Bravo Sammie!!!!!❤❤❤❤ Ingenious idea's! What masterful ways to use up pillow covers and I love them all. Even with Mom brain your talent is amazing!❤❤❤
Oh myy gourd!! These are so gorga!!!! I love them all!! And you make it look so easy 🙂 Question..Didn't you do a video showing how to decor with an old wooden hanger? I found a hanger today, but I can't remember how you styled it 😞
Lol all the stuffy/ little pillows are adorable the candy corn & pumpkin are my favorites & love the spoon for the pumpkin, hope you are all doing well tfs. Big Thumbs Up 👍🥰🙏
I love everything, Sammie. You are so creative and every project you do turns out amazing. My favorite are the ghosts. Thank you for sharing. God Bless you and your family.
Sammie, they all were super cute! You made look so easy! I want to give them a shot! I'm slowly easing back into crafting after a rather emotional nine month hiatus. You are the one I look to, for inspiration 😊 Thanks for all you do!❤
Hiiiii… I absolutely loved this show!!😊… these projects all turned out so beautifully can’t really pick a favourite…my heart does have a soft spot for candy corn❤…thank you for sharing your ideas with us
Hi Sammie, I believe this is the first video I have seen of your's and I recd the alert on my phone. If you can believe it, I am a pillow case addict. 😅 But, since moving into a very tiny flat (was not my first choice or last choice) I have had to curtail my everything as I have only 2 very small closets and I am on the 3rd floor with no elevator and a disabled leg. My grandmother owned the only fabric store that had ever been on Long Beach Island (NJ). She closed it in the mid 90s still being the only one working there, other than us grandchildren females tidying up the store at the end of each day in the summer time. I sold my jewelry and crafts in the front on tables . I believe my Mom instilled the love of pillow cases. My Mom would make the pillow cases from beautiful white cotton and iron on designs with the iron on patterns. She then would use Tri Kem paint to fill in the pictures or where the lines were she would embroider the pictures. She made pillow cases for each baby that was born in our church and would stuff each one laying flat with about 10 starter cloth diapers (This was in the 60s and 70s) and she would add in burping shoulder pads, child thermometer, little things like that. In the 1980s my Mom was still making pillow cases and she has never believed in non cloth diapers but, she didn't include diapers at all she changed it up with bibs and items like that but as the children grew they loved having a first pillowcase. My Mom got each season made us 3 children when we were young pillow cases with applique Christmas trees, Easter eggs with bunnies, pumpkins, fish for my brother, flowers for us girls. My Mom passed away in 2021 from cancer and I was the only child packing up her house. In boxes neatly packed in her basement she had our names and the years . I found a beautiful pillowcase my Mom made for my brother with fish and kites and I had washed it and ironed it and in November will have Michael's frame dept frame it for my brother. I have one for my sister too. I have cut off the backside of the case. My Mom I believe had every school paper saved from K to 12th grade. I picked out laying on the work bench a few select ones from each grade including art projects to save. I have gotten onto another path....sorry. As for me, I do not have hardly enough room for my clothes but, I went to Goodwill (brand new store getting ready to open in less than a mile from me) to give some donations of craft supplies (I just have too much) and one woman I know from from another GW was so excited to tell me a nice big batch of pillowcases were donated. They are not in the selling phase yet but I can buy if I want. I was so excited to find a Georgetown Crew one from the 1980s and my Mom's brother was on the Georgetown Crew and now being 70 he won his division for GT Crew a couple weeks ago. I am having that framed for him. The woman that is heading up textiles loved my idea I told her she should have a bar rack just for pillowcases with pant clip hangers instead of just thrown into large wood boxes like the other location has. She loved the idea. I found a pillowcase there that had my Mom's style of signature on it and it was homemade it had rickrack in yellows and orange and brown on the placard of the case. I saw your candy corns and I thought hey I am going to cut out the rickrack areas into Easter egg shapes or with the rickrack being colors of candy corn maybe with fabric markers I can fill in the other colors and cut out in the shape of candy corns. 🍬🌽 And.....I will end this but, please do not get me started on the LOVE OF BUTTONS! Most of the time I am wearing pins I made with buttons same with dangly earrings. My grandmother left to my sister and I all the shoeboxes full of buttons from the 1960s she could no longer sell and when Mom and I helped clean out the fabric shop someone had taken all the buttons. 😥 We never found out who and my grandma passed away in 2001 and no one has come forward. But, from my grandmother's summer home and her winter home my Mom gave me grandma's jars of buttons. I use her's only for family crafts and jewelry and when I make crafts to sell I go and buy buttons. Near my job is Fabric Place Fabrics and they have a button bin that is huge but all are thrown in together. I call it the Hunt For Red October (my favorite movie). When I made a short dress I stood for hours searching for 8 matching buttons. Little brown bags are available and on Tuesdays the buttons are 25 for $4. I love the brushed nickel star ones and the buttons in all colors that are fruits. I have a project planned for them. I am praying I can retire when I am 65 and still in good health I want to open a little craft shop with a room in the back and a small kitchen and one Saturday a month have a workshop for children and one Saturday a month have one for adults. Everyone bring whatever they are working on at home even if they want to sew and I will have an iron and ironing mats and keep the coffee hot and the front of the business have crafts to sell friends and strangers included and an apartment upstairs for me. My boss's wife has a friend who is going blind and she was an avid seamstress. In his suburban Friday he brought in 3 small suitcases and 2 large storage totes of fabric. He said I wouldn't hurt his feelings if I didn't want but would I like. In my mind I wanted to say no I literally haven't any room. He opened the first tub and OMGOSH It's all beautiful Fall fabrics pumpkins leaves black cats and witches and ghosts. Other tub filled with 3 yards of official NFL Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens , etc fabric. All new, all folded up nice. The one tote is still in the car. I will have to wait until my boyfriend comes over next weekend to help me. I know I will hear a lecture. I am sorry for this novel. I do not have any female friends to speak of and I am alone after work most days and weekends accept for being with my Dad on Wed night for dinner and taking him to the store and errands on Saturdays. I am hoping my new church will have crafters in it and I can have a friend. Since my Mom passed I am a loner. I want to see if you have an Instagram acct. I am interested in the stamp you used in this for your very cool pumpkin. I have my grandmother's vintage silverware and I very much want to make the pumpkin. Blessings, Rebekah in VA
