Nissan would do so much better if they just went back to traditional reliable 6-8 speed autos.

    My 370z has more torque then you lol

    • @TheMagicJellybean9
      @TheMagicJellybean9  4 года назад

      Techbically yes to do. Even stock for stock the 350/370 has more torque (though it can be argued the 370 has more cubic capacity)
      .
      But my point in this video is that the max torque of the 350/370 is much higher in the RPM band so you have to work harder to get the same amount of torque or better from the Altima coupes. The Altima coupe torque hits as early as 2.5 RPM in nearly every up to 4th and you can definitely feel it. I've driven a few 350z test driving from dealerships back when I was deciding between the 350Z and the Altima Coupe and I never got that same sensation
      That's what I love about the coupe. More torque sooner, but I would never expect to smoke a higher revving car on a straightaway
